Wembley Park Theatre[]
As Greaseball and Rusty are about to fight, Control announces the arrival of the new coach, Pearl. Pearl then comes over and asks not to be pushed or pulled. Greaseball asks if the other engines heard that, laughing at the idea of a coach talking back. Rusty says to leave her alone, but Greaseball says that Pearl can't race on her own. Rusty says he'll take her, and Greaseball says she's all his. Greaseball then gets annoyed by the coaches and starts pushing Pearl around, till Dinah separates her from the engine's.
As the trains hype up for the final race, Electra comes forward and insults Greaseball for keeping Dinah around. Greaseball says that any train would be honored to ride with her, with Rusty pointing out that doesn't include Pearl. Greaseball says that Pearl is aware of how fast she is, and tells her that she knows that no one else cuts it. She tells her to chose, when there's a call for a partner swap for the last race. Greaseball comes up to Pearl, and asks if she wants to give them a whirl, and Pearl excitedly says she'll race with Greaseball. Greaseball asks if she hears her knocking, and Pearl says that shockingly she does. She believes that if she races with her, they're sure to win, when Dinah comes up and interrupts them. Greaseball rolls her eyes, and Pearl assures her not to cry as she'll give Greaseball back after the race, but Dinah just bursts into tears. Pearl starts to regret her decision, when Greaseball tells her it's time to go.

Pearlball is a pretty common pairing in the StEx fandom. It gained some traction after the latest London Revival, with the musical getting more attention, which increased shipping. Some see them as more of friends with benefits kind of relationship, while others see them as getting full together. It's rival ships are Prusty and GreaseDinah. On AO3, Pearlball is the fifth most written ship for Greaseball and the second most written for Pearl. There are currently 9 written works.
