NatsuKoma is the het ship between Natts and Komachi Akimoto from the Pretty Cure fandom.
Canon[]
Natts and Komachi first met after all five members of Pretty Cure were gathered. Natts had been sealed inside of the Dream Collet due to serious injuries, and Komachi and the other four Cures were able to combine their powers to awaken Natts. He had a very cold attitude towards Pretty Cure and was reluctant to trust them at first but quickly warmed up to them, especially Komachi, whom he grew the closest to. Komachi would regularly bring mamedaifuku from her family's bakery for everyone to eat, and this would quickly become Natts' favorite food.
Komachi wrote her first novel, titled Pirate Hurricane, and the other Cures and Coco were impressed. They suggested her to give it to Natts to read, but when he read it, he coldly said that he was not sure what the message of the story was. When Komachi could not answer this, he said that writing a story is pointless if the author cannot convey their message. Komachi ran away crying after this and considered giving up writing altogether while the other Cures scolded Natts, much to his confusion.
Natts later visited Komachi at home to speak with her on the matter in person. He asked her if she was still writing her novel, and she replied that she was not because she felt that she might as well not try if it was bad. Natts then snapped and told her that she did not value her dream if she was giving up that easily, and the other Cures, who were spying on them, scolded him again. They were then attacked by Arachne, who pulled them into the world of Komachi's story. Natts encouraged her, saying that everybody makes mistakes and that she should not give up on her dream. Afterwards, Natts told Komachi that her story needed improvement but that he liked the main character, and Komachi said that she would revise it, and Natts replied that he would read it when she did.
The Cures and fairies from the Palmier Kingdom on earth later went to spend time at a resort owned by Karen's family. Komachi decided to walk around the island to take in the scenery and look for inspiration for her writing, and saw Natts releasing some Pinkies by a tree to relax with him. She watched him from behind a tree but accidentally stepped on a twig, alerting him, so she apologized. They talked about how Natts regretted what happened to his kingdom, but Komachi said they would make his dream come true. Natts thanked Komachi and told her this is why she was the Pretty Cure of Tranquility, but she became embarrassed and ran off.
Later, at a barbecue, Natts noticed that Nozomi and Coco were missing, and Komachi offered to go look for them with him. Natts suddenly turned around and raised his hand at her before revealing that he was just checking on her hand, as she had burned it earlier. Komachi calmed down but blushed as he was checking the burn before they heard Milk screaming and rushed to her aid. While in battle, Komachi was able to use a new attack, Mint Shield, after remembering what Natts said about his dream. Later, Natts and Komachi were on the balconies next to each other, and Natts said something that made Komachi blush.
Komachi revised her novel and had Natts read it, and he gave her his approval, but one particular line got to him. As the others celebrated, Natts clenched a key hanging from his necklace known as the "Key of Hope". The next day, Natts approached Komachi about a new idea for a story, which she accepted. They went to the library together to pick out a book together and were attacked by Bloody, who forced Natts to admit that the fate of the Palmier Kingdom was his fault because he left it unlocked. He felt that he had no right to hold the Dream Collet before Komachi told him not to give up and protected him with her Mint Shield. Back at home, Komachi approached Natts, and he told her to take better care of herself, which made her happy and caused her to cry. He then touched her face which caused her to blush.
Komachi later began to write a romance novel with the two romantic leads based on herself and Natts, but she could not figure out what she wanted to do for the ending. When Urara asked her if it was based on something, she blushed and said it was "pure fiction." She asked the other Cures for advice on how to write the ending, who told her that she should ask Natts, but she was hesitant because she had written the story based on them. Komachi sat on a bench in a park by herself, and Natts approached her. Natts encouraged Komachi to be more courageous, and she admitted she was worried about the future before they were interrupted by Goremun. Komachi later decided to shelve her story until she could come up with the perfect ending.

NatsuKoma is a popular ship in the Yes! Pretty Cure 5! fandom. While the number of works seems small due to the small pool of works on AO3 and FFN, it is still one of the most popular ships for both Natts and Komachi. It is popular due to Komachi's crush on Natts, which many fans believe was reciprocated. NatsuKoma fans believe that Komachi's kind personality brings out the better in Natts' cold personality. On AO3, there are 8 works for the pairing. NatsuKoma is commonly a companion ship to the NozoCoco and ShiroUra ships and rivals the KomaKare ship.
