NorUzi is the family ship between Nori Doorman and Uzi Doorman from the Murder Drones fandom.

Canon[]

Despite being the biological mother of Uzi, Nori has never received the chance to experience her daughter growing up, for her murder, explained by Khan, was due to being injected by nanite acid. Unfortunately, Khan decided to put his wife out of her misery with the wrench that he used to create his first door. He eventually passed this wrench down to Uzi. Despite knowing little to no information about her mother, she seems to care deeply about the latter, and scavenges for any information regarding her.

In the second episode of the series, "Heartbeat", the eldritch version of Serial Designation J displayed a holographic version of Nori to Uzi, allowing the viewers to get a visual on what she looks like, due to the original family photo completely obscuring her face. Although there were no current photos of her at the time to show Uzi, her daughter somehow managed to recognize her. It is also important to mention that in the same episode, Uzi is infuriated by JCJenson's failure in cooperating with the Workers, mentioning how they didn't bother negotiating with Nori.

It is later revealed that Nori possessed the AbsoluteSolver and passed it down to Uzi through genetics. Through her dangerous discovery of the program, Uzi begins researching the origins of it, using her mother as an ultimate source. As seen in Cabin Fever, she discovers Nori's keybug that leads to the camp her parents used to reside in, using this as a source to discover the AbsoluteSolver's secrets. When she encounters an old ally of her mother, Alice, she immediately asks of what Nori was like upon the latter being mentioned.

Mass Destruction[]

In Mass Destruction, Nori and Uzi reunite, but Uzi fails to recognize her mother due to the latter being in the form of a heart core. Nori stands alongside N in the battle against the Cyn-possessed Uzi. When N announces that Uzi and him "kinda hang out" to Nori, she becomes furious and slaps Uzi for being in a relationship with a Disassembly Drone, who are the perpetrators for her death. Uzi is enraged by this sudden action, regaining consciousness and kicking Nori into the abyss. N panics and informs Uzi that the heart was her mother, and Uzi is shocked, screaming in realization.

Absolute End[]

Nori rescues Uzi from drifting off into the void of space; this is where their official reunion takes place. Recognizing her mother, Uzi attempts to shout her name, but no sound delivers due to being in space. They speak to each other via messages (Uzi texts on her visor and Nori writes on a rock). Uzi asks how to stop Cyn, and Nori asks Uzi where the patch is. Uzi signals that it broke while blushing furiously.

Uzi asks if the Solver would control her again, and Nori tosses Uzi her old choker that prevents said program from doing so. She answers Uzi with "If U a lil B--". The two then wave and smile at each other to make their reunion official. Nori explains that the Solver needs a host, so they must kill Cyn's heart to get rid of it. She tosses her pickaxe to her daughter, only for Uzi to be swept away by N's ship. She then gets dragged in and Uzi immediately scolds N for removing her from her mother. They get sidetracked for a while before Uzi eventually starts a battle with Cyn to show that the Solver can’t control her anymore. Prior to the battle beginning, Nori falls from the sky, yelling words of encouragement. She drops her pickaxe for Uzi to utilize and an iPod playing a hardcore Nightcore song, the perfect accompaniment to the fight.

Fanon[]

Before the events of "Heartbeat" and further episodes, fans debated the connection between Uzi's sudden change in eye color (purple to yellow) and her mother. It lead them to believe that Uzi was becoming a Murder Drone herself, and that Nori must have been one and passed it to her offspring. Whilst they were right to some extent after witnessing the second episode, it lead to more debates and discussion of lore upon Nori herself.

Upon finally knowing what she looks like, the fandom exploded with wholesome fanart of her and Uzi. It also surprised fans to witness how similar they looked in appearance, some believing that she must have been an older version of Uzi. Despite having very similar looks, the two are very different in personality due to Uzi inheriting most of her traits from her father. The only known trait between them as of now is their tendency to burst into conspiracy theories.

In "Mass Destruction," it is revealed that Uzi obtained most of her angsty and aggressive behavior from Nori.

Most fans prefer NorUzi over Khuzi due to Khan's abusive attempt at leaving Uzi to die in the hands of Serial Designation N. However, with the progression of the series, fans' perspectives on Nori flipped and they began going against her. This is due to the belief Nori committed child neglect after refusing to reveal she is alive to Uzi. This, however, is a futile statement since in reality Nori has been protecting her daughter from the horrors of the Solver and many other things. To ensure this, she hid her status of being alive so Uzi can't discover the existence of Cyn and the possible future destruction of Copper 9.

Trivia[]

  • Fans enjoy the headcanon of Doll's mother, Yeva, influencing in a romantic relationship with Nori, making Uzi and Doll siblings. This, however, contrasts the femslash pairing, Dollzi.
  • Nori and Uzi are the only characters (not including V) who use the phrase "Bite me", signifying that Uzi gained this specific trait from her mother.
  • They enjoy listening to nightcore.
  • Nori appears to be wearing a shockingly similar sweater that resembles Uzi's in the family portrait. This could mean that Uzi's outfit was a hand me down from her deceased mother.
