ObiRin is the het ship between Obito Uchiha and Rin Nohara from the Naruto fandom.
Canon[]
Obito and Rin were childhood friends. Obito was later on the day of orientation at the ninja academy and missed the entrance ceremony. He was upset, but Rin cheered him and gave him the entrance documents for orientation. When they graduated from the academy, they were assigned to Team 7 along with Kakashi Hatake under the leadership of the future hokage Minato Namikaze. Obito had developed a crush on Rin at some point, but she had developed a crush on Kakashi instead.
During the Third Shinobi World War, Rin was captured by the enemy, and Kakashi insisted on completing their mission before worrying about rescuing her. Obito scolded Kakashi for wanting to leave his comrade to die and after saying that he thought Kakashi's father Sakumo was a true hero, agreed to help Obito rescue Rin. They succeeded in saving her but Obito was crushed by a boulder. Rin tried to heal him but there was no way to save him due to half of his body being crushed. Obito then asked Rin to implant his Sharingan into Kakashi, as he had lost his eye, and she did so. Obito seemingly died after they left, and Rin looked at the stars while remembering him fondly.
Obito ended up being saved by the elderly Madara Uchiha, who used a wood clone to regenerate the crushed parts of his body. Obito had planned on trying to rejoin his old team once he recovered despite Madara trying to convince him not to. After learning that Kakashi and Rin were battling nearby, Obito went to join them, and could see Rin through the eye he gave Kakashi as he closed in on them. To his horror, Obito saw Kakashi killing Rin with his Chidori, which immediately activated his Mangekyō Sharingan. Rin had actually jumped in front of Kakashi's attack on purpose, as she had the three-tails sealed inside of her with the plan to unleash the beast on Konoha, but Obito did not know this at the time.
After Rin's death, enemy ninjas closed in to retrieve her corpse, and Obito fought and killed them all. He then cradled Rin's body and promised to create a reality where they could all be together again. This led Obito through the cycle of hatred. He became a mysterious man known as Tobi and founded the group Akatsuki by manipulating others to form the group. Obito secretly planned to use the Inifinite Tsukuyomi to create an ideal world where he could be with Rin again.
When Obito was unmasked on the battlefield, Kakashi questioned how he managed to survive, but Obito did not answer the question directly and instead told him that his failure to save Rin is what led him down this path of hatred. When they, Obito became enraged whenever Kakashi mentioned Rin. Madara later forced Obito to use the Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique and spent his last moments thinking of Rin. He struggled to retain his consciousness after becoming the Jinchuriki of the Ten Tails and thought of Rin. This eventually allowed him to come back in a form similar to that of the Sage of Six Paths.
When Naruto tried to convince Obito to join his side, he refused, but then a flashback of the old Obito and Rin showed that Rin only wanted the old Obito and not the Jinchuriki Obito. He late admitted to Kakashi and Minato that Rin was his only light and when he lost her, he also lost himself to the darkness. Later, when cronfronted by Madara, Obito learned that he orchestrated Rin's death so that he could use Obito as a pawn.
As Obito and Kakashi were trying to shield Naruto and Sasuke, a hand guided them, and this individual was revealed to be Rin. Obito thought about how he wished to spend more time with her and used his Kamui to teleport Kakashi away, saying that he was in the way, before taking the blow for Naruto and Sasuke. As Obito died, he met Rin who had been waiting for him and watching him th whole time. She then took his hand and walked on with him.

ObiRin is a popular ship in the Naruto fandom. As Obito and Rin are from the older Team 7, the love triangle that they are in with Kakashi mirrors that of the Team 7 that Naruto and the others were in during the main series. Since Obito was more like Naruto personality-wise while Rin was like Sakura, ObiRin is considered a counterpart to the NaruSaku ship and is popular among NaruSaku shippers. However, ObiRin is also popular among SasuSaku shippers since Obito is an Uchiha and eventually turned on the village like Sasuke did. After the end of the series when Obito finally died for real and was greeted by Rin in the afterlife, many believe that they are together in the afterlife. AO3 has over 800 works for the pairing. ObiRin is rivaled by the KakaRin and ObiKaka pairings.
