Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint is a webnovel series made by Sing Shong and illustrated by Sleepy-C.
Plot[]
Dokja was an average office worker whose sole interest was reading his favorite web novel 'Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse.' But when the novel suddenly becomes reality, he is the only person who knows how the world will end. Armed with this realization, Dokja uses his understanding to change the course of the story, and the world, as he knows it.[1]

Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint is a popular Western novel, to the extent where it has led to a manhwa adaptation (which is still on-going). It is also notable for its open ending, which upset some but relieved others. They might envisage either a happy or a sad ending; the reader had the choice. Even though it is popular, some people are unable to read the novel due to its length (551 chapters) and are satisfied only with the webtoon, so two camps were formed: novel-only and webtoon-only, though there are others that have finished the novel and are also following the webtoon.
The fandom has memes, just like the rest, but they are largely about Kim Dokja frequently sacrificing himself, and people call him a "rat" as a result. Other nicknames for him include the "ugly squid", the "ugly king", and simply "squid". Fans also like bullying Kim Dokja with his least favorite meal, tomatoes, either painting him with them or enlisting the help of KimCom members. On the other side, the fandom is incredibly angsty since the novel itself is, estimating the number of times Kim Dokja needs to give his life so his companions can clear the scenarios, and although it's only temporal, it's not something everyone enjoys witnessing, nor does Kim Dokja enjoy doing.
Things like couples aren't actually focused in the main story, although the fandom believes otherwise. Although the novel's pairings are left platonic and do not focus on romance as specified (save for Seolhyuk and HyunHee), there are several (non-canon) that are heavily implied to be romantically coded, such as Yoo Joonghyuk and Kim Dokja. Fans joke about it being a love novel disguised as a mournful tale, which is confirmed by the fact that many characters ship both of them (including BlackBox, the artist of Omniscient Reader's volume posters and such). However, it is often rejected by those who prefer both of them with other people, such as Han Sooyoung or Sangah. This isn't really a problem, though, because some members of the fanbase are fine with ships and respect other people's ideas, or they'd simply ignore it. It should be noted that even popular ships, such as Hyunsung and Heewon (who were canonically a couple) and Joonghyuk and Seolhwa, rarely receive fan art or fan fictions. Love interests, or attempts to be perceived as such, are also not a good fit for the protagonist, according to fans. They prefer to see them as either relatives or close friends to Kim Dokja, as in the case of Yoo Sangah, which did not work out, based on supporters' claims. Similarly, Uriel and Heewon were regarded as family members by admirers of Kim Dokja.
Overall, despite its length, the novel keeps the reader amused as they move through it, and it is unique in that it lacks a genuine romantic portrayal or love interests (which were rejected down as the story continued). It should be pointed out that the novel itself stated that every part of Kim Dokja was in every reader of the book, since: Kim Dokja = Reader/Only child (as the original translation in korean), and that, because the novel had broken the fourth wall several times, the novel that everyone had written in the end to gather Kim Dokja's soul fragments was nothing more and less than ORV.
