NottPott is the slash ship between Theodore Nott and Harry Potter from the Harry Potter fandom.
Canon[]
Theodore and Harry are both in the same year at Hogwarts. They are sorted into Slytherin and Gryffindor respectively. They do not know each other well and have very few interactions. In the Hogwarts library, Harry sees Draco, Crabbe, Goyle and Theodore from afar. Hermione whispers to Harry that the boy is Theodore Nott.
Harry and Theodore are some of the only students in Hogwarts who can see Thestrals. For Harry, this is due to the death of Cedric Diggory. For Theodore, is it not confirmed but is likely due to his mother's death.
Long after the battle of Hogwarts, in 2022, Nott duelled Harry Potter and was defeated and then arrested by him. He was arrested for the illegal possession of an unregistered Time-Turner. This Time Turner would later be used by Harry's son Scorpius to travel back in time.
Fanon[]
NottPott is an uncommon pairing in the fandom. Little is known about Theodore's character. He only appears a handful of times in the books. Despite this, he is a popular character to include in fanfictions and has his own dedicated fanbase. On AO3, it is the 2nd most popular ship with Theodore, the first being Theomione, but NottPott is close in the number of fanfictions. As of 2022, the ship has over 900 fanfictions on AO3. On a filtered search, they have over 200 fanfictions with Theodore/Harry as the central pairing.
Since not much is known, Theo's character is often a blank slate and so this allows fanfiction writers to be imaginative with depicting Theo's character—almost to the point of being an OC. NottPott is similar to Drarry in being a Gryffindor/Slytherin romance, but since not much is known about Theodore, writers have more creative freedom.
Fanart for the pairing is rare, but a popular fanfiction series: The NottPott Chronicles by Amarillis39 and MissMrah contains comic illustrations of NottPott.
Most NottPott fanfictions often take place after the events of the books and sometimes go the enemies-to-lovers route. Nott is connected to Death Eaters, while Harry Potter is an Auror. This creates conflict in a lot of NottPott stories, with a lot of angst. Despite this, there is a good amount of fanfiction taking place in the Hogwarts years.
The ship is a common side pairing in Dramione fanfictions, wherein Harry and Theodore get together in the background but are not the central pairing of the story. There are various examples of this, for instance, The Fuckening by ThusAtlas. Additionally, both Dramione and NottPott have similarities, since they both include a Slytherin/Gryffindor romance.
