Paycheck is the non-binary ship between Chance and Elliot from the Forsaken fandom.
Canon[]
- The game is in it's alpha stage so any major or minor changes to both the game, characters and lore should be expected and changed to reflect that in the possible future.
Chance and Elliot are two playable characters in Forsaken. Chance is an original character made by the developers of Forsaken while Elliot is from an already existing game called Work at a Pizza Place. The two are now stuck in Forsaken having to work together on surviving. Chance is a sentinel character that relies on gambling while Elliot is a support character that can heal others with his pizza.
Elliot and Chance don't have much relevance to each other lore wise; however, in game they have a few connections to each other. The two have two sets of matching skins that can be bought, these skins being Elliot's Nyan skin and Chance's Nayn skin and the two's matching alien skins.
Their Milestone skins have similar features like having star-shaped glasses and hand accessories (specifically Elliot's spike bracelets and Chance's puffed sleeves). Also their familiar poses for their Milestone I skins look similar, where the cross their arms and eyes towards the front while striking the same smile.

Paycheck is a popular ship in the Forsaken fandom, though it can be overshadowed by other ships like DoubleFedora and PizzaBurger. Despite this, the ship still remains a popular one within the community. They are most likely shipped because of the amount of matching skins they have and the potential the two have. It is common to see their skins depicted together, especially their milestone skins because of sharing a few similarities like their star-shaped glasses.
Though Elliot and Chance most likely didn't know each other before they were forsakened, fans like to headcanon that Chance was Elliot's number one customer and sometimes even his best friend. This is probably because of the general gameplay teamwork mechanic of sentinels and supports, usually involving these two characters in a lot of cases. Paycheck's popularity was also fueled by their matching alien and cat skins cranking up a bunch of artwork in the fandom.
Scenarios like Chance buying pizza just to have an excuse to flirt with the pizza guy are usually present in fanart.
The only ships it might rival are PizzaBurger, DoubleFedora and PizzaPunch. Occasionally the two are shipped with Two Time resulting in PaycheckTime, which is a somewhat known poly and trio ship. Other times they are shipped with Mafioso resulting in PizzaDebtGambling.
The ship currently has 260+ works on AO3 and is one of the most popular ships with the two characters.
