Nishikagi is the het ship between Takagi and Nishikata from the Teasing Master Takagi-san fandom.
Canon[]
Nishikata and Takagi met on the first day of school. When Nishikata gets to his seat after arriving, Takagi asks why he is late. Nishikata, unbeknownst to who he's talking to, explains that it was "all because of that Takagi person" . Takagi is unable to explain that the person he was talking about was her because they all had to leave the room to go to the auditorium. when the class returns from the auditorium, Takagi is missing from her seat. However, she shows up in class late and goes to her seat. She decides to suggest a game to Nishikata, the game being that if she were to guess why he arrived late to class earlier, she would win. Nishikata agrees to this game. Takagi guesses that Nishikata had to return a lost item, and that is why he was late. She holds up the hankerchief that Nishikata had put in the lost and found. Nishikata is shocked that the Takagi person was sitting right next to him, and Takagi officially introduces herself to him. After this day, they had formed a new relationship, where Takagi teases Nishikata frequently, though it is out of love.
Eraser[]
In class, Takagi asks Nishikata for his eraser, as she forgot hers. After Nishikata gives her the eraser, Takagi tells Nishikata about a rumor she heard. The rumor goes that if someone were to put the name of their crush on an eraser and use up the entirety of said eraser, their feelings would be reciprocated. Nishikata thinks the rumor is childish, Takagi teases him by making him believe that he wrote a name on his eraser. Nishikata freaks out and asks for the eraser back, saying that she has it wrong and that someone else wrote a name on the eraser. It turns out that there is nothing written on Nishikata's eraser, and Nishikata calls out takagi for it. He then sees that Takagi has her own eraser, and calls her out for that, too. Nishikata gets scolded by the teacher for interrupting his class, and he apologizes for it. When Takagi goes to the bathroom, Nishikata decides to get revenge on her. He wants to write a name on her eraser so he can tease her when she returns from the restroom. He discovers that there is already something written on Takagi's eraser, and takes a look. He is quite disappointed to discover that it is not his name that is written on the eraser. Instead, the eraser says, "look in the hallway." Nishikata does what the eraser says and sees Takagi staring at him through the door. She smiles at him, and he gets shocked because she was able to trick him. Takagi enters the room and says he reacted just how she thought he would. Nishikata says that he will get Takagi back some day, and Takagi says that is impossible, especially with how today, he "missed with a 50/50 chance." Nishikata asks what she means, and it is revealed to the audience that the back of her eraser says 'Nishi', half of Nishikata's name
Day Duty[]
Nishikata has to go to school earlier than usual to clean the blackboard and write the log of the day. Nishikata decides that he will take this opportunity to mess with Takagi's desk. He looks up at his classroom and notices Takagi at the window, and they make eye contact. Nishikata questions why she's here so early and goes to his classroom. When he doesn't see Takagi in the class, he wonders if she left. He disregards that theory, saying that he can feel her presence. He then starts to look for Takagi, and he notices her shoes under the teacher's desk. Nishikata says Takagi was making his plan way too easy , and assumes that Takagi will try to scare him while he's cleaning the blackboard. He says that he is not going to do his day duty chores very loudly, so that Takagi can hear and realize that he figured out her plan. Nishikata then realizes that Takagi would never make the juvenile mistake of leaving her shoes so visible, and goes back to looking for her. Nishikata uses process of elimination and assumes Takagi is in the closet in the classroom. He wants to scare her, and opens the door quickly, only to find that Takagi is not there. Nishikata lolls at his desk wondering why he is even doing this in the first place. The curtains at the window suddenly open, and Takagi reveals herself. She surprises Nishikata, who falls from his seat. Takagi chuckles and asks is he is alright. She then adds that she saw him looking for her the whole time. She laughs slightly and says it was worth waking up early. While Nishikata grumbles about the fact that he lost, Takagi says that there is only them in the classroom, and asks if it feels like they are the only ones in the world. She says she hopes no one else comes into the room, which flusters Nishikata. Nishikata starts to question Takagi, but is interrupted by the arrival of Mina, Sanae, and Yukari. Takagi reminds him about his day duty work, and Nishikata realizes that he forgot about it.
Funny Face[]
Nishikata is in the restroom wondering how he can get back at Takagi. Nakai enters the bathroom soon after and questions if Nishikata is trying to make a pretty face. Nishikat denies this and Nakai asks if he is making a funny face. Nishikata decides to make a funny face, which makes Nakai laugh. Nishikata decides he will use this face to make Takagi laugh and get in trouble during class. When Takagi starts a conversation with Nishikata, he makes the face, which gets no reaction out of Takagi. She then takes a mirror to show Nishikata his face, which makes him laugh, and gets him in trouble with the teacher. Takagi shows Nishikata a better way to do a funny face, and when he follows her instructions, he wonders why she isn't laughing. Takagi says she will laugh very hard if Nishikata looks to his side. Nishikata does so, only to be faced with the teacher right at his desk. Nishikata gets in trouble with the teacher, which causes Takagi to laugh. Nishikata puts his head on his desk and realizes he lost to her again. He decides to not get involved with Takagi again so he doesn't further anger their teacher, but he inevitably glances back at her, and notices that Takagi is doing the same to him. Takagi notes that Nishikata finally looked at her, and says they should have a staring contest. She makes a silly face at him, which makes him laugh out loud and get yelled at by the teacher once more. the episode ends with a narration from Nishikata that states, "Nothing good happens when Takagi-san gets my heart racing."
