Obidala is the het ship between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padmé Amidala from the Star Wars fandom.
Canon[]
Jedi Padawan Obi-Wan and Queen Padmé meet shortly after the start of the Invasion of Naboo. Obi-Wan and his mentor Qui-Gon Jinn rescue her from the Trade Federation's battle droids. Shortly afterwards Obi-Wan becomes a Jedi Knight and he and Padmé can be seen attending Jinn’s funeral. Later they take part in the victory celebration in Theed. Years have passed and the two seem to have become very good friends. In 22 BBY, the Jedi Council sends Obi-Wan, on a mission to protect the now Senator Amidala from future attacks following an assassination attempt on her life. Padmé proposes a plan to use herself as bait in order to catch her possible assassin.
At night Obi-Wan and Anakin save Padmé’s life and when the failed assassin tries to escape, Obi-Wan leaps out of Padmé’s window and follows them. He is later missioned by the Senate to investigate this attempt on her life. As a result of his investigation, Obi-Wan gets captured and imprisoned on Geonosis. When Padmé learns that Obi-Wan is in trouble, she persuades Anakin to find him and help him. When they reach the planet, they get captured and sentenced to death. They manage to escape their doom and fight side by side for their life.
Uder Palpatine’s influence Anakin comes to suspect Obi-Wan and Padmé have a secret relationship. His jealousy seems to be ungrounded. When Obi-Wan tells Padmé that Anakin has fallen to the dark side, she goes to Mustafar to find her husband; Obi-Wan hides on her ship. Anakin and Padmé argue and when she loses consciousness as a result of Anakin strangling her, Obi-Wan emerges from her ship and Anakin once again suspevts that his wife and former master have been deceiving him. After Padmé’s death, Obi-Wan hides her and Anakin’s children so that Darth Vader cannot find them and adopts a hermit lifestyle as “Ben Kenobi”. When he meets Padmé's daughter Leia, the girl suspects he might be her real father, and Obi-Wan says he wishes it would have been so.

Obidala is considered a rareship; it is often shipped alongside with Obianidala. The first Obidala fanfics date back to 1999.[1] Since the release of Episode I, some fans believe that Padmé falling in love with handsome and more age-appropriate Obi-Wan is very likely. Some have been joking that Padmé should leave Anakin for Obi-Wan. The possible romance between Padmé and Obi-Wan would let that ship fall under the category of “Forbidden Love” trope, as Padmé is the wife of Obi-Wan’s apprentice and close friend. Obi-Wan centered show Kenobi proved that he keeps thinking about her after her death, which rekindled the shippers love for the couple. Modern AU and Canon Divergence AU are the most popular tags in the ship tag on AO3. A popular in stories is Padmé surviving the birth of Luke and Leia and along with Obi-Wan becoming a prominent figure in the rebellion.
