Nagramord is the het between Urgan Nagru and Silvamord from the Redwall fandom.
Canon[]
Appearing in the novel The Bellmaker, Nagru and Silvamord both hailed from the land of ice and snow. How they became mates is unknown, but Silvamord witnessed Nagru skinning the dead wolf Urgan. She went along with his claims that he’d fought and killed the creature and his uses of Urgan’s name and the title “Foxwolf.” The two led a horde of gray rats that managed to conquer their homeland. However, faced with the unassailable winter of a land their wars had made barren, the two foxes took their army aboard a trio of ships and set sail.
Following seasons of weary travel, the small fleet arrived in warmer latitudes. Nagru bayed to the sky in triumph, with Silvamord joining in as they celebrated their victory. They soon set their sights upon the land of Southsward, a heretofore peaceful kingdom. Nagru and Silvamord visited the capital of Castle Floret, and were admitted as guests. However, Silvamord soon helped Nagru to take Prince Truffen hostage, forcing the squirrel’s parents to open Floret to the rat hordes.
Nagru and Silvamord are soon reigning as king and queen of Southsward, but their good fortune doesn’t stop the pair from bickering. When a cruel prank of Silvamord’s goes awry, Nagru mocks her. Then, when Silvamord tries to forbid the rightful rulers of Southsward from leaving their banqueting hall, Nagru dismisses her apparent concern. She responds by insulting him, and Nagru threatens her and warns her against showing disrespect to him over a failed attempt at spite. Silvamord is just as quick to threaten him with a spear, and her instincts about the royals prove correct as they embark on an escape attempt.
In attempting to halt this, Silvamord is dragged into the castle moat. Nagru, emerging from the castle after her, berates her for this, only for Silvamord to remind him that he was the one who was going to let the royals leave unopposed. Before taking several of their rats off in pursuit of the escaping queen and prince, Nagru deliberately gives Silvamord a back slap that causes her to topple back into the moat. When Nagru returns battered and empty-pawed due to the resistance of two of the royals’ stout defenders, Silvamord is quick to vent her contempt towards him. Nagru fires back his own shots, but Silvamord mocks his claims that he would have skinned the two fighters by revealing that she is fully aware that the wolf Urgan he claims to have slain was already dead when Nagru found and skinned him.
When Silvamord ponders aloud how their horde would react to this revelation, Nagru threatens her again but is quickly dismissed. After some more arguing, the two agree that they should turn their attention to the escaping hostages. When Nagru’s attempt to recapture Serena and Truffen is thwarted by three adventurers, Silvamord mocks him yet again as they confront the captured creatures. The prisoners prove insolent, and Silvamord snaps at Nagru when he prevents her from killing them. Nagru, who wants information from the trio, allows his mate to play “bad cop” as he attempts to reason with them.
When the friends still refuse, Nagru has his guards keep Silvamord from attacking them, hoping to starve them into submission despite Silvamord’s desire to torture them. The trio soon manage not only to escape but to free Gael Squirrelking and an imprisoned shrike before taking refuge in the top of one of Floret’s towers. As Nagru directs an assault on them, Silvamord mocks his tactic of sending rats in to confront the murderous bird. When Nagru asks sarcastically for her input, Silvamord orders archers to shoot the shrike, who narrowly escapes death. A herald from the pair later addresses the beleaguered escapees in the name of Nagru “and his Queen Silvamord.”
Disgusted with Nagru’s continued ineptitude, Silvamord discusses strategy with her maid and dismisses Nagru as a typical male. The maid flatters Silvamord as “the real power on the throne of Southsward”, a slight against Nagru that Silvamord does nothing to refute. Meanwhile, a spy acting for Silvamord also reports to Nagru on his mate’s activities. When the sniveling rat tries to elicit a reward for his services, Nagru informs him that his reward is being allowed to live after dealing treacherously with both Nagru and Silvamord. Nagru then has a rat serving Silvamord promoted to captain, only for him to be killed when Nagru sends him to address the escapees with an ultimatum.
Later, after receiving word of an escape attempt by the fugitives, Nagru has word sent to Silvamord. Though she responds sulkily, Nagru makes an attempt at reconciliation. Dubious of his intentions, Silvamord agrees, but rejects his suggestion for a course of action to intercept their former captives. Nagru approves her alternative proposal but comments on her rejection, and Silvamord responds with a jab about his having her watched. The two set about on Silvamord’s plan, though Nagru refuses to take charge when she looks to him for approval.
When the mousemaid Mariel knocks Nagru down and flees, Silvamord pursues her instead of attending to her mate. Mariel manages to elude them, and Silvamord soon resumes mocking her mate. Nagru retorts by pointing out that Silvamord’s plan failed to snare any of their intended captives. Silvamord is quick to respond that had they followed Nagru’s initial plan, the prisoners would have escaped unopposed. Upon hearing that the drawbridge is being attacked, the two put aside their quarrel, and Silvamord even commends Nagru for guessing that a diversion is in progress.
Both foxes later receive word that Rab Streambattle and Muta, who interfered with their pursuit of Queen Serena and Prince Truffen, are miraculously still alive. Silvamord responds with horror, while Nagru is both angry and incredulous. The two join in the defense of Floret after Mariel and her two allies lower the drawbridge. Nagru eventually orders Silvamord to the battlements with a third of their army. When Silvamord questions his intentions, he declares that he will stand with most of their remaining force in the entryway.
Silvamord approves Nagru’s tactics, and is later delighted when he decides to try and drive out the trio occupying the gatehouse with smoke. Upon seeing the forces attacking Floret scattering, Nagru surprises Silvamord by declaring his intention to pursue them. However, she quickly approves this action, remaining behind to command those of their forces remaining in the castle. This proves to be their last exchange, as both are subsequently killed during the liberation of Southsward from their tyranny.
Fanon[]
Nagramord isn’t a particularly popular ship among Redwall fans, to judge by the amount of fan work in which it appears. It is one of only a few romantic ships involving villains from the franchise, and is thus inherently toxic. Nagru and Silvamord’s relationship is so antagonistic, with even their complimentary exchanges being loaded with barbs and sarcasm. Their sole reason for being together would seem to be that they’re a male and female of the same species, and the only members of that species amongst their army of rats.
