- Panty, I’m not giving up on you. You’re… everything to me.
- —Brief to Panty
Pantief is the het ship between Panty Anarchy and Briefers Rock from the Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt fandom.
Canon[]
Panty Anarchy is the oldest Anarchy sister, a blonde angel expelled from Heaven for her immoral behavior, obsessed with sex and with the goal of sleeping with 1,000 men to return to Heaven. She transforms her panties into a pistol called a Backlace and is selfish, rude, and dismissive, rarely taking her responsibilities seriously.
Briefer "Brief" Rock is a nerdy teenager and self-proclaimed ghost hunter with a crush on Panty. He is the heir to the Rock Foundation, but is often ridiculed, especially by the Anarchy sisters, and his crush on Panty is humorously explored.
Their relationship is asymmetrical, with Brief acting as a "loving martyr" and Panty treating him with indifference or cruelty, except in specific moments.
Season One[]
"The Turmoil of the Beehive" - Panty and Brief first meet at Daten City High School, as she shoots at bees covering the honeycomb on his head. He falls on his face, recovering and looking up to then be love-struck by Panty’s beauty. She isn’t receptive to this, kicking the honeycomb that falls onto his head once again.
"Catfight Club" - Panty offers Brief a ride, a rare moment of kindness, but Garterbelt interrupts her, reinforcing that she has no real interest in him. This highlights Panty's indifference and Brief's desperation for her attention.
"Les Diaboliques" - Panty compliments Brief and offers sex, but he hesitates, wanting to "take it slow." Frustrated, Panty and Stocking abandon him, demonstrating that Panty's initiative was superficial and driven by impulse, not affection. This reinforces her selfish nature and Brief's naiveté.
"Panty + Brief" - Panty, after being banned from returning to Heaven for her behavior, discovers she can no longer have sex due to "Restored Virgin Syndrome" (her hymen rebuilds itself, causing pain). She chooses Brief as her thousandth partner to break this condition.
They have sex, which restores Panty's powers but also activates Brief's "key penis," which opens the gate to Hell, revealing his identity as the heir to Hell's Monkey.
Panty hesitates to save him when he is captured by demons, showing disinterest, but the sexual act marks a moment of connection, though Panty remains indifferent afterward.
"Bitch Girls" / "Bitch Girls: 2 Bitch" - After Brief accidentally opens the gate to Hell, Panty ignores him when he falls from the sky, reinforcing their lack of attachment. When Garterbelt temporarily dies, Brief confronts the sisters about their apathy, expressing his frustration as the "voice of reason." However, Panty shows no remorse, and the relationship remains one-sided.
Season Two[]
After Corset's death, the demon sisters Scanty and Kneesocks join Anarchy in Cemetery Hills, hunting Hell Coins. Brief remains present, but his relationship with Panty is less directly explored, as the focus is divided with the demon sisters.
"Panty and Stocking: Homecoming" - Brief becomes depressed when Panty is killed by Stocking (due to Corset's mind control). He joins others to save Panty, collecting 666 pieces of her body, demonstrating his loyalty and courage despite Panty's cold treatment.
"Fa Fa F*ck" - When Panty can no longer swear due to the Angel Device cutting off her tounge whenever she attempts too, she finds out she can bypass it by singing, and Brief is the one to convince her to sing and put her heart out in song. Near the end of the episode, Panty thanks Brief for this, claiming that singing is better then sex, and attempts to flirt with him, asking him if he wants to fuck, while singing in an attempt to avoid triggering the device, only for the device to cut off her tounge anyway due to it being upgraded by Garterbelt.
"Heaven Wars Episode 3 - Revenge of the Bitch"
Brief confesses his love to Panty at Lingerine Land, which Panty is shown to reciprocate. A fastforward into the future shows Stocking becoming a sister, taking Garterbelt's place, while giving orders to her nephew, Junior, who is Panty and Brief's son, alongside a demon named Bastard. Photographs show that both Panty and Brief married after escaping from Hell.
Children[]
During the season two finale, it is revealed in a set of family portraits displayed on the church Panty and Stocking used to live in, that Panty and Brief got together and had their only child, a son named Junior - who, similar to his maternal second cousins, the Poly Brothers, speaks in modern lingo - greeting his auntie Stocking with "Sup, chat?"
This would also make Junior the very first canonical hybrid in the series, between a human and an angel.

Fanon[]
The Pantief ship is popular in the fandom, especially on AO3, where fanfics transform the one-sided relationship into a slow-burn romance. Fans imagine Panty, initially indifferent, developing genuine affection for Brief after moments of vulnerability. For example, stories often show Panty realizing the value of Brief's loyalty, especially after her bravery in season two.
Fanfics on AO3 depict Panty, after losing her powers, relying on Brief, who proves her courage. She begins to see him as more than a "nerd," leading to romantic moments, such as a kiss after a battle against ghosts. Panty is often written as a tsundere in fanon, with her rude attitude hiding growing feelings for Brief. Fans explore scenarios where she teases him but secretly appreciates his devotion, creating romantic tension.
Fanart on X shows Panty blushing when Brief compliments her, something nonexistent in canon. Some stories rewrite Panty as someone who matures, overcoming her selfishness to recognize Brief as an equal partner. This is common in post-season two AUs, where Panty returns to Heaven and Brief accompanies her, forming an unlikely couple.
Friendship[]
Fans imagine Panty and Brief developing a reluctant friendship. Brief remains loyal, but Panty begins to respect him as an ally, especially after his heroic actions in season two. Fanfics show Panty defending Brief from bullies or teaching him to be more confident, while maintaining his sarcastic humor.
In AUs, Panty and Brief form a ghostbusting duo, with Brief using Rock Foundation gadgets and Panty using her angelic weapons. These stories highlight the contrast between Panty's impulsiveness and Brief's nerdy intelligence, creating a bond of mutual respect without romanticism.
