PenSera is the het ship between Sera and Sir Pentious from the Hazbin Hotel fandom.
Canon[]
Their first ever interaction was at the end of season one during the final moments of "The Show Must Go," as Pentious gets reincarnated in Heaven after getting killed by Adam, while Sera and Emily saw him get there. This confused before parties, with Pentious looking around asking where he was, before noticing Sera and Emily and says "hello" to them, having Sera express a look of shock while Emily's face lit up. Before Sera saw Pentious ascend into Heaven as an angel, she didn't think that sinners could be redeemed and that thought was why she assumed that purging Hell's populous was the only way to keep Heaven safe.
Pentious and Sera in a stalemate
Because Sera refused to believe that Pentious ascended into Heaven through redemption, and due to Adam's death leaving Heaven worried about Hell possibly planning to attack them, it had Sera assume that Pentious forced his way past their pearly gates. One month after his arrival Sera puts him on trail, hoping that she'll get answers from him, but Pentious didn't know how he got into Heaven either and Sera acting hostile towards him didn't help matters. To mask his fear Pentious hisses at Sera, while being bound in angelic chains and surrounded by other angels thinking the worse of him. At first Sera refused to listen to any reasoning from viewing Pentious as an enemy, until the Speaker of God appears and calms Sera down before asking Pentious to share his story. Hearing how Pentious carries the guilty that sent him to Hell and was able to atone for his sin through his sacrifice for his friends, Sera realised that Pentious has been redeemed and sheds a tear. Finally expecting that redemption is possible and now that Pentious is a soul of Heaven, it is their duty to care for him. Sera leaves Pentious to Emily, while she begins to wonder what her next course of action should be. Since Pentious's arrival in Heaven changes things and it has also left Sera feeling that she has her own sins to atone for, now that the yearly extermination is public knowledge and no longer sees it as necessary. Before "Storyteller" ends, Pentious hears Sera make her announcement to place Heaven into lockdown, and sees the angelic barrier she is putting up from his new living quarters. Sera also announced that any new souls entering Heaven must be vetted, just in case those souls turn out to be sinners like Pentious was, as she is still adjusting to Pentious's redemption and her fears of Hell haven't faded.
When Sera and a few other angels notice Charlie trying to reach out to them in "Silenced," Emily brings Pentious in to serve as their hell export, to help them make a choice. Due to seven years of having Hell's populous exterminated, Sera wasn't sure how to approach this matter or how they should apologies to them, but Pentious offered Sera wisdom he learned from Charlie; it starts with sorry. This gets Sera to agree with the idea to answer Charlie's call to them and to tell Hell that Heaven doesn't wish to fight them anymore. Pentious watched Sera and the others leave for Hell with hope that everything will turn out alright, but when they returned Sera tells Pentious that Hell has just declared war on Heaven.
Fanon[]
PenSera is a very small ship in the fandom, with very little fans. Since the two only have one interaction in the first season, that led to the ship's creation before season two aired and provided PenSera with other interactions between them. The other reason for PenSera's small fanbase is because people prefer to ship CherriSnake, which is canon and has Pentious's other ships be overlooked.
However, some think that since Sir Pentious is now in heaven, they believe that him and Sera will date. Even though Sera didn't appear too pleased by his ascension, and people were worried that her fears of Hell would have Sera wanting to keep her distance from Pentious. When "Storyteller" opened with Sera putting Pentious on trial from refusing to expect the truth, it didn't came as a surprise to those who assumed that Sera would try to kick Pentious out of Heaven or force him to hide his sinner origins, to face save from her earlier words about redemption being impossible. After Sera and Pentious were given their own duet song, however, the ship's support grew. From how "Live to Live" has the two bonding, as Pentious helps Sera better understand humans and how she too can atone.
