Nera is the het ship between Sara Murphy and Neal from the Milo Murphy's Law fandom.

Canon

Overview

Neal and Sara are boyfriend and girlfriend, who met at the comic book shop where Neal works and Sara regularly goes to read comics. They have a shared interest in nerd culture, pertaining to things like comics, cosplay, and their favorite TV show, Dr. Zone. Although their relationship got off to an awkward start, with neither of them really knowing what to think of each other, they eventually learned to loosen up around each other and take comfort in each others' presences, knowing that the other is just like them in many ways.

Season 1

In "Love Toboggan", Sara went on a date with Neal from the comic shop, although she wasn't sure if it was a date or not. All she had to go on was his cryptic text, "🥪?", which is just a sandwich emoji and a question mark. On their date, Sara had an intrusive thought of blowing her date by word-vomitting a bunch of Dr. Zone crap all over Neal, weirding him out and making him leave her. In reality, she and Neal were just having a quiet, somewhat awkward date, trying to find something to talk about. Sara would imagine a bunch of tiny cosplaying versions of herself, overanalyzing everything Neal said, trying to determine whether or not this was a date. After their meal, Neil invited Sara down to the comic shop so he could show her all the interestingly arranged comic books he had set up. Sara admitted that she was nervous and Neal told her that he felt the same way and brought up how he sometimes envisions tiny cosplaying versions of himself, overanalyzing everything the other person says, leaving Sara in jaw-dropping shock. To make matters worse, Milo, Zack, and Melissa came blasting through the walls on a runaway toboggan, picking up Neal and Sara and taking them with them. Milo sang the song, "Toboggan of Love", which Zack and Melissa were just feeling. After this crazy ride finally ended, Neal told Sara that he was entertained with their first date and then asked Sara if this was, in fact, a date, proving that he was just as unsure about it as she was. Sara held Neal's hand, confirming that she returned his feelings and they watched the beautiful sunset together.

Season 2

In "Game Night", Neal and Sara were at The Murphy House and saw that Milo was actually trying to play a board game and finish. They joined in on the game, along with everybody else. When everybody lost their place, Neal was able to reset the board perfectly and revealed that he had a semi-photographic memory, which Sara thought was so cute.

In "Doof's Day Out", Sara had a conversation about Dr. Zone and Time Ape over the phone with Neal. However, she got really mad when Doofenshmirtz started spying on their phone call with one of his inators.

In "It's Milo's World", Neal and Sara met up at The Three Little Pigs Pulled-Pork Vegan BBQ Restaurant, where they flirtatiously called each other "Neal from the comic shop" and "Sara from the comic shop" and discussed with Zack and Melissa what they thought about Milo Murphy.

Fanon

Nera is the most common ship for both Neal and Sara, due to the fact that they two are really the only two major teenage characters in the show. The only rival ship that holds any water in Krisara but because Kris rarely shows up and little to nothing is known about her, she isn't that common of a partner for Sara. Something about that romantic toboggan ride that Neal and Sara went on in their first episode together, really struck a heart chord with many fans. Nera has 14 works on A03.
