MoeMiwa is the femslash ship between Moe Yanagida and Miwa Honjo in the Tokyo Mew Mew fandom.

Canon

Tokyo Mew Mew (2002)

Miwa and Moe were classmates in school and eventually became best friends along with Ichigo Momomiya. When the three were around thirteen years old, they were in middle school together. Ichigo developed a crush on the most popular boy, Masaya Aoyama, and the two secretly supported her when asking him on a date. After the date, they asked Ichigo how her date went and they both also noticed that she was acting strange, as she fell over a ledge and still landed on her feet, picked up a fish with her mouth, and started to fall asleep in class, even sometimes sleep-talking and meowing. Moe and Miwa would often exchange glances when they thought that Ichigo was acting odd but did not think much of it.

Moe and Miwa both developed crushes on Ryō and Keiichiro around the same time after running into them in scenarios in which their crushes aided them. Ichigo later invited the two of them to Cafe Mew Mew for a cake buffet and they both giggled at Ichigo when she claimed they did not know what it was like to be in love. They were both shocked to see their new crushes across the restaurant and learned that Ichigo worked with them. Moe and Miwa both decided to have tea with their new crushes at Cafe Mew Mew and were inspired to make gifts to express their love.

Ryō and Keiichiro blew Moe and Miwa off to search for Mew Aqua, so they left their gifts by the cash register. Ichigo tried to cheer them up, but they both accepted that they were rejected. Moe and Miwa were then attacked by Kish and had their spirits infused with chimera animals. After Ichigo saved them, they woke up in a bed together in Cafe Mew Mew. Ryō and Keiichiro both told them that they accepted their gifts, but Moe and Miwa later told them outside that they were too young to date them and that they wanted to be their fan-girls instead.

One day at school, Ichigo showed up at school and found that only Miwa was there while Moe was nowhere to be seen. Miwa explained that Moe's mother just had a baby, and that Moe had been an only child, so this was a huge event for her, and she decided to take the day off of school. Moe had explained this to Miwa, and she and Ichigo were both happy for Moe and her mother.

Tokyo Mew Mew New

Moe and Miwa had both been best friends for a long time along with the third member of the their trio, Ichigo. They started high school together and were in the same class. On the first day of school, Ichigo saw multiple classmates in love and said that she wanted to fall in love too. She then saw Masaya Aoyama and picked him to crush on, with Moe and Miwa commenting that he was the most popular boy and would be hard to get. However, Ichigo insisted on pursuing him, so Moe and Miwa decided to support her efforts and help gather information about him.

When Ichigo turned into a cat for the first time, Tokyo Tower was attacked by a large chimera animal. The attack quickly went viral and Ichigo was trying to travel to the scene of the battle, but she was stuck in her cat form. Ichigo later stumbled upon Moe and Miwa, who were watching videos of the attacks on their phone together and commenting that the 'pink mew mew' was not there. At some point after the battle ended, Moe and Miwa were eating lunch outside with Ichigo. Masaya then arrived and referred to Ichigo by her first name, which surprised them. They then revealed their relationship and Moe and Miwa were happy for them.

Fanon

MoeMiwa only has a small amount of support in the Tokyo Mew Mew fandom and is considered to be a rare-pair. Moe and Miwa are both minor characters and are often overlooked when compared to main cast, with some even lamp-shading this by labeling the two as Ichigo's 'generic BFFs'. However, as the two do not have any canon love interests besides unrequited crushes on older guys in the original anime, some fans pair them together to give each other love interests. On AO3, there are currently three works for the pairing.
