Overwatch ships. This page is for ships with a lack of content, or for ships with minimal interactions. Please add as much content as you can to the sections below. Once a ship meets the requirements, you are welcome to create a page.
The current requirements for ship pages are:
- 20 sentences split between the canon and fanon sections, with content in both sections.
- One minimum link under the fandom section (e.g. AO3 tags, Tumblr links)
Please refrain from adding more than five images to a ship section, and refrain from adding any fan art. If you're unsure if a ship meets the requirements for a page, discuss with a member of our admin team.

Doomyatta[]
Doomyatta is the slash ship between Doomfist and Zenyatta. AKA: Zenfist
Canon[]
Zenyatta and Doomfist have never interacted within Overwatch lore. They would have little interaction. Although it is perceived that they would not be on the same side.
Doomfist is the leader a Talon. An organization that wants to plunge the world into chaos. Zenyatta is an omnic monk. He was the brother of Mandotta before Mandotta's death, but still tries to find peace and help his students.

Hanmetra[]
Hanmetra is the het ship between Hanzo and Symmetra. AKA: Symmanzo, Symmzo, Symmhanzo, Dragonometry

Hanzo was the heir to the Shimada family. The clan elders became worried about his younger brother's, Genji, carefree ways, and told him that it needed to end. Hanzo and Genji argued, until it escalated and the two fought. Hanzo believed he had been killed in the fight and ran from the Shimada house. He later returned to the household to honor Genji, but was found by an assassin, who turned out to be Genji, alive and a cyborg. Hanzo is left to consider where he is going now.
Satya was taken in by the Vishkar corporation following the omnic crisis, and is able to use hard light to create new inventions. Satya was lonely so she threw herself into her studies to become top of her class. She had a much easier time using the hard light, since she didn't approach it from a mechanical or procedural way, instead through a traditional dance of her homeland. She was sent out by Vishkar to spread the companies influence to other countries.

Fanon[]
The ship is a rare pair in the Overwatch fandom. Although the two gained some fans after the second Overwatch anniversary, where a voice line between the two was added to the game. This led many fans to realize the similarities between the two, that got explored in fan fiction and fan art.
Like all Overwatch pairings, fans will depict them in their in-game skins. Symmetra's Vampire and Dragon skins are both often paired with Hanzo's Demon skin. Symmetra's Magician skin, and Hanzo's Scion skin are often paired together as well.

Cassidy was one of the founders of the Deadlock gang. When he was a teenager, he was arrested by Overwatch, and was approached by Gabriel Reyes to become a part of Blackwatch or go to prison. He chose to join Blackwatch, and was a part of the team before the disbanding of both Overwatch and Blackwatch. He worked as a bounty hunter before he was called back to Overwatch by Winston.
When South Korea was attacked by colossal omnics, the government created MEKA-drone control networks. The networks were eventually destroyed and MEKA’s now needed pilots. They started to recruit gamers due to their high reflexes and instincts that were needed to operate the MEKA systems. Hana Song, also known as D.Va, was the reigning world champion and was drafted to the MEKA program. D.Va charges into battle with the rest of her team, and streams all her fights online, making her a global icon.

Fanon[]
The ship has a smaller following. Although fans believe that the two would get along. This is due to them having more similar upbeat personalities. As well as them both having darker parts of themselves, Cassidy being a member of the Deadlock gang, and D.Va having the weight of the world on her shoulders, since she's one of the few people protecting her home.
Most fan art depicts the two in more fun situations. Typically set on Cassidy's home turf of Route 66. Using their different skins in fan art is also popular among its fans. Like all D.Va ships, fans also depict the two playing video games.

Fanon[]
Fans of the ship, ship them take influences from their shared time in Overwatch. While they weren't on the same team, it's implied that they've at least talked at some point.
Depictions of the two before the fall of Overwatch have the them casually hanging out, or getting into less serious situations. Many have this depiction due to their close age range, and the two being some of the younger Overwatch members at the time.

Angela Ziegler joined Overwatch at a young age and became the head of medical research. She discovered new uses for nano-biology and how to use it to heal injuries and illness. She developed the Valkyrie suit, so that she could use the tech on the battlefield, taking the call name "Mercy" when she did. After Overwatch was disbanded, Mercy continued to use her tech to heal others.
Amélie Guillard was a successful ballerina, and married a man named Gerard Lacroix, an agent for Overwatch. Talon, a terrorists organization, captured Amelie and tortured her until she became a sleeper agent. Overwatch rescued her, but two weeks after her return, she killed her husband and returned to Talon. They reconditioned her, turning her into an emotionless killer and lowered her heart rate, her skin becoming blue as a result. She took on the name Widowmaker, and became Talon’s most elite assassin.
The two have never been known to interact in canon, although they would have likely been aware of each other, due to Widowmaker's former husband being the Ovewatch liaison and Mercy being Overwatch's head doctor.
Game-play[]
Mercy has some trouble getting to heal Widowmaker, as Widowmaker is played from a distance and is farther away then close rage heroes.
Fanon[]
Fan Art of the two is typically depicted as them in their more formal skins. But the halloween skins are also popular. Many enjoy putting Mercy in her Greek skin as a counter for most of Widowmaker's. Some also enjoy the Overwatch/Talon relationship, and will work with that.
On AO3, it is the second most written ship for Widowmaker and the fourth most written for Mercy. It is the thirteenth most written in the Overwatch tag.

Ordered Chaos[]
Ordered Chaos is the het ship between Symmetra and Junkrat from the Overwatch fandom.
Canon[]
Symmetra was taken in by the Vishkar Corporation as a young child. She rose to the top of her classes after she became an expert in using hard light technology. She became the company's top architect and works to spread Vishkar's influence around the world.
Junkrat, is a criminal junker from Junkertown Australia. At some point he came across his biggest score yet, and was constantly perused for it. He hired a bodyguard, and the two went on a worldwide crime spree.
The two have never been shown to meet in the established Overwatch lore, and don't have much in common. Junkrat being obsessed with mayhem and pursuing money, while Symmetra wanting to rid the world of chaos, and replace it with order.

Fanon[]
Fans ship the two based on the "Opposites Attract" trope of most ships. Symmetra's extremly serious nature counters Junkrat's rather over the top and crazy personality. The two would balance each other out. Opposite's also comes into play with Symmetra's firm belief in order, and Junkrat spreading nothing but chaos wherever he goes.
Fics and art of the two, typically focus on the two getting to know each other. Symmetra is typically not a fan of Junkrat in most of it and would not like him very much in canon based on the lore. Junkrat in fan works, is the one trying to get Symmetra to become "more fun" and to socialize. Symmetra will also act as a more calming nature to Junkrat as well.
On AO3 it is the second most written ship for both characters, and the eighteenth most written in the Overwatch tag.

Oristion[]
Oristion is the non-binary ship between Orisa and Bastion from the Overwatch fandom.
Canon[]
The two have never had any indication to have met in the official lore. However Orisa has indicated to Bastion in in game dialogue that her programming would make them one of her targets.
Bastion is the last known of their kind. An omnic from the first crisis, they were left rusting in the woods before accidentally being awoken by a small bird. They fight their original programming to kill all humans, and instead wander the wilderness, looking through more peaceful eyes. Orisa was a robot created by Efi Oladele, from the remains of an OR15 unit that was defeated by Doomfist before his capture. Efi gave Orisa a personality core and named her. Letting her become the protector of Numbani.
Fanon[]
Fans ship the two mostly based on their status as omnics. Specifically one's on the less complex scale. Although this ship came later as Orisa was the second character introduced after the original line up.
Some fan art will show the two doing cute things together. Mostly casually laying in the grass accompanied by Bastion's bird. Some even draw them in possible human designs. Some will also compare them to other robot couples.

Fanon[]
Fans took to D.Va's gamer personality mixing with Sombra's hacker one. The two's personalities aren't opposite but do lead to interesting interactions. They're personality types typically lend to jokey or sassy interactions. Especially based off of their canon one.
Fan art of the two typically has them in more casual settings. Often playing video games, since that is D.Va's profession. Although being called out for cheating is very common. D.Va teaching Sombra how to play games is often also depicted. Chibi versions of the two are also common among artist.
Fics will sometimes have them meet online, and connect that way. D.Va's gamer personality typically takes over in these fics. Although this is mostly to this being the only canon depiction of the character for most of the game's run.

The two have never been shown to have met in established lore. Sombra has had no connection to the Vishkar corporation, other than the organization she works for, Talon, have an inside man.
Olivia Colomar was a hacker that was originally taken in by the Los Muertos tag, helping to restore her country. She began to investigate a global conspiracy, and wiped her identity. She augmented herself and took on the alias Sombra, and eventually joined Talon. She doesn't care for their plans only using them to get the answers she wants.
Satya was born to a poor family before being put into the Vishkar Architect Academy to learn to create light bending techniques. They made her an agent and she took on the name Symmetra, where she was sent to sabotage competitors and negotiate with contractors. She continues to struggle with her place, trying to determine if Vishkar is truly doing good in the world, but doesn't want her faith to waver.

Fans often debate weather their remakes were for the better or worse.
Fanon[]
A more common pairing in Overwatch. The two have very opposing personality traits, that lend itself to many pairings. Sombra is the less serious one, compared to Symmetra's very logical nature, as well as her need for order. This also goes along well with Sombra's need for answers. Some often compare this dynamic to Yeehan[1].

The two have never met in established Overwatch lore. Tracer was a member of Overwatch before it disbanded. An accident gave her the ability to time travel, though she couldn't control it until she was given the chronal accelerator. D.Va is a professional gamer who became a mech pilot that fights a colossus omnic's coming invasion. They both have more up beat personalities and were thrown into battle at a young age.
Game-play[]
Both were part of the standard dive composition. The composition isn't used as much, after several patch changes and character additions.
They're both extremely mobile so it's easier for the two to get around. Although some believe that they should both be nerfed.
Fanon[]
Fans initially drew upon their personalities for shipping potential. Having the two be happy to meet each other, and adding more livelihood to the other characters lives. Although most of the time they end up doing these things separately.
Fan art commonly draw the two in cute situations. Since they are both so young, they often draw upon modern day activities that the two would do together. But like with most D.Va ships, the most popular is the two playing video games. The two being "soft" with each other after a mission is also popular.

Vincent76 is the slash ship between Vincent and Jack Morrison.
Canon[]
Jack and Vincent were together before Jack signed up to fight in the Omnic Wars. He planned to be with Vincent after the war was over, but he ended up becoming a part of Overwatch. Jack became dedicated to the organization full time, and the two broke up. Vincent most likely thought that Jack died in an explosion, just like everyone else who knew him.
Years later, Ana and Jack found each other and are setting out. Ana finds a picture of Jack and Vincent in Jack's bag. She asks if he still holds a candle for Vincent. Jack says that he doesn't, but Ana can tell that he's not being entirely honest.

There were a very large mix of fan reactions to the pairing, and Soldier: 76's sexuality. Most reactions were about the latter, given the three year gap between LGBT reveals. Some fans took to the pair, despite the little known about Vincent.
The pairing instantly became a rival for Reaper76, given it's canon status and placement in the Overwatch timeline. Although so far there have been no major ship wars. On AO3, Vincent76 is the most written ship for Vincent.

Widowhanzo[]
Widowhanzo is the het ship between Widowmaker and Hanzo. AKA: Hanzomaker, Venomous Arrow
Canon[]
Amelie Lacroix (née Guillard) grew up an accomplished ballerina and came to be associated with Overwatch after marrying agent Gerard Lacroix. Amelie met several members of Overwatch, and was an all-around pleasant person until she was kidnapped by Talon for a plot to assassinate her husband. Amelie was tortured and brainwashed until she had been "reprogrammed" as a sleeper agent. Overwatch rescued her and returned her to her normal life where, two weeks later, she successfully killed her husband. Amelie returned to Talon, where she was further reconditioned to be turned into a living weapon. Her former self-gone, Amelie Lacroix became known only as "Widowmaker".
Hanzo Shimada grew up in the Shimada castle next in line to rule the Shimada criminal empire. Because of his destiny, he was trained from an early age in leadership and some practical arts, all of which he showed a natural aptitude for. When his father passed away, Hanzo was given the order to kill his younger brother, Genji, after the latter refused to help the clan. Although Genji survived the attack, Hanzo deeply grieved for his brother and left the Shimada clan with the goal of restoring his lost honor.
Although both Hanzo and Widowmaker travel the world, there is no indication the two have ever met. Outside of their interaction, there is no indication Talon wishes to help Hanzo or restore the Shimada clan.

It is popular to pair the two in formal events with Hanzo's Scion skin and Widowmaker's Black Lily skin. It is also common to see the two engaging in friendly(or not so friendly) shootouts and fighting over the high ground. In more serious works, the two are depicted helping each other heal from their past trauma.
On AO3, Widowhanzo is the fifth most written ship for both Widowmaker and Hanzo.

Canon[]
Moira O’Deorain joined Blackwatch, the secret agency working in Overwatch. Moira, Cassidy, Gabriel, and Genji all worked along side each other, including the Venice incident. They seemed to have a frenemies relationship according to interactions where Cassidy jokes about not enjoying to work with Moira, and in the comic Retribution they are seen together in multiple frames.
Their relationship between the timeframes of Overwatch is complicated. The are seen as enemies during the events of Overwatch 1 but Cassidy compliments Moira in Overwatch 2 interactions, although he is shut down by Moira instantly.
