—Mitsuba to Yuichiro

MitsuYuu is the het ship between Yūichirō Hyakuya and Mitsuba Sangū from the Seraph of the End fandom.

Canon

Mitsuba and Yuichiro first met in Chapter 8 of the Manga and Mitsuba immediately had a negative attitude towards Yuichiro. Although later on, begins to respect him.

After Yuichiro saved a young girl, Mitsuba slaps him, because he exposed the whole squad to danger, Yuichiro answers that he doesn't regret to save an innocent Child, which makes Mitsuba angry and she then also say's that she hates guys like Yuichiro the most. When the young girl then thanks the Squad for saving her, Mitsuba says that the Imperial Demon Army will protect her now, to which the girl happily replies: "yes".

Later on, in the shower, Shinoa teases Mitsuba about falling in love Yuichiro, she then also asks her, if she really hates him that much, to which Mitsuba replies, that she does hates him, because he risked the lifes of his comrades. Later, the Shinoa Squad gets attacked by vampires and Mitsuba nearly dies but Yuichiro saves Mitsuba with pulling her close to him. Suddenly being close to Yuichiro seemed to suprise Mitsuba and gets complete red. Mitsuba later tries to thank Yuichiro for saving her, she then also turns complete red, but does not thank him, most likely due her Tsundere attitude.

In Chapter 16, Mitsuba tells Yuichiro that she got promoted and tries to specify with her promotion, to which Yuichiro uninterested answers, "well see ya". Mitsuba tells Yuichiro to wait and not to leave, Mitsuba then rants about how she is weak and clueless on the Battelfield and that she only got promoted because she is part of the Sangu family, and tells Yuichiro to go on and laugh at her. Yuichiro encourages Mitsuba and tells her that he never laughed at her and that she should stop looking down on herself, he then also thanks her for believing in him and that he never stopped believing in her either, which makes Mitsuba noticeable blush.

After that, Yuu and Mitsuba interacted several more times. Mitsuba has been shown several times observing Yuu and Shinoa interaction with jealousy on his face. She worried about Yuu many times and protected him during battles.

After a long time, Mitsuba meets her older sister Aoi again and immediately has an argument with her. Aoi asks Mitsuba why she isn't dead yet and asks her if she hasn't has any shame. Angered Yuichiro asks her what she's doing to Mitsuba. Mitsuba is seen to be worried about him and begs him not to intefere in the argument, which he ignores. Aoi say's that she doesn't want a traitorous sister, indicating that she thinks that Mitsuba is a traitor, she then also say's that Mitsuba betrayed the Hiiragi family. Yuichiro angered screams that she's wrong. Aoi later on says to Yuichiro that he should be quiet and that he's a "stranger". Yuichiro confidently answers that he isn't a stranger and that he is the family of Mitsuba. Yuichiro's answer seemed to shock Aoi a little bit. Seemingly now knowing why Mitsuba betrayed the Demon Moon Army. Aoi shamelessy asks Mitsuba if she sleeped with Yuichiro, to which Mitsuba answers that she shouldn't harass her with him.

Once the argument with Aoi is over, Mitsuba goes to thank Yuichiro, to which Yuichiro calmy answers that she is her family and that she doesn't need to worry about it.

In Chapter 77, when Yuu was in the hospital bed to help Shinoa, Mitsuba was the only one who stayed with Yuu until the end while the others fled. Before Yuu was injected with the medicine, he told Mitsuba that she should be with Shinoa, which shows how much Yuu trusts Mitsuba. After Yuu loses consciousness and an unknown guy tries to kidnap him, Mitsuba tries to protect Yuu and not allow him to be kidnapped, but is defeated. In Chapter 86, after reuniting with Shinoa, she talks many times that Yuu is in danger and they must help him, which shows how much she worries for him. Later, Mitsuba will ride along with the entire squad to help Yuichiro. She will worry about him when she hears him crying. When the squad gets closer to Yuu, Mitsuba is the first one he sees. She waves to him along with the whole squad.

In Chapter 96, when Yuu takes her and Shinoa on his shoulders, Mitsuba blushes after Yuu says they are all friends.

In Chapter 101, Mitsuba says that she will hit Yuichiro if he dares to die. Yuu then places his hand on hers.

Fanon

MitsuYuu is a rare-pair within the Seraph of the End fandom, while it's one of the more popular ship's for Mitsuba, it still gets overshadowed by MitsuNoa on Mitsuba's side. Yuichiro otherwise, has several more popular ship's such as MikaYuu and YuuNoa.

While having a small fanbase, MitsuNoa, still got some attention, mostly due Mitsuba's heavily implied crush on Yuichiro, which is mostly pointed out by Shinoa.
