THE MANDALORE PLOT
Obi-Wan goes to Mandalore upon rumors that Satine is being pulled into the side of the Separatist, and meets her in the throne room. She sarcastically calls him her knight in shining armor, and he says that she's more beautiful than he remembers. Satine says that they're kind words from someone who is accusing her of treason, but Obi-Wan says that he would never accuse Satine herself. However, there was recently an attack by a Mandalorian and Satine accuses the senate only ordering an investigation to intervene in their affairs. Obi-Wan says that he was actually sent by the Jedi Counsel, and Satine calms a bit. She asks if Obi-Wan would join her on a walk through the city, reaching out her hand to him. He takes it to help her up and they walk out the building.
Satine says that despite the circumstances it's still good to see him again. Obi-Wan points out how much Mandalore has prospered since she became duchess, and Satine says that not everyone on Mandalore is committed to peace. She explains the group Death Watch and how they've been investigating them and Obi-Wan asks how widespread it is. Satine says that they're small and more of a nuisance than anything, and will soon have them in custody. Obi-Wan hopes she's right, and their convesation devolves to other topics.
They start talking about the role of a peacekeeper, Obi-Wan seeing them on the front lines, while Satine says that a peacekeeper makes sure conflict doesn't arise. Obi-Wan says that's not realistic, and Satine asks if reality is what makes Jedi abandon their ideals, when there is a sudden explosion. Obi-Wan checks to see if Satine is all right, and she assures him that she's fine. Seeing the damage, Obi-Wan doesn't believe Death Watch could have done it, with the way Satine described them. Satine says that it must have been an off-worlder, but Obi-Wan points out the Death Watch symbol that appears in the remains. He says that it's a statement against the government and Satine, and insists on taking her back to the palace where she'll be safe. He helps her up when one of the civilians makes a run from the scene and he follows.
Satine catches up when the Death Watch members throws himself off a building. Satine gets some last words out of him, and tells Obi-Wan that he was speaking in the dialect of their moon, Concordia. Obi-Wan offers to go, but Satine says that she would have to accompany him. Obi-Wan says it's not necessary, but Satine says he won't make much progress without her, especially given his involvement with the death. Obi-Wan points out that he didn't kill him, and Satine says that's why she's still talking to him.

Obitine has a fairly decent following in the Star Wars fandom. As Satine being Obi-Wan's only canon love interest, makes many people intersted in their backstory and current relationship. Many fans theorize that Satine's nephew, Korkie, is actually their son that was kept secret.
On AO3, Obitine is the most written ship for Satine and the sixth most written for Obi-Wan. It is also the sixth most written ship in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars tag.
