Penliy is the het ship between Pen and Liy from the Battle for Dream Island fandom.
Canon[]
Battle for BFDI[]
While forming teams, Pen ends up joining Liy's team, later named Death P.A.C.T. When Pen suggests that they form a team name, Liy wants it to be related to the fact that most of their members joined to avoid causing death. Later at the start of the challenge, Liy and her teammates cheer when Pen wins for the team.
During Death P.A.C.T.'s first Cake at Stake, Liy is concerned when Pen falls over from being screeched. After Liy is revealed to be eliminated, Pen watches her as she walks off and rants about her team efforts being unappreciated. Liy flips her switch out of anger, although Pen doesn't think of it as much. However, when Liy's toggle switches sides to reveal another switch on the back, Pen freaks out over this.
The Power of Two[]
Category One[]
After Liy debuts in the season, she chooses to join team BAGGED. When Two introduces her to the team, she is happy to see Pen again after a long time. Later when Pen becomes devastated over Needle's elimination, Liy comforts him and reassures he'll have her by his side. For the challenge, the team is tasked with getting the giant David outside of the hotel to leave. When Pen asks what they can use to put it to sleep, Liy gets an idea and asks Pen and Bottle to follow her. Approaching the door of Two's room, Liy warns Pen and Bottle not to wake Two up so their team doesn't automatically lose. Pen is irritated by the door being locked, though Liy uses the master key she won earlier for debuting to unlock the door. As Liy and Pen quietly enter Two's room, Bottle accidentally trips and knocks them to the ground. Hearing Two make a startled sound, Liy and Pen panic and quickly hide under Two's bed. The two shush each other until Pen realizes that Bottle isn't under the bed with them. Liy peaks and realizes the milk bottle Two was holding is gone as well. After realizing Bottle swapped herself with the milk bottle to obtain the milk they need to put the David to sleep, Pen and Liy follow Bottle out the door. Upon regrouping with Tennis Ball and TV, the three are impressed with Tennis Ball's invention utilizing TV to distract David. Tennis Ball and TV explain the plan to get Pen and Liy to use the milk Bottle collected to put David to sleep. Liy, Pen, Bottle, and TV cheer and make their way outside to carry out the plan. After TV is far enough away, Liy, Pen, and Bottle are given a boost by Black Hole to get onto the David. TV calls for the David's attention while Bottle, Liy, and Pen hold onto its legs as it walks. After some walking, Liy hands Bottle over to Pen as they both climb up towards the David's head. The three are shook off the David when it screams, although the storm's wind allows them to land on the David's head. After dangling onto its head, Pen and Liy land on the David's mouth as Liy pours Bottle's milk into its mouth. Once the David starts snoring, the wind blows the three away from its head.
I SAID CAREFUL![]
Liy observes Pen during Cake at Stake as Eraser is eliminated. Watching Pen's visible distress as he hugs Eraser goodbye, Liy feels a twinge of sympathy, reflecting on the weight of his losses. Later, when Black Hole uses his gravity powers to lift his team, Liy accuses him of cheating. She retaliates by hurling Pen at Fanny, disrupting Black Hole’s strategy. Pen and Liy share a triumphant high-five, momentarily bonding over their successful sabotage. When Snowball traps Liy's team under a flurry of snow, tensions rise. Liy’s frustration boils over as Snowball mocks and antagonizes her, flipping her light switch and shoving her. She warns him not to push her limits, but the conflict escalates until Pen intervenes, stepping in to defend her. The confrontation leads to a chaotic fight between teams, which only grows worse when they fall into a pit filled with snow. Despite their combined efforts, CloudYAY secures victory, leaving Liy’s team facing elimination.
Seasonal Shift[]
Liy and Pen work together to make a paper airplane while they are in BFB 5's timeline. Pen explains to Liy that she was eliminated right before that challenge, clarifying her confusion about the situation. During an aerial battle, Liy flips her face to activate a speed and agility boost. She takes Kitchen Sink out of their boat mid-air and glides back to her team's yacht, shattering Kitchen Sink's body in the process. Pen is present during this sequence but does not engage directly in the combat. Later, in BFDIA 1's timeline, when Pen is guilty over his BFDIA 1 self's eagerness to execute Leafy, Liy says he shouldn't worry, and that everyone has regrets. Later, the pair huddle with Bottle as the timeline begins to collapse. After the crisis is averted, they can be seen high-fiving.
The Power of Four[]
Pen recovered Liy after Pencil kicked her, not knowing she was inside Pillow. Later, the two and Tennis Ball ran over to hide in The Clubhouse of Awesomeness. After Tennis Ball was tagged by Four, Pen and Liy ran away. They hid inside Roboty's chest compartment. After Liy heard water, they went outside and saw that they're at the waterfall. Pen tells her that he finds the place amazing and otherworldly, but then added how she must be sick of them after everything that happened inside Four. Liy agrees with him, saying she's especially sick of waterfalls. Pen sits down and asks her if she wants to talk about it. She tells the story of "Out of the Blue", when she was with Match and Stapy. Pen later talked about how he's mad at Pencil for joining TPOT and how he wishes he could've chased her down. When Liy asks him why he didn't let out his anger, he admitted that he's never done something like that before. She tells him that anger is not a bad thing and that it's okay to let it out, as long as he can control it. Pen listens to her advice and vents out how he's angry at Pencil, thinking it's her fault that Eraser got eliminated and the world nearly got destroyed. Liy was, at first, proud of him, but when he started to break the bridge they were sitting on, she grew concerned and told him that he has to control his anger. When he finally broke it, the two ran to safety. Pen calmed down and told her that it felt good and thanked her. When X found them, the two ran away as fast as possible. When they climbed up a tree, Liy asked Pen if he saw X anywhere. He answers they're safe, but X found them, so they started running away again. They eventually fell into a hyperealistic universe and then inside Four's eye. The two were eventually tagged. After realising CloudYAY still hadn't been tagged, Pen ran up to their hiding spot as Liy cheered for him. Unfortunately, Pencil, Golf Ball and Donut escaped with the Freesmart Supervan, causing Pen to crashout as he desperately tells Liy that he can't lose her or anyone else, though she comforts him. Some time later, after Pen crashed the Supervan, Liy was in a state of shock. Suddenly, Pen thought of saving Pencil after remembering the trauma she witnessed in the EXIT. Liy then came up to him and told him to not let his anger control him, leading to Pen deciding to save Pencil by throwing the FreeSmart van out of the way to prevent CloudYAY getting tagged by Four. Liy then congratulates Pen after being able to control his anger. After realising CloudYAY lost twice, Pen and Liy got happy. After finding Bottle's hiding place, the two and everyone else cheered for her.
Bottle for Dream Island[]
Liy comes looking for Pen in the Clubhouse of Awesomeness and overhears him mention her when he's talking to Pencil. He says that Liy, Bottle, and Needle mean so much to him, and he would have regretted pushing them away if he had let his sadness at losing his old friends consume him. At this, Liy smiles and leaves the two alone.
Last One Standing[]
Liy and Pen run together to get Two’s help, only to get some of Two’s power and then run out of the room together. When it was announced that Liy was in the bottom two, Pen is shown shaking but when it was announced Liy was safe both her and Pen hugged each other. During the challenge, Liy makes Black Hole her biggest target but Pen then tries talking it out to Liy and their time during Death Pact. Liy mentioned that Death Pact had it out for her, to which made Pen question if she thought of that for Pen as well. Later on, they go on their separate ways during the majority of the challenge. In the middle of the challenge, Liy holds a picture of the Death Pact members and talks to herself about how Death Pact doesn’t care for her and Pen.

Fanon[]
At first known as a rarepair for both characters' side, Penliy has grown as a ship over the time and is nowadays known as a solidly popular ship in the Battle for Dream Island fandom. The pairing first roamed around at the start of BFB when the season put the two together as teammates. It was not looked into by many due to Liy's early elimination, which would reduce the chance of the two interacting further. Still, some shippers were interested in the idea as a couple as evidenced by fan art on DeviantArt and discussion on other platforms.
However, the pairing would finally gain a lot of attention in the fifth season of BFDI, TPOT. When Liy debuted and got teamed up with Pen again, the season gave them a much better chance to develop a friendship, which was showcased very well. The two would become best friends and help each other out with their needs and concerns and have lots of new interactions.
The ship, despite its popularity, still rivals some other pairings such as Penraser and Stapliy.
