Octav3 is the femslash ship between Octavia Melody and DJ Pon-3 from the My Little Pony fandom.
Canon[]
Main Series[]
In the Episode "Slice of Life" it is revealed that despite their choices of music being total opposites, the two are friends and live together. In the episode, while Octavia was struggling to practice with the music choices for the upcoming wedding, DJ, who was just coming in for a drink, quickly ran over to her turn table and helps spice up the classical music with her electronica music. When Octavia realized they would be late, DJ Pon-3 transports her there on a mobile DJ booth while unintentionally picking up the other guests. They arrive at the wedding with all the guests, and proceed to preform.
In the episode "Doom & Gloom" they are seen together in Sweetie Belle's dream. In "It Isn't the Mane Thing About You", she appears next to Octavia at the Ponyville marketplace.
In A Hearth's Warming Tail, alternate versions of them in Twilight's story are shown playing together, although this time, DJ is using Phonograph rather than a turntable. In the real world, they are seen together again.
In A Horse Shoe-In, Octavia and DJ are shown performing together at the Ponyville Theater during Octavia's Final Test to be Vice-Headmare of the Friendship School.
Octavia is able to communicate and understand DJ, despite the fact that DJ apparently being mute. Interestingly, DJ seems to be more open when around Octavia, as DJ actively ignored Dr. Hooves when he spoke to her (not even bothering to remove her headphones), yet immediately went to help Octavia when she was having trouble with the wedding music.

In My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Holidays Unwrapped, Their human counterparts are seen sitting together in the bleachers.
They also appeared together in the My Little Pony/Transformers IDW Crossover.
Fanon[]
The ship was created by fans of the series, due to their shared love of music. Many fans were fond of this ship due to them being polar opposites. The Animated Video "A Tropical Octav3 Animation" by AnimatedJames, helped support the ship and gained over a Million Views upon release.
A more recent Fanon is the Ask Ponies animation starring Octavia and DJ (going by her other name, Vinyl Scratch). In the video, they are a confirmed couple.
This ship, despite its following , is not as popular as the ship between Lyra Harp and Bon Bon, another ship involving two female "background characters".
On AO3, the ship has gained over 30 fanfics and is the most written ship for both. On FanFiction.net the ship has over 230 fanfics tagged to involve them, and over 25 tagged as romantic relationship tag.
