Miyu and Haruna are members of the same DJ Group "Lyrical Lily" . Miyu is their leader and vocals while Haruna is the DJ. The two are childhood friends since Elementary school, and have gone to the same school since then. Haruna was initially too shy to speak to Miyu but eventually became friends with her through Miiko.
Haruna is seen to be very strict on rules while Miyu is more willing to branch out with a bit of hesitation. Haruna is very weak to Miyu's unintentional charms. Haruna calls Miyu an "angel" and her "idol" , usually giving in to anything Miyu seems to want.
Main Story[]
Miyu feels as if something is missing in her time in Arisugawa Academy. Haruna gets pranked by Kurumi and Miiko with a fake snake and Miyu gets Haruna to calm down after telling Haruna that people are watching. Miiko and Kurumi are then punished to clean the academy's warehouse but Miyu wants to help, which Haruna follows under the guise of supervision. Miiko ends up telling Miyu a spooky story which makes Miyu knock down some boxes, immediately making Haruna question if she's hurt and want to bring Miyu to the nurses office or call an ambulance. This collision allows for the girls to find a record player which Miiko and Kurumi want to hear work, Haruna disagrees until Miyu also says that she wants to hear the record player which makes Haruna agree to play it. After they play the record player, Haruna says they can't play it anymore as it is against the school's rules. Miyu yearns to have fun with the record player again and asks Miiko, Kurumi and Haruna if they can continue. Haruna initially disagrees but when she sees Miyu's dedication, she gives in again and agrees. After the girls DJ meet ups are revealed to the school, they are seperated. Haruna calls Miyu without her parents knowing saying that she was worried about Miyu and they talk about the consequences of their actions. Those consequences end up being nothing to worry about and the girls can continue Lyrical Lily without breaking any rules.
White Corsage of Dearest Love[]
Haruna offers to help her teacher sort some old paperwork, in doing so, Haruna drops some papers that reveal the old tradition of giving a corsage to someone you care deeply for, as a sign of affection on White Day. The tradition has been extinct for years and the teacher explains that she has regrets of never giving a corsage to one of her teachers. Haruna thinks the entire tradtion was sweet and she thinks about who she would give a corsage to if she had the chance, that person being Miyu. Haruna can't help but imagine Miyu's happy reaction to getting a corsage and immediately squeals and gets flustered about her fantasy.
Haruna debates giving Miyu a corsage, but in doing so, everytime she runs into Miyu she screams in embarassment and rushes to get away to Miyu's confusion. Miiko and Kurumi decide to investigate what has been making Haruna so jumpy. Haruna refuses to tell the two before Miiko and Kurumi say that they're going to tell Miyu about Haruna's unknown "special someone." Haruna tells Miiko and Kurumi about the tradition and Miiko and Kurumi immediately assume it's for Miyu as Haruna has been acting more nervous than usual around Miyu. Miiko and Kurumi decide to support Haruna's endeavors and figure out a way to let Haruna practice.
Miiko and Kurumi's idea ends up being an amusement park trip with Rei as she is close enough in personality as Miyu. Haruna has reservations about using Rei to practice on but begrudingly accepts it and tries not to treat it as practice. Try as she might, Haruna can't get the idea of "practice" out of her mind and she becomes more uptight to the point where she starts imaginging Miyu in the place of Rei, even accidentally calling Rei by Miyu's name.
White day finally comes and Haruna has a corsage picked out but can't stop getting flustered just looking at it. Haruna continues to keep running away from Miyu instead of giving her the corsage. Haruna fears messing up and making Miyu feel uncomfortable but Kurumi and Miiko convince Haruna finally give it to her. Haruna then realizes that she doesn't know how Miyu feels about her, whether she's a friend or more.
While Haruna, Miiko, and Kurumi are away, Miyu finds out about the corsage tradition from a teacher and finds it to be a nice sentiment. Kurumi and Miiko call Miyu to go to the chapel and Haruna scares Miyu as a prank advised from Kurumi. Miyu's lack of reaction (other than the initial fear) makes Haruna's overthink and believe she's already ruined her chance. Miyu stops those thoughts with a laugh and is glad that Haruna isn't avoiding her anymore. Haruna takes her chance and gives Miyu the corsage and explains the tradition with a blush on her face. Miyu says thank you and says that she has something for Haruna as well. Miyu takes Haruna out to her personal garden where a white marguerite is grown and Miyu gifts it to Haruna. Haruna tries to refuse since Miyu worked so hard to care for it but Miyu insists and says she would've gotten Haruna a corsage if she knew about the tradition prior. Haruna accepts the flower and at the end of the day she runs into a teacher that tells her that the meaning of the white marguerite is both "trust" and "secret love" which makes Haruna flustered at the possibility of Miyu liking her like that.
Although Haruna's feelings for Miyu had been heavily hinted at for a long time, they were explicitly confirmed in the "Solution, to the Summer Sunset" event.
Quotes[]
- “The scent of sweet osmanthus is so nice—it's like Haruna-chan's fragrance. Wait, that's fabric softener?”
- — Miyu on game homescreen
- Miyu – “You're a great friend, Haruna-chan. I really admire how you keep us all in line, and I know that whatever happens, you'll be there for me. But sometimes... I worry about you. You never back down, and you're a hard worker and that's great, don't get me wrong. I just don't want you to feel like you have to deal with all that pressure on your own. Haruna-chan... It's okay for you to rely on me now and then, you know? You mean a lot to me so I want to be there for you.”
- Haruna – “Miyu-san... I had no idea you felt that way.”
- Miyu – “I do. So... will you accept this flower from me?”
- — Episode 6 of "White Corsage of Dearest Love"
- Teacher – “Oh...? Looks like you're wearing a white flower as well.”
- Haruna – “Yes. I got it from a dear friend of mine! I gave her a corsage, and she gave me this in return.”
- Teacher – “Well, it certainly is pretty. And it must have taken a lot of courage to give her yours first. By the way, Kasuga-san. Do you know what marguerites symbolize?”
- Haruna – “Huh? No, I don't think I do...”
- Teacher – “Heehee. Well, in the language of flowers... They mean "trust," but also "a secret love."”
- Haruna – “S-secret...? Wh-Whaaat?!”
- Teacher – “Heehee. Well, I'll see you in class tomorrow.”
- Haruna – “(Secret love? Seriously? Then does that mean...? Nonono, it's just a coincidence, right? I mean, Miyu-san couldn't have known that, could she? Could she? But what if... Nrrrgh...! I have a feeling I've got another sleepless night ahead of me...)”
- — Episode 7 of "White Corsage of Dearest Love"
- Miyu – “Haruna-chan. Are you looking for something?”
- Haruna – “Oh, Miyu-san. Actually, I thought of making a herbarium, so I'm looking for the materials.”
- Miyu – “A herbarium...? Why?”
- Haruna – “...I wanted to keep the precious feelings I received from Miyu-san close to me for as long as possible.”
- Miyu – “...! Haruna-chan...!”
- Haruna – “Thank you once again, Miyu-san!”
