Mizunene is the non-binary ship between Mizuki Akiyama and Nene Kusanagi from the Project SEKAI fandom.
Canon[]
Mizuki and Nene attend Kamiyama High as second-year students and have passed by each other through the halls.
Both are mutual friends with Rui Kamishiro, Mizuki's junior high friend and Nene's childhood friend and neighbor. As Rui and Nene joined Wonderlands x Showtime and continued their theater endeavors, it is known that Mizuki is the one who made Rui and Nene's stage outfit.
In the "Kamiyama High Festival!" event, whilst Mizuki is in search of Tsukasa, they run by the announcement for the Kamiyama Gaming Tournament. The winner being: Nene Kusanagi. They stop and compliment Nene saying, "I think I've heard of that shooter. Isn't it supposed to be super hard?...She must be amazing. Maybe I should get that game too..." In the end, Nene joins Mizuki and the others on the rooftop. Mizuki goes on to say, "I used to just observe people from the rooftop, but now I have friends of my own to hang out with..."
In the "What's on your mind? Exciting Picnic!" event, Nene and Rui come across Mizuki to help them support their friends who had fallen down a steep hill.
In the first side story of Rui's 3* card "Runaway Thought Process", Nene shows concern for Rui's worry of Mizuki, asking about their history as junior high friends, and encouraging Rui to go talk to them.
April Fool's 2022[]
In the limited time April Fool's AU, the two participate in their group called Kyujitsu, Shumijin Doushi de (Fellow Hobbyists on Days Off) along with Minori Hanasato and Honami Mochizuki.
They are an online group, created by Mizuki, who discusses and participate in one another's hobbies. Recently, they've been having in-person meetings.
All four of them covered Venom by Kairiki Bear.
Fanon[]
As of now, Mizunene is considered a rarepair. It’s currently rivaled with each other's more mainstream pairings Mizuena, Ruinene, and Emunene.
Their contrasting personalities, Mizuki being expressive and carefree with a mature undertone whilst Nene tending to be shy and blunt, creates an opposites attract dynamic.
Although, their interactions are limited it has attracted some fans due to their mutual close friendship with Rui Kamishiro. Both tend to easily berate and tease Rui, making the possible duo an entertaining pair.
