PlepSwan is the het ship between Shermy Plepler and Patty Swanson from the Peanuts fandom.
Canon[]
Shermy and Patty (along with Charlie Brown) were one of the two earliest characters of the strip, appearing in the very first strip on October 2, 1950. Shermy sat on the curb with Patty, and spoke the first lines of dialogue, ending with "Good ol' Charlie Brown ... How I hate him!".
In the early years, Shermy was sometimes shown as being in a relationship with Patty, often holding hands and talking about their feelings for one another. Patty mainly seemed interested in Shermy for his collection of comic books. In the strip October 21, 1950, Shermy and Patty walk and hold hands with Snoopy walks along with them. Charlie Brown is holding a flower stand, and Shermy asks for one. Patty believes it is for her, though it is actually Snoopy who receives the flower, much to her dismay.
In a strip from November 21, 1950, Shermy stands behind a sitting Patty and asks if she loves him anymore. When Patty asks Shermy about his comic book collection, he tells her that he bought four more comic books yesterday. Patty then turns to him and exclaims, "I love you madly!"
In the December 27, 1950 strip centred around the two, Patty tells Shermy that she cannot marry him. As she walks away, Shermy follows, asking why not. She replies, that she hasn't known him long enough. When they both pause on some steps, Shermy, looking puzzled, asks, "Well, what do you expect? I've only been alive for a few years!"
After the 1950s, Shermy and Patty's presence in Peanuts significantly diminished. Their roles reduced to occasional, long-distance cameos, often as background figures in baseball game scenes. As Charles Schulz shifted the strip's focus toward characters like Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the growing ensemble, Patty's appearances became increasingly rare by 1960. Shermy, too, faded from regular storylines and completely disappeared from the strip.
