Moelody is the femslash ship between Melody and Moana from the The Little Mermaid and Moana fandoms.
Canon[]
Melody and Moana come from two different movies and, as such, have never met in canon. However, Melody's mother, Ariel, does share the screen with Moana in the film Ralph Breaks the Internet. This implies that the two girls may be able to interact in this world. However, it is important to note that Ariel appears in Ralph Breaks the Internet in her design from the original film rather than the sequel. It is possible that Melody is not even born in the world of Oh My Disney.
Melody and Moana share many similarities. Moana is the sixteen year old, only daughter of the chief of Motunui. Melody is the twelve year old, only daughter of the King and Queen of her kingdom. They are both girls that love the water, yet have been forbidden to explore it by their over-protective parents. They are both princesses, although Moana does dispute this fact in her film. Despite this, they both seem uncomfortable with the idea of being royalty, or one day leading their people. They are both seen as more "awkward" and "relatable" than many of the classic princesses.
They each have a special connection with a necklace; Moana's holds the heart of Te Fiti and Melody's tells her the truth of her mermaid past. Moana is chosen by the ocean, and Melody is part-mermaid, which means both also have a special, magical connection with the water. They each have a single grandparent that plays an important role in the plot of their films. Neither of their movies revolve around romance, and are instead stories about the girls finding themselves while taking part in an adventure. Each of them are able to reunite their people with the water by the end of their respective films.

Moelody is a rarepair. Melody herself is a rather underappreciated character in the Disney fandom as she is a character appearing exclusively in a straight-to-video sequel. However, there are a small number of fans that have noticed the similarities between the two and begun to ship them. While the ship pales in comparison to the popularity of Moariel, the crossover ship between Moana and Melody's mother, there is more of a similarity between Moana and Melody than there is Moana and Ariel. It could be argued that Moana and The Little Mermaid II are films that follow almost the exact same basic structure and narrative progression.
