What If... The Watcher Broke His Oath?[]
Peggy (as Captain Carter) is on a mission alongside Natasha to free hostages from a group of pirates led by Georges Bartoc. On a quinjet, Natasha picks up a conversation. She tries to set Peggy up with Bernard in accounting; but she is tuned down by Peggy as Peggy claims that nothing good has ever followed the phrase "Bernard in accounting". Natasha then teases her, asking that if it would be different if the name were "Steve" instead. Peggy jokingly mentions how Natasha has hurt her when they just were becoming pals. She then winks at Natasha and jumps from the Quinjet to fight the pirates.
In the fight with one of the pirates, Peggy is recruited by The Watcher to be a part of a team called "The Guardians of The Multiverse" whose purpose is to stop Ultron from destroying multiverse. As they are having a battle with Ultron, the team meets Natasha from alternative universe who has snatched the soul stone from the team. Peggy stops the team from attacking Natasha and tries to get on her good side. She explains that from the universe she came from, they really trust each other to the point where she already knows about Natasha's family. This gains Natasha's approval.
Natasha then joins the team to defeat Ultron. In the battle, Peggy protects Natasha from Ultron's attack and later helps her to inject Zola virus to Ultron's programming. After they completed their mission, Peggy finds herself back to where she was before getting recruited by the Watcher. She is off her guard at the moment, so she falls to the floor just after the pirate that she was fighting earlier punched her on the face. Natasha appears to tase the pirate until he is unconscious. She questions Natasha if the pirate was her type as she seemed to be struggling with him. Peggy hastily hugs Natasha, telling her that she has never been so happy her, which Natasha responses confusedly.
What If... Captain Carter Fought the HYDRA Stomper?[]
Prior to the events of The Watcher Broke His Oath, Peggy picked Natasha up from her morning jog, calling her "lovely". The events of the previous episode then take place. Continuing from there, the two are attacked by the HYDRA Stomper. In the midst of the attack, Natasha references RoboCop, to which Peggy expresses confusion. Natasha says they'll rent the film, calling it a "solid movie".
After it's revealed that Steve is piloting the Stomper, Peggy expresses outrage that Natasha didn't tell her Steve was in the suit, Natasha states that she didn't want to "break [Peggy's] heart twice."

Fanon[]
PeggyNat initially started as a crack ship. It mostly takes a setting in an alternative timeline where, instead of Steve Rogers, Peggy is the one who receives the super soldier serum. An user on tumblr created several fanarts of Peggy and Natasha in accordance to Captain America: The Winter Soldier movie with Peggy replacing Steve's role. The fanarts then received thousands of positive engagements from fans,[1][2] therefore giving more traction to the ship. The ship gained even more popularity following episode 9 of What If...?, which showed that the two characters had become close friends by the time of that universe's equivalent to The Winter Soldier.
The shippers believe that there is romantic tension depicted in the interactions between the two characters. They also point out how Natasha and Peggy are very close to the point where Peggy knows about Natasha's family, while it is shown in the main timeline that not even the Avengers know about it.[3]
