PokéSilverShipping is the het ship between Ash and Lyra from the Pokémon fandom.

Canon[]

Lyra is a female Pokémon Trainer from Johto, she appears only during Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl - Galactic Battles. It all starts in the episode ""An Egg Scramble!", where Ash and his friends help a Marill that was stuck, not knowing it was Lyra's.

Lyra shows up, meeting Ash and thanks him for finding and saving Marill. Lyra offers Ash to go to a festival that was being held nearby. A little later, when Khoury was calling a "phone" of Lyra's, Ash asks what it was and Lyra says that it's actually a Pokégear that has a phone function. Already at the Johto festival held in Sinnoh, Lyra shows everyone her own projected video about the Johto region, which relaxes Ash, as he has memories of traveling through the Johto region that he did earlier in Pokémon the Series: Johto Journeys.

After Team Rocket steals a Cydnaquil egg from the festival, Lyra decides to accompany Ash and his friends to retrieve it. They succesfully retrieve this egg, which hatches and a Cydnaquil is born and is captured by Dawn.

In the episode "Gone With the Windworks!", Lyra and Khoury enjoy watching Ash's battle against Dawn's Cydnaquil. Suddenly, Lyra's Marill is lost, entering a wind power plant. Ash and Lyra, with their friends, keep track on Marill, entering the said power plant, but they're attacked by Magnemite, the Guard Pokémon in this plant. Fortunately, they meet the security guard, who offers to assist them, causing them to finally find Marill. However, Team Rocket causes an electrical overload to the wind power plant, which causes all the doors to close, unable to open.

While Ash, Brock and Khoury try to open a vent cover, the girls are standing at the opposite wall and Lyra says to Dawn that if she'll be stuck forever in the room, she would like to get married. She disregards Khoury and then asks Dawn if Ash is her boyfriend, to which she declines. Lyra asks who Dawn thinks would be the best for such a situation out of the three boys, and Dawn says that she really doesn't know. Lyra presses Dawn on the subject, but is shocked when Dawn tells her that she never really thought about it. Here, it is implied that Lyra has an interest in Ash. She admires his bravery and wishes Khoury acted more like him.

When Ash uses Grotle to try to open the door, Lyra admires his confidence, though Grotle's attack ends up bouncing around the room. Pikachu finally manages to activate the plant's electricity again, the trainers finally make it out of the plant.

In the episode "A Rivalry to Gible On!", Brock is left accompanying Nurse Joy, so the trainers decide to go confront a Gible. Lyra prefers to follow Ash, who is in front, not caring if Dawn or Khoury come along. Gible manages to repel Ash and Khoury's Pokémon, and then escapes. At first, it's implied that Lyra was quite concerned that Ash and Dawn would literally become a "couple.", Lyra decides to accompany Ash alone, tries to help him catch Gible and tells Dawn to stay with Khoury.

Ash uses all possible attacks of his Pokémon, but Gible ends up knocking him and Lyra to the ground with Sand Attack. Ash and Lyra try different methods to lure Gible, but he manages to evade them and escapes into a cave.

Ash rushes ahead of Lyra, trying to quickly find Gible before Khoury and Dawn, but he falls into the Arena Trap of a Trapinch. After Khoury rescues Ash, Dawn begins to seriously argue with Ash, causing them to get along very badly and this makes Ash still deciding to go with Lyra to search for the Gible instead of going with Dawn, who preferred going with Khoury. This implies that he prefers searching with Lyra to searching with Dawn, whom he has known for much longer, or just wants to ensure her safety.

Inside the cave, when Monferno accidentally damages a Diglett with the Dig move, the Digletts and Dugtrios retaliate by taking Ash and Lyra. They ended up together near some part of the cave, but unfortunately, some Zubat start chasing everyone, separating Ash from Lyra, because of an Onyx hitting a part of the cave while chasing Khoury and Dawn.

Lyra is reunited with Khoury, while Ash meets Dawn again. They all left the cave together and Gible was waiting to fight. Ash and Khoury were fighting and trying to capture Gible, but only Khoury manages to capture Gible, causing Lyra to stop being interested in Ash and start focusing on Khoury.

Finally, in the episode "Bagged Then Tagged!", Lyra and Khoury finally prepare for their last battle of all. Ash and Dawn send out Monferno and Cyndaquil respectively, and Khoury remarks that his choice of Pokémon is easy. He sends out Totodile while Lyra chooses Chikorita, much to Khoury's amazement.

After a good strategy by Lyra, using Light screen, they dominate the fight and surprisingly Khoury's Totodile evolves into Croconaw. However, a combination of Monferno's Flamethrower and Cyndaquil's Flame Wheel ends the fight, leaving Ash and Dawn as the winners.

After the battle, the group has lunch together. During their break, Khoury raves about how awesome he thought Lyra's strategies were. Lyra then asks if he would like to go on a journey together. Khoury is surprised that she would ask, but when she asks if he doesn't want to, Khoury tells her he would be glad to travel with her. Khoury's dad calls him on his Pokégear to say that their flight back to Johto will be leaving any minute. The group hurries to the airport, with Khoury's dad giving Brock a Pokégear as a parting gift. Lyra, Khoury, and Khoury's dad board a blimp and return to Johto.

Since then, Ash and Lyra have never, ever seen each other again.

Fanon[]

This is one of the popular minor pairings in the Diamond and Pearl fandom. Many of their fans who prefer this ship focus on how Ash became acquainted with a secondary companion like Lyra. When Dawn argues with Ash, it causes them to go with other companions, such as Khoury in Dawn's case and Lyra in Ash's, reinforcing both PokéSilverShipping and BrightShipping (Khoury x Dawn).

Rival pairings mainly tend to be PearlShipping (Ash x Dawn) and JohtofestaShipping (Khoury x Lyra). Still, the four characters form a quadrilateral of pairings, resulting in the polyship called TogetherShipping.
