NoéJeanne is the het ship between Noé Archiviste and Jeanne from The Case Study of Vanitas fandom.

Canon

Noè meets Jeanne for the first time when Jeanne was travelling with Master Luka to demand a book from Vanitas to destroy and he believed that Vanitas's book was the cause of the vampire curse. If the book were to be destroyed, his brother would recover from being cursed, but Vanitas refused to give the book and said, "It's not a toy for children".

But Vanitas and Noè were pressured by her killing Aura, making them afraid and surrendered to her, with the fact that they did not talk to each other make them fight with her until the veil covering her face was revealed by Vanitas, who had attacked Jeanne first. Her beauty swayed Vanitas and Noè for a while. Noè felt his heart skip a beat and his face turned red. He couldn't take his eyes off of her because he was impressed with her, before cutting back to the next scene of Jeanne attacking them bringing Vanitas and Noè to their senses, try to escape her after knowing that she was the "The Hellfire Witch". Vanitas was very afraid, but Noè wasn't afraid of her and just didn't understand why she's a vampire who doesn't listen to other people's attempts to explain.

Noé plotted with Vanitas to find a way to defeat her. During his fight with Jeanne, he was honored to fight someone so strong and beautiful, but at the same time. Noè says that Jeanne is not as strong as his teacher, while Noè was thinking that, he accidentally caressed and met her eyes, making him stare at the beauty of Jeanne until Noè is defeated in battle, and Noè looked at him hand with a feeling of don't understand, trembling towards her, Although, later he was used by Vanitas and was shocked to see her being kissed in the face by Vanitas.  But he continued to pretend he didn't know and was confused.

Noè is invited to a party with his childhood friend "Domi," and she told Jeanne that she was Ruthven's Bourreau and came to the banquet while walking to the Altus Door, It made Noé feel interested and started thinking about her.

When he arrived at the party, and got lost with Vanitas and Domi, he met with Luka and know his real identity, But of course, what he was interested in was the voice that Luka called "she". It caused him to become interested and mumbled to himself, "That women, she's here too? " If Luka came, she must stay, He has an attraction to her. Noé was suspicious, but he didn't have time to find an answer, and could only contemplate her out of understanding of his feelings.

After finishing the party, Noé sees her again because he and Vanitas went to Ruthven, but couldn't find him, causing them to be invited to the cafe. Noé ate his favorite dessert: Tarte Tatin. While talking about the cursed, Jeanne thanks Noé,  and he tried to deny that it wasn't his work, but Jeanne wanted to thank him anyway. For whatever reason, Noé was shaken and embarrassed again, however he was interrupted by Vanitas and talks about the marking that Jeanne has made, Luca talks about getting Vanitas to apologize for kissing her.

Noé came back to the memories that he didn't want to recall, but he tried to pretend that nothing had happened, Finally, Vanitas helped her lie to cover up the fact that she was cursed and his Buddy was taken outside by her to the window. Noè hurriedly ate the Tarte Tatin and followed them with concern , Noé saw Jeanne drink the blood of Vanitas and their teasing, intimate expressions. He was jealous of her and was confused by an inexplicable feeling.

In the late evening, it was time for the dance party and there were many people dancing. Noè saw that Jeanne looked absent-minded and he noticed that she was staring into the ballroom hall, inside there were many people dancing. for that reason so Noel decides to invite her to a dance to ask about her relationship with Vanitas, The reason for she attack on Vanitas and why?  you had to drink his blood even though you didn't like him, something that had always bothered his heart, so many questions that he didn't get answers to.  So he had to ask, ask to clear and to check their own feelings But instead he was hit by "Domi", who cuts him off and steals Jeanne, the dance partner he's meant to invite, causing him not to receive the intended answer, turns out he had to invite Vanitas to dance instead.

Noè has many doubts about Vanitas's love and his relationship with Jeanne. which is referring to the Blu-Ray bonus, where he suspects Vanitas's unusual love affair, in order not to be distracted, Noé must ask him about the relationship but the question he asked Vanitas to draw on his buddy's experience compared to how he felt in a situation he couldn't explain, For example, the question of her appearance, a feeling of liking the other side like he admires her because she's cute and strong, as well as being interested in sexual attraction like big breasts. to which Noé checks that all of them match him but when it came to the question about Vanitas saying that he liked her, but she would never love him back, as a result, Noé began to not understand and the questions began to not match him as intended,Instead, there are many questions to think about. at the end of that arc, Noé received no reply as usual and ends with a message in the manga that it will take a long time for him to understand his feelings.

In the church act, Noè goes to meet with Ruthven.  and wandered through the castle with Jeanne, Luca, and Vanitas. But they don't have many reaction moments except that Jeanne and Noé were more interested in the castle's stuff and Vanitas is at odds with Ruthven over the Queen, cause they don't talk. until Noè enters the church and sees Vanitas doing bad things. This cumulative effect prevented him from being unable to argue with Vanitas's harsh methods. Noé then exploded with anger and says he knows about Vanitas using him to steal Jeanne's kiss from Dante, with dissatisfaction, feeling anxious and caring for her but Vanitas's attitude didn't seem to care for her that much. So Noè was angry and wants Vanitas to take better care of her. He clashed with Vanitas's ideology to help adjust his attitude so that he wouldn't hurt Jeanne or anyone else.

Even later, he began to understand Vanitas a bit. but he still did not accept Vanitas's evil methods.

Gévaudan Arc

In the arc of Gévaudan, Noé meets her again.  And he was surprised to see her and to keep her from being killed.  He joins forces with Vanitas and goes to stop her, to end the conflict between vampires and humans. but unfortunately for Noe, he failed to persuade her and was attacked by Jeanne,  plus, he saw that she wasn't wearing any panties with a sense of involuntary and embarrassed, He also got hurt.

When he woke up in Chloè's castle and wondered if the person Jeanne was talking about was that young girl. He wondered what she and Vanitas and the others were up to, are she and Vanitas safe? but in the end, the story was cut back to the chaos and the conclusion of the Gévaudan arc, It ends with Noé walking in the opposite direction of Jeanne and he notices her walking out. Noè was suspicious and was surprised again  but he didn't have time to ask her because him was more concerned about his buddy's feelings, so Noè decided to walk up to his mate and received no answer again.

After returning from Gévaudan, he learned that Vanitas had fallen in love with Jeanne. It made Noè worried about Vanitas and feeling heartbroken. But he tried to hide his feelings and troubles, not to let Vanitas know about his confused feelings between Jeanne and Vanitas. The feeling of pain from the heartbreak to the point that he almost cried.

Short

In the author's "what if Valentine" drawing on Twitter , Noè gave Giri chocolates to Jeanne and then distributed along with others but he forgot to give chocolate to Vanitas , Later in bonus manga on twitter Noè got chocolate from her which is what shares with Luca  , So he took the chocolate back to eat with Vanitas at the hotel and told Vanitas,  "She and Luka are very nice people." , Noè then happily ate the chocolate he received from her and say it's delicious.

OMAKE CH.60

September is the fall season, so Noe goes out to do something in his free time, and he goes out to eat sweets with Jeanne. After that, he said that autumn is full of fun.

Noé and Jeanne are in the same class as Vanitas. They always compete to get Vanitas. When Noé asks to do a kabedon and Jeanne sees it, she agrees to do the same.

Fanon

NoèJeanne is an obscure ship in The Case Study of Vanitas fandom. Their relationship has strange forms of one-sided attraction, and can't explain it. Noè with Jeanne is is a person who likes to eat sweets, and they are gentle people, which makes fans think they would have a good chemistry together.

Although Noèjeanne was overshadowed by the popular VaniJeanne with Vanoé and Noénique but there is still a small minority of fans who like them, sometimes fans ship them together with VaniJeanne, Noénique, Vanoé because some people like their polyships but there are some people who ship them because they don't like VaniJeanne's toxic relationship and thinking that if they were a canon, it would be cuter and better.

But at the same time, NoéJeanne is in the midst of controversy from fans who say they don't have good chemistry and try to argue with weird theories, such as that Jeanne is Noe's mother, Noé is gay and he don't care about women. but there are some fans who argue that Noé's feelings are a moment of self-discovery and he still doesn't understand love, a feeling of admiration and sexual attraction can turn into love even though he still didn't like her right now.

No matter what, they will be construed as having romantic feelings or not romantic feelings, but NoéJeanne has the opportunity to develop a relationship in the future and their dynamics are still interesting, not losing to other popular ships in fandom.
