Nenessandra is the femslash ship between Nene and Cassandra from the Pico's School fandom.

Interactions between Nene and Cassandra are few and far between in the Pico series, with most of them being negative.
In Pico's School[]
In the original 1999 Flash game, Nene and Cassandra's relationship is far from friendly. They never interact on screen, but the school shooting that Cassandra causes shocks and traumatizes Nene to the point that she asks her friend, Pico, to kill her and put her out of her misery.
Very little is known about Cassandra's opinion on Nene, but considering Nene is Pico's friend, it can be assumed that Cassandra dislikes her.
Fanon[]
Despite Nene and Cassandra having zero romantic or even remotely positive interactions in the original game, Nenessandra is quite a popular ship in the Pico's School fandom. It is the second most popular ship for both Nene and Cassandra, only surpassed by its most common rival ships PicNene and Picandra. Darnene is another rival ship, albeit slightly less common, and Cassnell is even less popular.
In the earlier days of the Pico's School fandom, Nene and Cassandra were much more commonly depicted as romantic rivals competing for Pico in a Betty and Veronica dynamic; yet recently it has become more popular to ship them together. Being the only two major female characters in Pico's School, Nene and Cassandra are the only characters with the opportunity for femslash shipping in the fandom (unless Girlfriend from Friday Night Funkin' is included). In rarer cases, they could both be shipped with Pico as a poly ship; or even more rarely, they could be shipped with Girlfriend as a poly femslash ship.
The main appeal of the ship comes from Nene and Cassandra's dissimilarity, as they are polar opposites in both appearance and personality - in particular, Nene's girly appearance and Cassandra's gothic appearance easily fit into the "femme lesbian x butch lesbian" dynamic, with Nene as the femme lesbian and Cassandra as the butch lesbian. Their different weapons of choice (Nene using knives and Cassandra using firearms) is another element that adds to their contrasting characters.
Typically Cassandra is depicted as a cold and aloof person whose icy exterior is "melted" by sweet and bubbly Nene. Another interpretation of Nenessandra involves the popular headcanon that Nene is homophobic; she may be a homophobe who discovers her attraction to girls through Cassandra, or she may have been in denial of her sapphic side all along and is simply pretending to be homophobic in order to mask her romantic feelings for Cassandra (who is canonically queer). Less commonly, the two may be shipped in an "Enemies to Lovers" dynamic similar to Picandra. Cassandra is usually depicted as the more "aggressive/dominant" partner, though sometimes this is reversed and Nene takes on this role instead.
The earliest instance of Nene and Cassandra being shipped together is in Pico 1.5: Casandra's Revenge, a fan-made spin-off to the original Pico's School where the story is told from Cassandra's perspective. In a brief scene where Cassandra rummages through her pockets, she finds a condom that she keeps "just in case Nene's ever up for some."
PhantomArcade, the main artist for Friday Night Funkin', posted a drawing on Twitter of Nene and Cassandra both covered in kiss marks, presumably after kissing each other. This post made Nenessandra grow in popularity in the Friday Night Funkin' fandom and solidified its popularity in the Pico's School fandom as well.

Trivia[]
- Oddly enough, Cassandra is referred to with male pronouns in Casandra's Revenge. Her name is also misspelled in the title.
- Despite the popularity of the "homophobic Nene" headcanon, her creator Tom Fulp has confirmed that she is not actually a homophobe.[1]
- This inaccurate headcanon originated from Friday Night Funkin' HD, a Friday Night Funkin' mod once very popular in 2021 that has now been canceled. In the mod, Nene is depicted as being so extremely homophobic that the mere thought of two men being in a relationship makes her jump off of a rooftop to her death.
