Nirmaliyo is the het ship between Nirmala and Baliyo from The Lion King fandom.
Canon[]
Nirmala and Baliyo were both introduced in The Lion Guard season three episode "The Tree of Life" as members of the Night Pride. After Baliyo, recklessly attacked the newly arrived Lion Guard, Nirmala and the others would follow him into the engagement. Nirmala would later watch in astonishment as Baliyo was sent flying by Kion, leader of the Lion Guard, using his Roar of the Elders. After locating a dazed Baliyo, Nirmala would take him to find something to treat his disorientation.
When their leader Rani, Baliyo’s sister, brought word that the Lion Guard were to be welcomed, Nirmala accepted it. Baliyo was rather more reluctant, and Nirmala encouraged him to be calm rather than giving in to his concerns. In “The River of Patience”, after Baliyo is injured and temporarily incapacitated, Rani asks Nirmala to look after him. She later asks Nirmala for an update on Baliyo’s condition, and Nirmala notes that Baliyo will be fine.
In “Long Love the Queen”, Nirmala is the one who informs Baliyo that his grandmother Hanna is about to pass away. When he is reluctant to go to her, Nirmala offers reassurance by promising to be with him during the farewell. In “Triumph of the Roar”, Nirmala and Baliyo are seen sleeping near each other before being awakened by Ullu with news of an attack on the Tree of Life. The two and Surak rush to find Rani, but are then trapped inside the tree and later freed by Kion.
In “Return to the Pride Lands”, the two sit next to each other during Rani and Kion’s wedding ceremony.

Nirmaliyo is not a relationship that has received a great deal of attention from The Lion King fandom. The Lion Guard is not a universally popular addition to the franchise. The implied age difference between the two is also likely a factor. Nirmala’s rival ships include Nirak, with Baliyo’s uncle Surak, and Nirmion, with Kion. Baliyo’s immaturity may be why it’s rare to see him shipped much with any characters. His most notable het ships may be Baliifu and Zuriyo.
