With Hera finally being allowed to give her own Boons in the second game after being absent from the first, she got the opportunity to create some Duo Boons with the other Olympians. Her Boon with Poseidon is called "Golden Rule" and it allows Melinoe to increase the damage dealt by her based on the amount of coins she had collected in one run.

Kaos[]

Hera and Poseidon had started an affair behind Zeus' back sometime before the events of the show, despite Zeus considering his marriage to Hera to be an open relationship, Hera tries to keep the affair a secret to hurt Zeus. She and Poseidon do not directly interact in the first episode, only when Zeus is outraged that a monument to honor his family had been vandalized, Hera tries to calm him down by telling him Poseidon shall deal with hit.

Dealing with it he does in the third episode, when President Minos goes to one of Hera's temples to confess his sins, feeling responsible for the monument getting defaced as he blames the Trojan immigrants he had given shelter in Krete. Poseidon suddenly switches places with the tacita (a toungless priestess of Hera) Minos was talking to, threatening Minos into ensuring that the vandals will be snuffed out and punished for their blasphemy.

At the beginning of the fourth episode, Hera watches Zeus kill off his servants one-by-one after noticing one of his many golden watches went missing. She reports this to Poseidon on the phone, more concerned about Zeus getting distracted from his plans involving natural disasters than the lives of their servants. Exasperated, she demands Poseidon shall look for the watch, suggesting that Dionysus should know where it is. When Poseidon confronts Dionysus about him stealing his father's watch, Dionysus not only admits to it, but also brags about letting a living mortal enter the Underworld to impress Zeus, only for Poseidon to warn his nephew that Zeus shouldn't find out about that as it would only make things worse than they already are.

In the fifth episode, Zeus exploits Hera not being in her bathroom to delight himself to listening to the desperate pleas of his worshippers as things on Earth get worse every day. However, Hera insisting on a group of tacitas surrounding her has her fail to realize that it was only a matter of time until someone found out about her affair. Though Zeus finds out that his wife had been cheating on him, he couldn't identify the voice of her lover, he tries to torture one of the priestesses for information. But since the tacitas can't speak, all that did was Zeus killing one of them and leading to a distressed Hera finding the corpse of one of her priestesses later. Enraged, Hera asks Zeus for proof that she was cheating on him, but Zeus couldn't tell which tongue it was that copies Hera's voice, so Hera considers the case closed.

Later, during a meeting with Hades and Persephone to discuss the source of their immortality becoming unstable, Hera and Poseidon witness Zeus torture Hades by forcing him to swim in Zeus' pool and then hitting it with lightning. As Hades survives, Zeus' family is forced to continue to tolerate that Zeus not above harming them like he would harm any mortal. Since the prophecy deciding their downfall hinges on President Minos killing the Minotaur, Poseidon and Hera pay him a "visit" to pressure him into it. When Minos shows reluctance, the two of them threaten to kidnap and torment his daughter Ari should Minos fail to fulfill his part of the prophecy in any way. But when Dionysus finds out that Orpheus, the mortal he helped resurrect his wife, had actually succeeded in getting to her, he wants to go to Poseidon for advice. But when Dionysus approaches Poseidon, he catches him and Hera having sex in broad daylight, with Hera screaming as she fears that Dionysus will snitch on them now.

Once Hera leaves, Poseidon discusses what Dionysus had seen and explains that he genuinely loves Hera and plans to elope with her despite her already being married to their brother. When Zeus calls his available family members in for another meeting, Poseidon reveals these plans to Hera behind closed doors, but Hera refuses to leave her position for him.

In the final episode, when Zeus reveals that their meander would have to be rationed due to a shortage, Poseidon decides it is the right time to confess his feelings for Hera to everyone. Zeus thinks his brother had gone mad, Poseidon turning to Hera for support only has her laugh it off after recovering from the shock. But when Zeus crosses the line by killing a defenseless animal to spite Dionysus, all of the other gods turn on him, but Hera and Poseidon part ways instead of eloping.

The romantic version the Hera/Poseidon ship is close to non-existent in most fandoms, with Kaos being the only fandom to actually canonize this. Despite that, AO3 does not feature a Kaos-specific tag for it, with the one fanfic shipping them sorted under the tag for the show being under the tag for their mythological counterparts.
