NortVera is the het ship between Norton Campbell and Vera Nair from the Identity V fandom.

Canon[]

Introduction[]

Norton and Vera never interacted with each other in the canon main lore. However, they show similarities on their own personalities and aesthetics. They are described as Both Hardworking and Gloomy as the two of them murdered the people whom they cared for, as Vera killed her twin sister and took her identity when she thought she was trying to "discredit" her but was misunderstood, while Norton is heavily implied to had let his co-workers "die" all by himself in the explosion possibly for competition.

The two are both "materialistic", for Vera is shown to be interested on luxurious items, whilst Norton shown to be seen as greedy by others who wants to earn money by escaping poverty.

Their "primary" colors are Purple for Vera and Green for Norton, which both happen to associate with commercialism. Purple is shown to be associated with Luxury and Royalty while is Green is negatively associated with Greed, Envy and Materialism.

Vera and Norton are both shown to distress about their own "past doings", as Vera wishes to forget about the time she murdered her own sister while Norton gets upset when someone mentions the Mining Explosion Accident[1].

Norton and Vera are shown to be one of the common survivors that appear in most Fifth Academy episodes they appear together but didn't interact until Episode 36.

Distiller (Vera Nair) and Two-Faced (Norton Campbell) are one of Cannoneer's (Naib Subedar) friends who were kidnapped by The Renewer (Violetta) and Re-Animator (Galatea Claude). Distiller and Two-Faced are seen tied up near each other while Re-Animator inhumanly experiments on Paper Wings (Annie Lester). Fast forward of Cannoneer rescuing his friends, Distiller is near behind Two-Faced with Cannoneer and Paper Wings as they both glanced at Archduchess's palace (Mary or Marie Antoniette).

Fanon[]

The ship used to be a semi-popular in the fandom way back 2019-2021 time period fans shipped them for their edgy and darker personalities or only for people who enjoyed the rich and poor trope this was common in the fandom at the time to pair characters who haven't had any canon interacted before the later year birthday letter information and story mode update on late 2021, the ship is one of Vera's and Norton's popular ship other than Aesvera and Nortemma on the hetero side but overshadowed by Tonton, Luchinort and Nortnaib on Norton's side & Marthavera on Vera's side. On the Asian Fandom, many of the NortVera shippers are shown to be shipmates with NaibVera.

Before the Time of Reunion update, Vera has been speculated to be the "arrogant" woman that Norton targets for salary on Norton's 2021 Birthday Letter those who believe that Vera is Norton's target interpreted the ship as Enemies to Lovers. Pieces of this theory points out of Vera being the woman he targets.[2][3]

  • Norton and Vera are seen teamed up with each other, people also use gameplay introduction and trailers as a backing evidence to answer the "questionable & mysterious" parts mentioned in particular piece such as characters part of any death game experimental groups or a future new costume, That Norton throws his magnet at the identical color rate polarity pushing away Vera to be hit by the Hunter.
  • In the Global 2nd Anniversary Atropos' Ropes event where Norton is portrayed as Ronald of Nice and Vera as Fragrance Queen, Ronald is shown to be afraid of Fragrance Queen the director's confidant is the "true queen" of the theatre.
  • Since Norton is shown to have a hatred of "arrogant rich people", Vera was born to a wealthy family and described as "haughty" and materialistic common trait of how rich people are seen in the eyes of the commoners.

As the game's story progressed since Time of Reunion update, The theory of Vera being Norton's target has been debunked when he is seen chasing Melly with no signs of Vera's appearance whos not the real target for salary the answer for Norton's target for salary is still unconfirmed as of the release of Ashes of Memory Chapter 2 while on Vera's side shes confirmed to be in the same game as Edgar, Jose, Kevin and Patricia.

As of the release of the Non-Canon Commissioned Novel of Perfumer many people started to headcanon her "Lesbian" due to the one quote "You betrayed me! Chloe would never fall in love with this man, with any man!" despite it's non-canon status which led the downfall of both Aesvera and Nortvera's popularity, Nortvera became a forgotten by the fandom or hated ship by some people which let some existing shippers of this ship getting harassed by them on the english speaking or western perspective of the fandom.

With the hold of non-canon status of the novel it doesn't stop some people from shipping Nortvera, the ship is preserved and active on the asian side of the fandom as its still posting today, Those who used to ship Nortvera migrated to shipping NortMelly or starting to headcanon Norton as a transfem or non binary to ship Vera to preserve or portray Nortvera as a sapphic ship. On the main canon lore side both NortMelly and Edvera became both Norton's and Vera's most popular ship on the hetero side of the fandom as of 2023 which is also one of the staggering reasons of Nortvera's popularity.
