Negitoro is the femslash ship between Megurine Luka and Hatsune Miku from the Vocaloid and Project SEKAI fandoms.
Canon[]
Miku and Luka are both characters from Vocaloid, a voice synthesizing software. They don't have much canon information (like backstory, personality etc.) because they are supposed to be blank slates for the people to portray. Many produce songs with Miku and Luka as friends or lovers. LuMiku is very common to see when it comes to songs about lesbian relationships other then MikuRin.
Songs[]
Luka and Miku have many songs with them together in a romantic way, that have become quite popular and well known in the community. One of the most famous songs using them is "Magnet" by Minato. Magnet is about how their love is considered "forbidden" because of the homosexual nature of it, but Miku and Luka defies these rules for their love. In the Project Diva MV you can see them in a similar pose to the original art for Magnet. There are plenty of other song including them in a romantic way, some of these songs include:
- "Kissing Fish" by OSTER Project
- "Deja Vu" by VocaCircus
- "Let's Be Honest" by Project OverDose
- "Suki Kirai" Luka & Miku cover by Hyurno (originally by HoneyWorks)
- "Girls' Friendship" by Mitchie M
- "Ladies First" by OSTER Project
Project Diva Songs[]
Project Diva has included a handful of songs into their games using Luka & Miku. One of the most popular using them (other then Magnet) is "Akatsuki Arrival" by Last Note. In the song, they start out as rivals, but grow to love each other. However, by the time they harbor these feelings, Miku passes away. At the end 'roject Diva MV you can see Luka looking off into the distant sunset, mourning for Miku. Another song you could consider as shipping fuel is "Acute" by Kurousa-P. The song is about a love triangle between Miku, Luka, and KAITO. Miku and Luka loving KAITO, but neither of them go into a relationship with him due to them being close friends. However, this plan does not end up working out, as Luka dates KAITO behind Miku's back. This results in Miku trying to end Luka's life. Miku fails, and is sent to a mental hospital for her actions.
Project SEKAI[]
This section is in need of major improvement. Please help improve this article by editing it.
Miku and Luka are the main virtual singers of the School SEKAI, and they play an important role in helping Ichika reconcile with her childhood friends, and form Leo/need.
Fanon[]
Negitoro is one of the most popular ships in the Vocaloid fandom. It started because fans loved how their voices blended and worked well together. Fans also started making fan music videos and fanart for the two. However, you see significantly less content for the ship in the Project Diva series compared to other popular ships. The ship also lacks popularity within the Project SEKAI fanbase, mainly due to the popularity of other ships for both characters.
Some fans view Negitoro negatively due to the difference in mascot ages, but some disregard this supposed age difference due to the freedom of fan interpretations within the Vocaloid fanbase. This difference in opinions causes conflict between Negitoro shippers and other shippers. Despite this, Negitoro remains high in popularity.
Negitoro is rivaled by MikuRin, KaiMiku, MeiLuka, and a few other ships.
Fandom[]
Trivia[]
- Their Kizuna Rank titles are: "Long-Haired Songstress", "Cute & Cool" and "That Dance Hall Someday".
- Their ship name is "Negitoro" because Miku's character item is a leek, which is "Negi" in Japanese. While Luka's character item is a tuna, which is "Toro" in Japanese.
