Season 5[]

DOCTOR BASHIR, I PRESUME?

After Miles informs Julian about Julian's parents admitting his genetic enhancement in front of them to a hologram of Julian, Julian becomes angry that they would set them up like that. Miles insists that they just happened to come in when they were running the program, but Julian is mad that he still let them keep going believing it was Julian. Miles says he's sorry, but they have a problem they have to deal with now. Julian doesn't want to talk about but Miles says that Zimmerman is going to tell Starfleet about his genetic enhancements. Julian knows that this will lead him to getting dismissed from Starfleet and Miles realizes that his parents were telling the truth. Julian tells him that his parents got him the surgeries at age six when they realized that he wasn't as advanced as the other children. Miles asks how they changed him, and Julian goes over the list of ways he changed, which was pretty much everything but his name. Miles asks how no one was suspicious and Julian says no one thought to much about it when he was being successful. He calls himself a fraud, and Miles says he doesn't seem him that way. He insists that the re-coding couldn't give Julian the things that make him human, but Julian knows Starfleet won't see it that way. Miles says that they haven't seen a case in a century, so they won't know how they'll react, but Julian is pretty sure. Miles says that there has to be something they can do, but Julian says that all he can do is resign before the report is filed. Miles starts to protest, but Julian says it's over. He always knew it could happen and asks to be left alone.
