The Power of Two[]

Black Hole, Fanny, Marker, and Tree all join the new Death P.A.C.T. Again team at the start of the season. Black Hole and Tree were members of the original Death P.A.C.T. team from the previous season Battle for BFDI. As a result of a couple of the original members leaving, Fanny and Marker, along with Lightning, were able to take up the open slots as new members. For the first challenge, the team has to figure out how to get onto the top of the hotel roof with Lightning already there and the hotel elevators being broken. After Remote makes a plan to take the stairs and use Black Hole's gravity to boost them up, she, Tree, Fanny, Marker, and Pie follow through and climb up to the fourth floor. However, upon testing it once they get up there to find that they didn't think the plan through, the team passes out from exhaustion. Once Fanny recharges Remote with one of her batteries, she carries the rest of them up to the top of the floor. Realizing they still have to get Black Hole, Tree pulls out a megaphone which he accidentally drops into Black Hole. Tree thinks that it would have gotten his attention if it landed next to him instead of in him, prompting Fanny and Marker to find something else to throw. Remote gives up her battery for Tree to use, which gets Black Hole's attention when it hits the ground. However, Black Hole doesn't fly up fast enough and The Strongest Team on Earth beats them in being the last one safe, putting Death P.A.C.T. Again up for elimination.

Before the team's Cake at Stake ceremony, Black Hole and Fanny are outside the hotel while Tree and Marker assist Pie and Lightning with getting a new battery for Remote. After Lightning makes a deal with Cloudy, the team is satisfied to see Cloudy with the battery, though the relief is short lived as Cloudy accidentally drops the battery into Black Hole. At Cake at Stake, Black Hole, Tree, Fanny, and Marker are the 1st, 4th, 5th, and 6th ones safe respectively and Pie is eliminated. For the block stacking challenge, Black Hole wonders what he can do for the team and is insulted when Marker says that he sucks. Fanny clarifies that Marker meant they could use his suction ability to help them, and she states she can't do anything either. Black Hole is unsure if the idea will work and he accidentally sucks up all of their blocks in the process. As Black Hole tries to make it clear that he didn't intentionally suck the blocks up to prove a point, Tree gets the idea to steal blocks from other teams, which Marker and Fanny are excited by. After the team reunites, Tree returns with vlocks, Marker and Fanny have Rocky who can barf up blocks for them, and Black Hole and Lightning provide batteries they found for Remote. The team goes to the recovery center to recover Remote when she falls into a puddle of acid shortly afterwards. As they walk back to their stack, the six of them are visibly shocked by the sight of Pillow killing Price Tag with the acid puddle. Remote leaves to follow Pillow, and Black Hole, Fanny, and Lightning stick together to shorten the other teams' stacks. This leaves Marker and Tree to stay behind and continue adding to their stack of blocks. The three later reunite with Marker and Tree only to find that Teardrop is destroying their stack with a laser. Marker, Lightning, Black Hole, and Fanny all huddle together to enact revenge on Teardrop, leaving an irritated Tree to look after their stack. Afterwards, Black Hole is the only one to return where he tells Tree about Teardrop killing everyone else. The two walk over to the recovery center where Tree recovers Fanny, Marker, and Lightning. At the end of the challenge, the team ends up with 5 blocks stacked and is safe from elimination.

Before the third challenge, Tree, Black Hole, and Marker agree to focus less on the challenge and more on preventing death because of a chaotic sequence of events that happened prior. The team overhears Golf Ball's plan of using tools from her factory where they follow her inside to prevent death-related possibilities as Fanny describes it. As they learn the team's idea of building a roller coaster, Fanny complains about dying by falling off which gives Remote the idea to make a landing pad. Marker grabs a sheet from the factory and the team heads back up to make the landing pad. After Marker and Lightning finish making the landing pad, Tree tries it out and enjoys being bounced up by the sheet. Black Hole warns Tree not to play on it since the platform is strictly for death prevention. During the reviewing of the attractions when Two gets launched off the rollercoaster, the team's safety net saves Two from falling, where they give Death P.A.C.T. Again a score of 10 out of 10.

In the fourth challenge, Marker picks a biome out of a hat where he informs the team that their team's Funny Plant is in the jungle. Upon arriving, Lightning accidentally electrocutes and damages their plant to the concern of Tree and the other members. Fanny angrily shouts that she hates Lightning being there and Black Hole reluctantly agrees, telling Lightning that he should go back home while trying to preserve his feelings. Marker agrees and pulls the teleporting bracelet out of Lightning's hand. Later, Puffball suddenly appears in the jungle to Marker's surprise. When she announces her intention to kill their Funny Plant, Tree tries to warn her about the castle they built around it only to see her fly right above it. Fanny, Marker, Tree, and Remote all order her to leave and Tree asks Black Hole to pull Puffball out of the castle. However, Black Hole doesn't want to risk killing Puffball by getting too close to her. When Remote reminds Puffball that her team will lose if she kills the plant herself, Fanny and Marker laugh at her plan being foiled. Puffball then takes Ice Cube to the jungle and slams her into the ground next to the plant, presenting Death P.A.C.T. Again with a dilemma: let the plant absorb Ice Cube's water and kill her in the process, or snip the plant to save Ice Cube which will cost them the challenge. After Remote is unable to pull Ice Cube out of the ground, Black Hole, Tree, Fanny, and Marker ultimately decide to kill the plant to save Ice Cube's life. Marker grabs Two's scissors and brings it to the jungle, which Tree uses to snip the plant. This spares Ice Cube from dying, although Two tells them the news that this has put them up for elimination. Black Hole, Tree, and Remote justify it as a necessary sacrifice, although Fanny yells at them for not noticing that Marker is on fire.

At Cake at Stake, Marker, Black Hole, and Tree are the first three safe for their team. Fanny is the last one safe and Remote is eliminated. For the plate retrieving challenge, Fanny asks what their strategy is and hears from Marker about wanting to dive in the water while holding their breaths. He presents a Yoyle Dance book that will allow them to communicate underwater, which Fanny and Tree skim through. The three successfully communicate through dance, although Black Hole points out that they can't hold their breaths forever underwater. Marker believes that he can prevent death by holding their breaths and the three go underwater anyways, annoying Black Hole. Despite Fanny drowning underwater, Marker and Tree are able to retrieve a plate which Lightning turns into Two, making the team safe.

For the dinner contest, Death P.A.C.T. Again goes over to Gelatin's Steakhouse when Black Hole suggests making a simple meal for Two. Tree finds a box of 100 chocolate balls and likes the idea, although Teardrop comes in and takes the box from them which Fanny yells at her for. Lightning finds a fish in the freezer and gives it to Marker, although he and Black Hole are unsure of whether to use the fish since it is already dead. Marker thinks of making a fish roll in honor of its memory, which gets Fanny to thank the fish for its service. After finishing the roll, Black Hole wants to undo the fish's death, calling it the "ultimate death prevention". After Lightning remembers finding various devices in Golf Ball's factory, the four follow him to where the factory is. A drowsy Tree looks through a pile of devices to find one that they can use, although Fanny is concerned about Tree's condition. Upon finding a time reversal ray, Tree uses it on Marker to find that a burn he experienced earlier at the steakhouse is now undone. Fanny orders them to use the reversal ray on the fish, where it comes back to life to their surprise. Lightning, Marker, Tree, and Black Hole dance to celebrate and Fanny orders them to turn in the fish roll. At night when Two reviews each team's meals, the fish eats Two twice to their shock. Two gives Death P.A.C.T. Again a score of 2 out of 10, putting them up for elimination.

At their third Cake at Stake as a team, Tree and Marker are the first two safe and are put into the Yoyle Pit as a prize. Black Hole is announced the next safe, leaving Fanny and Lightning in the bottom two. Fanny is announced the last one safe shortly afterwards, making a conflicted Lightning point out how he got out because he helped prioritize preventing death instead of doing the challenge. This angers Lightning and causes him to go on a spree of zapping his surroundings, leaving the surviving Death P.A.C.T. Again members to try and console him to no avail. Fanny is finally able to calm Lightning down and leaves him with a promise to avenge him as Two sends Lightning away. At this point, Black Hole, Fanny, Marker, and Tree now make up the entire remaining Death P.A.C.T. Again team. When they are tasked with fixing The World's Largest Oven, Marker and Black Hole immediately focus on destroying the oven to prevent death. Fanny speaks up about how it'll make them lose and quickly defends herself by reminding them that Remote and Lightning got out because of the team's neglect to do the challenges. Tree tries to tell her about death prevention being the team's identity; Fanny responds about them all disappearing, where death will occur anyways without them to prevent it. As Black Hole urges her to think of the P.A.C.T., Fanny angrily announces her hatred of it to the shock of the other three. Black Hole demands Fanny to take back what she said, causing Marker to intervene to try and assure Black Hole that Fanny loves the P.A.C.T. Fanny then yells at Marker for stating the exact opposite of her point. Fanny calls Pillow, a former Death P.A.C.T. member, to try and teach the three the positives of death. As Black Hole refuses to listen, Fanny and Pillow decide to grab Tree and drag him away to chop him up. Black Hole contemplates whether he should help Tree or not and decides to do so despite the risks. However, Black Hole accidentally stretches Tree out and causes him to rip apart to his death to the delight of Pillow. Black Hole and Fanny continue to argue over Tree's death until Just Not arrives and offers them a trade for a glass panel. When Fanny gives them Tree's dead body in return, Marker realizes that they got exactly what they needed for the oven because they killed Tree. Black Hole is deeply shocked while Fanny is amazed to find that causing death got them what they needed. Two places the glass panel in the oven and finds that it fits in perfectly, making their team the first one safe. Black Hole hates the new strategy and Fanny heartily laughs about it.

Black Hole and Fanny are by the recovery center where Black Hole orders Fanny to revive Tree after what happened in the last challenge. However, when she does, Tree is not exerted out of the recovery center. As Black Hole is shocked by this, Marker claims that the machine just needs his special touch, but Tree does not come out either despite Marker typing Tree's name multiple times in the machine. Thinking that Tree is gone forever, Black Hole scolds Fanny for being the cause of his death. For the balance beam challenge, Black Hole is excluded for being a flying contestant and Tree is excluded because Two thinks he is purposefully absent, leaving only Fanny and Marker to compete for their team. Black Hole complains to the two about the lack of members and blames Fanny again for killing Tree. Fanny defends herself and feels glad they tried something else before Marker steps in and pleads for them to stop fighting, saying they can both prevent death and win challenges. As Donut tries to make a deal between the two, Fanny sees Tree in the distance where he is now giant and limbless on the canal. Tree tells a concerned Black Hole that someone gave life back to his corpse, causing him to appear as is when he was recovered. Later when Golf Ball and Puffball crash into Tree, Black Hole asks for Marker and Fanny to help despite their differences. Not knowing that they're being tricked, Marker jumps off the balance beam and swims to save Tree, leaving Fanny to complain about being the last one left for their team. In the end of the challenge, Fanny narrowly survives despite only remaining as a mouth, winning for their team.

During the zombie apocalypse, Black Hole, Marker, and Fanny are huddled by the canal where Tree is. Tree notices Onigiri and Rubber Spatula, both infected, approaching them, urging Black Hole to stop them and suck them up. When Black Hole is unsure whether to do so or not since they are not technically dead, Marker sees Fanny trembling in anger and is grateful that she can't argue about it with the team since her mouth was taken off last challenge. Marker proposes the idea to move Tree despite Black Hole pointing out his large size. Since they don't have a better idea, Marker and Fanny jump into the water and start digging to where Tree's roots are. A nervous Tree asks them to hurry where Black Hole roams around to find protection for Tree. He grabs parts of Cloudy's collection and taunts the two zombies with them to protect Tree. As Marker asks Black Hole for more time, the latter sees the two zombies being unbothered by the stash, climbing up them when Black Hole tries to place the stash down as a barrier for Tree. Just then, as Fanny and Marker keep digging beneath Tree, Bell approaches the team where she notices a largened Snowball heading right towards the team. He ends up knocking over the stash, flinging the two zombies away in the process. Black Hole pulls Snowball away from the team when he crashes into Tree. Afterwards, Black Hole finds that the team is no longer in danger and feels confident that he saved Tree from the apocalypse. At the end of the challenge, Death P.A.C.T. Again is the first team safe since all four of them survived the apocalypse.

The next challenge has each team put in one of their members' nightmares, where Fanny, Marker, and Tree all in their original forms are placed inside of Black Hole's nightmare. Marker is happy to be reunited with the two where they quickly find out that Black Hole's nightmare is about death. After they see him suck up Two and the former Death P.A.C.T. members, Tree orders Fanny and Marker to start running. Marker urges Black Hole to stop only to get sucked up in the process, leaving Fanny and Tree to escape Black Hole's wrath. Later on, the two run into a recovery center where they use it to bring back Marker. However, Black Hole almost immediately sucks him back up which Fanny yells at Black Hole for. After Tree gets sucked up while him and Fanny escape via a rocket, Black Hole and Fanny are now the only ones left in the white void. The two confront each other about the consequences of their actions, particularly with Black Hole's obsessive nature about strictly preventing death. After the two come to an agreement on focusing on life rather than death, Black Hole wakes up and Fanny and Marker are taken back to the grasslands. Black Hole comes to an agreement that it would be best for Tree if Fanny and Marker get him out of the canal.

As Marker is nearly done chopping up Tree, Black Hole warns him to let go before he falls. However, Tree falls down and crushes Marker and Fanny to Black Hole's annoyance. Later on when Two announces the new Team Swap phase of the competition, the four remain on the same team. Tree points this out and his happy to stick together, with Marker also being glad to have Gaty and Pin as new members to help prevent death with them. However, Fanny is visibly angry but cannot comment because she still lacks her mouth. When Tree thinks that the P.A.C.T. could use better management, Pin offers to be their team leader which Marker and Black Hole are fine with. Their new team name ends up being Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again. For the first challenge as a new team, Pin gives each of them a task: Black Hole and Marker look for something large to put in their pit and Fanny and Tree go with Pin to sabotage the other teams. Black Hole and Marker later return to the team with a giant David to put in, Fanny and Pin fill the pit with various gadgets they took, and Tree ends up being stuck glued to TV for most of the challenge. The team ends up being placed in first after Team 2's moon accidentally rolls into their pit, though this means that they also get Robot Flower as a new member to their disdain.

In the next challenge, Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again is tasked with keeping bugs out of the hotel during the storm. Fanny and Black Hole make an announcement at the start of the challenge that they have changed the P.A.C.T. slightly to prioritize the best for everyone. Marker and Tree are shocked and question if this means the end of the P.A.C.T., with Black Hole clarifying that they're just prioritizing life while Fanny insists they needed to make compromises. The new members of the team tell Robot Flower to stop killing the bugs and Fanny realizes she is being intentionally difficult with them. The team surrounds Robot Flower who all commence a fight with her after she slams Roboty into Gaty. As Robot Flower pins Gaty to the wall using Pin, Tree sneaks up behind her where they take the fight up to the kitchen. After Tree throws food at her and gets knocked out of the hotel from a blender thrown at him, Marker kicks and bites her as she runs through him. He goes after Robot Flower onto the floor above and gets sprayed with a fire extinguisher. When a short circuiting Robot Flower electrocutes Marker afterwards, Fanny is approached by her where she gets launched up the stairs. Fanny is then pinned down at the end of the hallway and, despite her pleading Robot Flower not to do so, she is thrown out the window. Black Hole sees Fanny falling and pulls her back into the hotel where she kicks down and knocks Robot Flower unconscious. After Robot Flower is fixed and restored to her original calmer personality, Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again regroups on the first floor where Fanny approves Black Hole leaving his post to fly up and end the storm. The rest of the team understands that they've prevented death as much as they could and they must now kill the rest of the bugs in the hotel. However, Marker makes Fanny aware of the last bug they need to kill going up the stairs. The team fails to get it in time and they are put up for elimination when the bug enters Two's room.

Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again's first elimination has Black Hole, Fanny, and Marker as the first three safe in that order. Tree ends up in the bottom two where he is the last one safe, with Gaty being eliminated. As the newbies of the team commemorate her, Marker and Tree celebrate that the original members are all safe, though this ends up being insensitive towards the newbies. For the capture the flag challenge, Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again decides to go for the snowy mountain alongside Team 2 and BAGGED. Black Hole lifts up Fanny, Tree, Marker, Pin, and Robot Flower when they are faced with climbing a mountain. Liy finds it unfair that Black Hole has this ability, throwing Pen at Fanny to knock her off. Robot Flower then suddenly gets an order for her store and runs off, causing Tree, Marker, and Pin to fall off Black Hole's grip as well. Once Tree recovers Fanny, Black the team stops BAGGED from stealing Robot Flower's jetpacks, where Black Hole supplies one for Pin, Tree, Marker, and Fanny to use. The team all flies up to a cabin on the mountain where Black Hole goes further up to get the flag per Pin's request. Tree gets covered in snow and wants to go in the cabin to warm up, but Marker gets worried about Black Hole and wants to check up on him. He flies up with his jetpack and is followed by Fanny and Tree. While in the air, Tree notices that Pin and Robot Flower aren't with them and finds that Pin's jetpack broke as she tried to lift herself and Robot Flower up. Fanny comments on her hatred of the jetpack breaking, Marker urges the team to check on Black Hole, and Tree finds a path that they can all walk through despite the warning signs surrounding it. After making it to the top of the mountain, Fanny, Tree, Marker, and Pin find Black Hole trying to pull a plant monster away from the flag without waking it up. However, Robot Flower accidentally launches the group over to the plant monster, where it wakes up and smashes Robot Flower to the ground. The team is angered by this, where they all approach it similar to how they took down Robot Flower last challenge. Right as Tree lunges at the plant monster, he is knocked to the ground, forming a crack that breaks beneath them. Black Hole saves Fanny, Marker, and Pin from falling but lets them go when Marker asks Black Hole to get rid of the monster. After Grassy captures the first flag for his team, Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again teams up with the other two teams to stop CloudYAY from getting the second flag. However, after everyone is recovered back on the ground, a fight breaks out and the plant monster crushes Marker and Fanny. It then eats the rest of Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again sans Black Hole. He focuses his efforts on stopping the monster from killing anyone else, but he does not make it to the last flag in time.

As Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again and BAGGED gather up for the next Cake at Stake, Black Hole suddenly experiences sudden changes through his surroundings that no one else seems to be aware of. The timeline has been altered by the failed debuters in the past to where the hotel is now flat on the ground and Marker is now green. Black Hole tries to explain this to the teams to no avail. Cake at Stake continues on with the hosts constantly switching around as a result of anomalies, with Black Hole and Fanny being the first two safe for Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again. As Black Hole tries to reason with the others about the situation, Marker is revealed the 4th safe and Tree survives the bottom two again, with Robot Flower being eliminated. Eventually when One adjusts everyone's memories to be unaffected by the timeline changes, the challenge is announced where the teams must go back in the past and retrieve the failed debuters. Black Hole stays behind with TV to watch over the teams while Fanny, Marker, Tree, and Pin travel back to BFB 16 to get Anchor. After the four return to the present with him, Marker shows Anchor to Black Hole but quickly realizes that Two isn't back yet like they should be. Though, Black Hole notices that the crack in the sky caused by the changes shrinks because of the team's efforts. He tells them that the other teams are too busy focusing on the challenge to fix up the timeline, prompting Tree and Fanny to focus on fixing the past rather than retrieving the rest of the failed debuters. Marker and Pin join the two in going back to BFDI 5 to fix up what CloudYAY caused in hopes of further shrinking the crack. Afterwards, Black Hole alerts the team that CloudYAY vanished without the Yoylite with them. Tree assures Black Hole that they'll do what they can, where their next mission is going to BFB 22 where CloudYAY caused a mark in that point. After the four return from doing so, Tree is shocked to see the crack in the sky still expanding despite their efforts. Black Hole shows how CloudYAY has been mainly responsible for the issue, with Fanny determined to go back and stop them. However, the Yoylite is then drained from its power, leaving CloudYAY stuck in the past. After the team accidentally causes Leafy to be allowed into Dream Island in the past, the present reality begins to warp out of their control. Black Hole believes that they are doomed, making Marker, Tree, Fanny, and Pin huddle up for what they believe are their final moments together. Afterwards, because of a deal by One that most of the contestants are unaware of, most of reality is restored to the delight of the contestants. Black Hole notices the crack still present in the sky, but believes he can manage it at its current state. Marker thanks Black Hole for taking care of the crack, where he learns from Tree that he is still green from the timeline shift. Fanny concludes that they're in good shape even with the changes carried over. Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again is put up for elimination for retrieving only one failed debuter.

During their third Cake at Stake in a row, Black Hole, Fanny, Marker, and Tree all survive in that order, with Pin being the next one out of Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again. Pin is devastated by the news, thinking that she thought she would be a good leader and now believes she can't do as good without Coiny. Marker, Fanny, Tree, and Black Hole all help her feel better about it by pointing out how she made it as far as she did and that she left a good influence on the team. As Pin thanks Tree for helping her, she gifts Tree her golden token before Four takes her away. The next challenge is hide and seek where the teams are given time to hide before Four and X come looking for them. Fanny decides to chase after CloudYAY where she tells her team to look for a hiding place. Black Hole tells them that he's going to stay and manage the crack in the sky, leaving Tree and Marker to find a place for themselves. Tree and Marker decide to tag Team 2 with them to create trust amongst the two teams, where the group goes to the forest to look for a tree to hide in. When the time is up, Fanny is immediately tagged out and Black Hole is eventually found by Four as well. Marker and Tree end up remaining untagged throughout the challenge, leaving the team to be safe from elimination.

For the challenge Bottle hosts, she splits each team into four groups of four with one member representing each team. Tree is assigned to the haunted house, Marker is assigned to the Ferris wheel, Fanny is assigned to the Fourse riding tent, and Black Hole is put in the eating contest. After each of the contests are done, the team regroups as Bottle goes over each team's totals. For Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again, Marker and Tree both placed first in their respective groups with four points each, and Black Hole and Fanny both got third in their groups with two points each. Their team gets twelve points total and ties with CloudYAY for 1st, which Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again is satisfied with.

At the start of the battle royale challenge, Marker, Fanny, and Tree run outside to where Black Hole is as Tree asks if he's coming with them. Black Hole stresses the importance of him staying to manage the crack, which has only grown further out of control since the previous challenge. Tree is then struck by the rift, turning him purple. As the team goes back to the hotel, Marker finds Fanny being mutilated by Pencil. Fanny ends up being the first one killed, with Marker being targeted and killed next by Liy. Tree eventually gets ran over by the Fourse chasing Bottle, leaving Black Hole to be the last one for their team. Near the end of the challenge, Black Hole is then suddenly taken away by One and put in her dimension, disqualifying him from the challenge. Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again is the first team to lose all of their members, putting them up for elimination.

Fanon[]

While not as common as a ship, the four as a group has been relatively popular throughout the Battle for Dream Island fandom. The four have stuck together throughout almost the entire season of The Power of Two so far, even in the season's new set of teams. Since their different relationships with each other have been explored in each episode, the four as a close group has been mainly backed up in art and fan works focusing on their characteristics. The highest ranking members of Death P.A.C.T. Again, the four in the new edition of their team have also been proven popular in the show as they have all outlasted the new team's newbies, Gaty, Robot Flower, and Pin, in each of their eliminations.

As a ship, the name Poly Pact may refer to any given poly pairing between the Death P.A.C.T. members, although the ship with these four is usually the more common usage. The ship combines the four's six pairings with each other and certain shippers may focus on pairing two of the ships together, for example, Fanhole and Trarker. Before the series largely focused on the four of them together, a past rendition of the ship included Lightning in the poly as well.

On AO3, as of August 16, 2025, the ship has 3 works in its romantic tag and 40 under its platonic tag.
