Mizuemu is the non-binary ship between Mizuki Akiyama and Emu Ootori from the Project SEKAI fandom.
Canon[]
Emu and Mizuki do not have many interactions. They are first shown interacting in a short area conversation at the shopping mall, where Mizuki sees Emu trying on certain kinds of clothes and saying she must be very interesting. The conversation ends with Mizuki calling out to Emu, who innocently tilts her head. They eventually interact more in the story, such as during the To You, My Caring Companion event.
Since Mizuki and Emu's lack interactions, people ship them due to their similarities. Their groups may be drastically different, but these two share a few things in common; they're both the only people in their groups with pink hair, Emu's being more saturated while Mizuki's is light. In their respective groups, they are both the happiest on the outside. Their bubbly and out-going personalities help bring their bandmates out of their comfort zones. When their groups are in trouble, they're always the ones putting in the most effort to fix the problem.
They also share interests, both of them like wearing cute clothes and shopping in the mall. Their first ever area conversation was the both of them bumping into each other at the mall, where Mizuki finds interest in Emu and calls out for her. Both of them enjoy sweets as in their splash arts, Emu throws candy from a bowl into air and Mizuki has a lollipop in her hand. They also both wear a bow on their heads.
While they are happier ones of the group, they also share the habit of neglecting their emotions. Emu and Mizuki both put on a smile despite their true feelings, as to not worry their group mates. Coincidentally, they both have their own respective events dedicated to figuring out these emotions, and learning to put more trust on themselves and others. They both go through different journeys of true self-expression.

Mizuemu is considered a rarepair in the fandom, growing slightly in popularity after their interaction in the April Fools 2024 Event. Most fan works include the two going on shopping dates, dancing, or eating candy together as those are their shared interests. Many fans enjoy the bubbliness both characters radiate, and think their personalities would fit well together. Fans also enjoy how the characters relate to each other, with both of them hiding their true emotions in favors of others. Mizuemu only has 11 fanfictions on AO3, but more of their content can be found on Tiktok and Twitter.
