During the opening sequence of the show, Wayne and Nichelle sit next to each other during the whistling scene.
Meet The Victims[]
Wayne carries Nichelle on his back.
Wayne and Nichelle are placed on the "Frogs of Death." When Wayne and Raj were unpacking, Wayne told him that their team had "some real hotties," indicating he may have found Nichelle attractive. For the challenge, the two were the bucket carriers for their team. When Emma says "Turn around," Wayne and Nichelle stop, believing she is talking to them. When Wayne runs into a pole, Nichelle appears concerned after hearing. Later, Nichelle doesn't want to run, and so Wayne tells her to give him her bucket and get on his back, saying he's a "piggyback champ." After Wayne jumps in the hot coals, both of them run to the mud puddle to cool down their burns. During the vote, Wayne and Nichelle looked at each other sadly when Chef calls her out for worrying about her looks.
Pirates of the Cabbagean[]
Wayne agrees with Nichelle.
After Wayne compliments Bowie and Emma's "game plan," Nichelle objects. She asks how it's a great game plan if they've only hit the ship once. In response to Nichelle's confusion, Wayne explains it using hockey terms. However, much like the rest of the team, she doesn't understand. Later, Nichelle says "Lets finish this," and Wayne jumps in, agreeing with her. This appears to confuse Nichelle, but she doesn't say anything.
Drown Town Abbey[]
Wayne seems sad when he knows Nichelle will be eliminated.
In the beginning of the episode, Wayne, Raj, Nichelle and Emma are talking about Nichelle's greatest scenes in the movies. Wayne calls one of the scenes in a movie she starred in "sick," and Nichelle tells him that it was super fun to shoot. She adds that the pilot let her fly the plane, much to Wayne's amazement. Once it's Wayne's turn to go during the challenge, Nichelle is confused while seeing Wayne and Raj motivate each other. As Nichelle struggles on the first part of the course, Wayne believes she'll crush the rest of the course, still believing she's an "action hero." Upon finding out Nichelle is a fraud, Wayne gasps. After Nichelle confesses, Wayne is confused, believing that she was talking about a wig that was named Jerry. When Nichelle is crying on the ground, Wayne looks at her with a sad expression, possibly being upset about her soon-to-be elimination. In the confessional, Wayne is in shock that Nichelle can't really do all the cool stuff, beginning to believe all movies and TV shows are lies.
Numbskull Island[]
Although Nichelle wasn't in this episode, she is briefly mentioned by Wayne. He is still in shock about how she can't do any of the cool stunts on TV, trying not to believe she was pretending the whole time.
Magna Cum Laude[]
The two rarely interact in this episode, but they walk next to each other when first entering. When Wayne yells "Wassup" to the final 3, Nichelle smiles at him.
Fanon[]
Nichayne is a fairly popular and well-liked ship throughout the fandom. A lot of people like how Wayne was upset about Nichelle's elimination and how she wasn't as fierce as she seemed in the movies in the first season. Some also liked seeing Wayne admire her, such as him being impressed by her in the movies, or when she showed off her newfound abilities in season 2. Others just find that the two look good together, as much of the fandom does with other ships. As of January 24th, 2023, 5 fanworks exist on AO3.
