NeruPhone is the cargo ship between Akita Neru and a telephone from the Vocaloid fandom.
Canon[]
Origin[]
Akita Neru is a character derived from Hatsune Miku. But it had such an impact that even future media company Crypton recognized it. She and her item (a yellow telephone) were created by the illustrator Smith Hioka. The concept art from 2007 shows the character with a cell phone for her part-time job as a representation of those negative comments about Hatsune Miku on 2ch, in response to the people who complained about the attempt to make her disappear with a disdainful attitude towards Miku's otaku/fans, who hides her admiration for Miku with a tsundere attitude.
Songs[]
Their relationship is well known thanks to the song Triple Baka released in 2008 by Lamaze-p. Part of the melody uses the sound of Neru typing on her phone with a high-pitched beep and where she does not seem to have any interest in doing anything other than writing on it while her friends, Kasane Teto and Hatsune Miku sing about the sad things that sometimes you have to face in life, but that you should never lose the motivation to keep going forward by calling the person they are referring to an idiot (baka).
Another song that refers to his origin/work is "ok, green is the enemy" by Ichigyou-P, where Rin talks about how he wants to separate Miku from Kaito and decides to ask Neru for help, who offers him to send massive hate messages, but she prefers a less aggressive solution. Even in another song called "no music no life", which uses the same 3D model of Neru, she can be seen with this object as a curiosity and talks about her admiration for Miku and her desire to be as famous as her.

Fanon[]
Often Neru is seen as a low paid 700 yen per hour job that consists of leaving offensive comments on networks, all because of the "Anti-Miku" campaign where she was created to represent those who tried to make Hatsune Miku fans looks bad, but who actually admires her because she is often seen as a tsundere girl. There were so many comments that it was said that she had many phones and that she worked for the company Densetsu, which was said to be behind the whole campaign, but also by the writing she has on her left arm and that the creator will not say what it means, but everyone believes it is for the same company and the avoidance of retaliation.
Other fans, who do not know much about her background, see her as someone who is addicted to technology and chatting on her cell phone (even if ironically she hates otakus) or who simply likes to have a lot of them on hand and spend time on social networks. In addition, most of the representations of the character is always seen with her characteristic telephone as if they were inseparable, It is very normal for the fandom to see her using a yellow clamshell most of the time like in the triple baka song, it is so popular that there are even fan-made models of the object or to be mentioned in stories (fanfics, comic, mmds, etc.) as having owned it.
