Moonflower is the slash ship between Astro and Dandy from the Dandy's World fandom.
Canon[]
Astro and Dandy are characters from Dandy's World. Although, only Astro is playable as Dandy can't be played by normal players so they don't have any interactions in the elevator. However, Dandy is sometimes mentioned when Astro is talking to other toons. They are also close friends with Astro showing concern for Dandy, as seen through his interaction with Pebble. He also seems to talk to Dandy about past episodes quite often, as in one of his interactions with Connie she mentions that their chats were boring because that is all what they were talking about when she was sneaking around.
Despite not interacting much with the other Mains like Sprout, Shelly, and Vee, Dandy still has a close relationship with Pebble who is his rock dog, and Astro. In one of the Rainbow Room maps, there is a TV that shows a cartoon of Dandy talking to Astro. It is currently unknown what they were talking about. They are shown together sitting next to a tic-tac-toe game in one of the photos that can be found throughout the game. It seems that the photo was taken during 1988 and has a caption which states, "I'm so happy they're friends."
They also appear together in one of the posters that are in-game. The poster is named 'Argumentative Woes' and shows Shrimpo and Dandy talking to each other with Astro standing nearby. In one of the storyboards that are scattered throughout the game, they are seen together with Shrimpo in it. The storyboard is of a frame from episode 12 of Season 3. It seems that Shrimpo got mad at Astro for whatever reason and points his finger at him. Dandy tries to assure Shrimpo that everything is fine and tries to reason with him. However, Shrimpo is still not happy and says something which makes Dandy question his statement. Although, it is unknown what the episode from the storyboard is about, it seems that the aforementioned poster and the storyboard might be connected because the same toons appear in both cases.

Moonflower is one of the most popular ships in the fandom. This ship became popular due to the nature of Astro's and Dandy's relationship of being close friends, despite the events that happen during the game because Dandy seems to be connected to them. People also like how Astro seems to be worried for Dandy as shown in his interaction with Pebble. In fancontent, it is common to see Astro look out for Dandy with the other being worried about their situation. Although, due to its popularity it has also attracted quite a bit of hate.
People like to wonder what conversations do Astro and Dandy hold outside of talking about past episodes, because in his interaction with Connie it seems that the idea of her eavesdropping one of their conversations is very important to him. Though, he does apologize to her after finding out that she was sneaking around for one of 'those' kinds of conversations. This has made fans wonder about the relationship the two have, and usually fanworks like to show them having conversations with each other about topics that only Dandy and the owners of Gardenview only know about.
A popular theory in the community is that Astro knows about Twisted Dandy. This is because in order to get Astro, his 3rd requirement is to encounter Dandy's twisted version. It's also because of the dialogue that Dandy has when a player buys Astro in his shop, as upon purchase he responds with, "...". This has spawned fanworks where Astro tries to find out why Dandy has been so off lately, and tries to help his friend. Whether Astro succesfully keeps his friend from becoming twisted or not, depends on the work in question. Considering the events that happen in the game, most likely Dandy still becomes his twisted version as does every other toon eventually. There are also lots of fanwork of the two with Astro in his normal version and Dandy already in his twisted form, and rarely vice versa.
They are sometimes viewed as a toxic ship. However, the creator of the game, Qwelver, has confirmed their relationship is not toxic. She has also confirmed that no ship is canon even though some believe their relationship is implied to be romantic.
The ship usually rivals Mistletoe, Moonberry, Moonshell and Veestro. It is commonly shipped alongside other popular ships such as Shellvision or Fruitcake.
