After the penultimate race, Rusty realizes that CB didn't take off the brakes, causing him to crash. He confronts CB on this, and Pearl overhears. She asks if this is true and Greaseball confirms this. Pearl plans to go to the Marshalls for what CB did to Rusty. Greaseball however blackmails her into saying nothing and she's forced to leave Rusty as CB taunts him.

PinkRustedBreaks is a rarepair in the StEx fandom. Mostly due to the three not having any significant interactions between all three of them after the original London Production. With most of the shipping coming from productions that were in place before the major revamp to the show. Though there is still a following among those who enjoy the post 2018 changes. As well as some just preferring to ship CB with other trains. Most ship it as a result of wanting both Pearl and CB to be together with Rusty. With CB and Pearl either getting together afterwards, or just staying as friends as they continue to be with the engine. The ship names comes from Pearl being pink prior to 2018, Rusty's name and CB being a break van who likes to crash others. It's main rival ships include Hyprusty and Electraboose.
Fans of the ships often like the idea of the three cuddling together for warmth in the winter time. Pearl and CB specifically cuddling up to Rusty due to being a warm engine with a firebox. Some fans also prefer to be fluffier with the ships. Preferring the idea of CB and Pearl complimenting and flirting with Rusty just to make him flustered more than anything else. The ship is also well liked by those who enjoy making fan kids.
