OilRose is the femslash ship between Serial Designation V and Serial Designation J from the Murder Drones fandom.
Canon[]
Pilot[]
V and J are comrades in the mission to eliminate all remaining Worker Drones on Copper 9, J being the leader of the team. The two mercilessly eliminate each Worker Drone that comes in their presence with sadistic pleasure. Since J deems Serial Designation N as a "useless and terrible" member for his poor performance in his tasks, V acknowledges this claim and begins to ignore and insult his presence until J revokes this statement, going as far as pretending to forget his existence.
When N successfully invades the Worker Drone colony and provides an entry for his teammates, J congratulates him on his success in proving himself worthy. Her honor is followed by V, who praises him and finally refers to him by name. However, when N begins to feel remorse on his killings after meeting Uzi, his attempt at persuading J into coinciding with the Workers provoked her into believing that he is rebelling against their home company, JCJenson, and their orders. As punishment, she injects a harmful virus into his software before taking off to join V, who had found the escaped Worker's current location.
During their ambush, they are interrupted by Uzi and N, who are officially in a friendly relationship. With plans to save the cowering Workers, Uzi convinced N to assist her in rebelling against his team. With this, V and J engage in a battle with the two, eventually ending with J's death and V's capture.
Heartbeat[]
In a brief recollection of his memory, N accidentally collides into V as he carries a tray of carefully aligned empty wine glasses. As they fix the mess, their fingers come in contact, creating an electric spark. The two blush at each other upon this interaction, but before N could speak, he is violently kicked to the floor by J, followed by her quote, "Move over moron." Her insult was cut off by Tessa's presence that had entered the room.
Home[]
In N's revisited memory, under the orders of Tessa Elliot, J assists the human in preventing the infected maid drone, Cyn, performing a massacre on the gala. Predicting that Tessa would plan on stopping her, Cyn places V under the influence of the AbsoluteSolver with the intention of using her as an obstacle. As a result, the program deformed her body, making her grow bat-like wings and a bladed hand. V eventually bumps into the group and engages in battle. J responds quickly as she defends with a sword and flawlessly attacks the controlled V.
Absolute End[]
J provokes Lizzy, Thad, and Khan, launching a missile in their direction in hopes of killing them off; Suddenly, V emerges into the scene with her newfound Sentinel acquaintance. The red-eyed Sentinel flips the missile upward for V to deflect with her foot, sending it in J's direction. The explosive misses J as the two exchange glares. V proceeds to mount the Sentinel and charges for J; J fires bullets at them, only for the Sentinel to guard each attack with a dismembered Disassembly Drone's bladed arm. It initiates a swift neon swing that J dodges successfully, but it allows V to escape off the back of her ally without being noticed. Noticing V's abrupt disappearance, J is momentarily confused prior to V engaging a sneak attack; V shouts at J in her one-liner calling her a narc for the latter's betrayal. J corrects her with "senior informant" prior to V kicking her across the face that tossed her to a nearby massive floating boulder. V rapidly catches up with her and conveys her fury that J formed an alliance with Cyn. She delivers a fatal kick that J evades, thus projecting the boulder away as the two battle airborne.
In a pre-text conversation between V and Lizzy, V asks if Lizzy had found J's location. Lizzy confirms that she indeed located the target and asks if V wishes for her to kill the betrayer. V dismisses the offer and informs her to distract J instead. The scene shifts once more to J and V's heated battle. They clash their swords as V yells at J that they were supposed to "get away" before she deflects J's sword to forcefully grip her neck. With J's neck in clenched in her fist, she forces her back onto a metal beam and rapidly drags her body across it.
She continues to confront J on her lies, pointing out that J stated in the past that the Solver would dismiss their squad once they have completed their tasks on Copper 9. J annoyingly rolls her eyes and scolds V to "grow up". J escapes V's grip and rebuttals that the Solver had tricked V into believing so. She defends herself and claims that if she had promised V anything, it would be that the deadly program fooled her as well. As V glides towards J hastily the latter whips out a missile with a saddened expression. V successfully deflects the assault before conjuring her own; J speaks as they deliver continuous strikes, clearing up that V is aware that there is no escape, even in death. She then swiftly amputates V's left leg, sending the latter to the ground. To V's surprise, J offers her a hand in means of persuading her into joining the "winning team as a team".
J stares at V expectantly with an indication of warmth. V slowly places her palm in hers, and J is satisfied with V's decision. But to her dismay, V tells J to "bite me" and dismembers both of their hands caught in the false gesture. They clash swords once more but are interrupted by Uzi and N's interference; Uzi launches a piercing hole through the planet. J gestures silently to V in question of this action in which V merely shrugs. After the small distraction, they continue to brawl. J remarks on how she assumed that V "stepped it up" after Earth and kicks her to a nearby boulder. She selfishly declares that she needed neither V or N in the first place before pointing her rocket-infused arm at the latter and firing; V had survived the blast.
Further progress into the show showcases N, Uzi, and V versus Cyn and J. J takes advantage of Cyn's distraction aimed at Uzi and launches herself behind the latter in preparation to defeat her. But N and V block this goal simultaneously and sends her into a pit, defeating her for good.
Murder Drones Training Video[]
Albeit the very minimal interactions exchanged between the females, Glitch sponsored a skit project to showcase their latest merch; In this skit, J hosts a training video for fresh employees of JCJenson. A section of her lesson includes the act of delegation, and she uses V as an example. She approaches V and compliments her, elucidating that the latter's act of disregards to safety and abandoning her post like a "worthless traitor" is inspiring. V thanks her coworker for the "valued compliment". This short yet aggressive moment between them could possibly signify their relationship to be far more strained than what most audiences interpreted it to be.

Fanon[]
The OilRose ship had spiraled after the release of the Murder Drones pilot. Shippers took advantage of V's past unrequited feelings for N and used it as an uplift for the pairing. Due to their drastically similar personality and behaviors, the two had been viewed as "Girl Bosses" for their dedication and perseverance followed by their advanced abilities in combat.
Shippers depicted that J had originally had a crush on V and became aggressively envious towards N for sharing the same feelings, explaining her reasoning for treating him unfairly despite his hard work and progression during his time as a butler and a Disassembly Drone.
After J's death, shippers became aggravated by the sudden plot change and considered creating AUs of her resurrection before it became canon, and or they avoid her death completely (Uzi somehow managed to spare her life, V saves her, etc). Others contain more depressing plots, and V had a relationship with J and began to mourn her loss and grow a vendetta against Uzi. When J's revisit occurred, fans were elated.
OilRose rose drastically in attention after Murder Drones depicted a highly possible romantic relationship between N and Uzi, in which N formally had a crush on V.
Despite this attention, due to J's absence, its latest rival pairing is Vuzi, the femslash pairing between V and Uzi. WIth V and Uzi's closer relationship and comparable characterization, it is the third most written ship for V on AO3. Another popular rival among the fanbase is Vizzy, the femslash pairing between V and Lizzy. This is caused by Lizzy and V's closeness being more connected than J and V's relationship. A more recent rival is Jessa, the controversial femslash pairing between J and Tessa.
Due to J's betrayal against V and the many others, the ship now sparks intense controversy. Many complain that J's character had immense potential and should not have been written as an antagonist, especially since she defended against the Solver in Home.
