NagiKari is the femslash ship between Nagisa Misumi and Hikari Kujo from the Pretty Cure fandom.

Canon

Hikari was sent to the Garden of Rainbows, where earth was located, as the queen's life in human form wondering who she was. Nagisa first saw her from a distance and found her to be familiar even though they had not met before. Hikari likewise found Nagisa and Honoka to be familiar despite having never met them. Hikari was later transferred to Verone Academy as a first year student, while Nagisa was entering her third year there. Nagisa tried to approach Hikari at the end of the school day, and she tried to respond, but two of Hikari's classmates interrupted them, and one of them expressed jealousy that Hikari seemed to know Nagisa who was well known as an upperclassman and captain of the lacrosse team.

Nagisa first formally met Hikari when she went to eat at Akane's recently renovated takoyaki stand. They introduced themselves to each other and Hikari was revealed to be Akane's 'cousin' who was helping her work in exchange for living with her, which they found to be odd since Nagisa was a regular customer of Akane's for quite some time and she had never mentioned a cousin before. At a later point in time, when Hikari was alone with Nagisa and Honoka, they were forced to transform into Pretty Cure in front of her when a Zakenna attacked. The fairy Pollun allowed Hikari to transform into Shiny Luminous and boost their attacks.

Hikari was later identified by Wisdom and the Elder as the Queen's life in human form, and she and Nagisa worked together along with Honoka to gather the twelve heartiels and fight off any Zakennas that threatened humanity. Nagisa and Hikari became close friends during this time. Hikari learned about friendship and love through Nagisa and supported her in her romantic endeavors toward her crush Fujimura. When eleven of the heartiels were gathered, Hikari disappeared, and Nagisa was worried.

Nagisa checked with both Akane and the school to search for Hikari and was surprised to find that everybody besides her and Honoka were forgetting about her. They found her in the Dotsuku Zone where Baldez was trying to get Hikari to revive the king. Nagisa stated that she did not want the Queen to be revived if it meant Hikari disappearing, but Hikari decided to reform the Queen anyway to battle the Evil King. When the Queen appeared, Nagisa was upset, but Hikari spoke though her and told her she was okay before helping her and Honoka deal the finishing blow.

Nagisa was depressed after the end of the final battle over the loss of Hikari, and went to Akane's takoyaki stand along with Honoka. To their surprise, they found Hikari alive and well at the takoyaki stand along with her new 'younger brother.' Nagisa was overjoyed and they continued to be friends.

Fanon

NagiKari has a small amount of support in the Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart fandom. It is greatly overshadowed due to the overwhelmingly popular NagiHono pairing, Nagisa's canon crush on Fujimura, and possible their age difference and the fact that Hikari is not introduced until the Max Heart series. Some fans who do wish to ship Hikari would rather ship the poly varient NagiHonoHika because it pairs all three of the cures together and leaves nobody behind. NagiKari is a rival to the NagiHono and FujiNagi ships.
