Pokémon Master Journeys[]
It all starts in the episode "Nightfall? Nightmares!", where Chloe had to stay and camp in a forest in the Sinnoh region, to feed her Eevee a meal she had been preparing herself using a bonfire. A rustling of leaves from bushes sounds and Piplup runs out of there, falling straight into the pot of food that was already quite hot, causing Piplup to get burned. Afterwards, the voice of his trainer who was looking for him was heard, but she ends up stumbling. Chloe asks if she's okay, to which the trainer replies not to worry.
The trainer is grateful that Chloe indirectly saved her, since she and her Piplup did not have enough food. The trainer introduces herself as Dawn and that's how she meets Chloe. Dawn proposes to Chloe that they travel together to Eternal City. There they decide to camp in the same tent and together they sleep in sleeping bags.
The next morning, Dawn was still asleep, but Chloe, upon waking up, realized that her long hair was disheveled from rolling around in her sleeping bag. Upon realizing this, Chloe starts screaming in panic, which wakes Dawn, even asking her not to look at her hair in this condition. Dawn, upon getting up, is not surprised enough with her hair that was also disheveled.
Still in their pajamas, Dawn and Chloe come out of the tent and Piplup helps straighten their hair with Bubble Beam. Together they begin their journey. In the midst of this, Dawn begins to show Chloe many amusements, such as a spring, climbing a tree, eating berries, and even resting in the middle of the road. Chloe begins to worry about the delay Dawn was causing and the two begin to argue as they travel into the afternoon.
Dawn and Chloe apologize each other for their argument.
Suddenly, a Rhydon starts attacking from the bushes, annoyed at not sleeping and Dawn and Chloe are forced to engage it in a wild battle. Chloe's Eevee starts with Tackle, though it doesn't do much damage. Piplup uses Bubble Beam that doesn't quite weaken Rhydon, who ends up defeating Piplup with Rock Blast. Chloe's Eevee reacts by using Copycat, copying Piplup's Bubble Beam and using it against Rhydon, weakening it instantly. Rhydon falls asleep in the middle of the road and Dawn apologizes to Chloe for the argument.
Chloe gets surprised when Dawn tells her that the coordinator Johanna is her mom.
Later they encounter an injured Cresselia, who was glowing with a pink halo. In the next episode "A Midsummer Night's Light!", Dawn and Chloe decide to tend to the injured Cresselia. This one starts to attack, but Eevee manages to communicate with her, causing Cresselia to calm down. Chloe is surprised when Dawn has knowledge of how to heal Pokémon. The next night, Dawn tells Chloe all of her previous adventures and travels through the regions of Sinnoh, Hoenn, Unova and Johto, revealing that Dawn actually learned medicinal knowledge from Brock.
Chloe reveals that she still can't make up her mind what kind of trainer she wants to become, so Dawn suggests her to participate in Pokémon contests, even taking the dancing pose with Chloe. She even changes outfits to show off one she wears to the contests and demonstrates to Chloe how a Pokémon coordinator performs, successfully getting Piplup to show off his Whirlpool. Chloe also tries to get Eevee to use the same move, but since Eevee was inexperienced in Pokémon contests, it ended up dropping its own Whirlpool towards Chloe, dunking her on the spot. Some time later, Chloe is healing Cresselia and starts talking about the Lunar Dance move to heal their allies.
When Chloe and Dawn fall asleep, Cresselia shows them a dream where they are in a foggy town where people fall asleep and then Darkrai shows up who is fulfilling his purpose which is to put people to sleep with nightmares and Cresselia shows up with sweet dreams and waking them up with their Lunar Wing.
Dawn and Chloe realize that someone is chasing them and when they realize they see that it is Ash and Goh, Ash upon meeting his friend they get excited and Goh tells them that they better sit down to talk. Ash tells him that Dawn traveled together with him and Brock through the Sinnoh region and Goh asks Chloe why she is single Team Rocket's Grunts show up and the four boys start to give them a fight. Darkrai wants to help, but he is weakened by Team Rocket, who captures everyone in the net. Surprisingly, Cresselia heals Darkrai and he puts all of Team Rocket to sleep with his Dark Void.
Everyone returns to their respective homes, making Chloe understand the true nature of the Pokémon, where she sees that Darkrai feels lonely just because she can't control the nightmares he causes and that's why Cresselia is always near Darkrai so he doesn't feel alone, after saying this, Chloe could understand the feelings of both Pokémon, just like her father would do.
The next day, Professor Cerise talks to Chloe to ask how she was doing and Chloe tells her that she is fine. When hanging up, Chloe tells them that it's time to go to Dawn's contest, but she tells her that she should have fun in the sea first and even invited Ash and Goh to have fun with the four of them. In the following episode "All Out, All of the Time!", it is implied that Ash and Goh left Dawn with Chloe on their own.
Much episodes later, near the end of Master Journeys, in the episode "The Gates of Warp!", Dawn calls Chloe and her friends to help her investigate a "strange" problem that was causing portals. Team Rocket attacks them by surprise by kidnapping Lucario and Inteleon, and Dawn is unable to accompany Chloe, as she left with Goh by crossing a portal.
Finally in the episode "Showdown at the Gates of Warp!", Ash and Chloe are reunited with Dawn and Goh, but with the surprise that there are people just like them, from the other world because of the portals. Together they discover the problem was actually caused by the fight between Dialga and Palkia, provoked by Team Rocket from the other world in order to steal the Pokémon. Ash, his friends, and their counterparts, they're all turned into toddlers, and all of their Pokémon are reverted into Eggs.
Everyone begins to send their feelings to Arceus for him to restore everything to normal. After this, Dawn, Chloe and their friends returned to the normal world, happy that everything is back to normal.
Ultimate Journeys[]
Chloe & Dawn eventually went to Galar to cheer Ash during his battle with Leon.
Fanon[]
MoonlightBlossomShipping has some following, especially from those who like slash and femslash ships. Although the Journeys series is not over yet, some fans speculate that just like Goh, Chloe might start to have feelings for Dawn, even speculating that she is a lesbian. JourneyShipping fans also often pair Dawn with Chloe due to the similarities between the four.
However, like JourneyShipping, MoonlightBlossomShipping also tends to receive some hate from het shippers, since they consider that this pairing works better as friendship.
