Prinxiety is the slash ship between Roman Sanders and Virgil Sanders from the Sanders Sides fandom.

Canon[]

Virgil and Roman are two of Thomas' sides. Virgil is a former Dark Side, now Core Side, who represents anxiety, and Roman is one of the Core Sides who represents romantic creativity.

The two are first shown together in the episode, "Taking on ANXIETY with Lilly Singh!!" Where Roman and Virgil almost instantly shown having a negative relationship. The two often insult each other in different episodes and Roman gives Virgil a variety of different, usually hurtful, now nicer, nicknames throughout the episodes.

In "Alone On VALENTINE'S DAY" Roman says Logan and Patton aren't as handsome as him because they "have glasses like nerds." Virgil laughs slightly at this, and Roman says, "What are you laughing at, Hot Topic?" Virgil replies with, "Aw, you think I'm hot." which Roman doesn't deny. In the endcard, Virgil says Roman's way of going on a date wouldn't have worked and that he thinks he can do better. Patton then teleports Roman over to Virgil, who was expecting Valerie, not Roman. The two are holding hands, and they both scream, but neither pulls away.

In the episode "Am I ORIGINAL?" when Roman rises up he says, "Not so fast, my chemically imbalanced romance!" to Virgil, calling him his "romance". This could be unintentional, as he was making a jab at the music Virgil liked and didn't mean it in a romantic way.

In "Becoming a CARTOON!" Thomas said that his cartoon self would fight crime, and in the scenario showed Virgil was the villain he was fighting. When Virgil falls off a building he was on, Roman catches him and says, "Don't worry, everyone loves the villain." Later in the episode, Roman calls Virgil "the fairest of them all" because Thomas and Logan were using the word "fair", but they weren't using it in the same context Roman was. Everyone looks at Roman strangely after that. He awkwardly explains that it's because Virgil is so pale. Virgil brushes it off and leaves and they all seem to forget about it after that.

In "ACCEPTING ANXIETY, Part 1/2: Excepting Anxiety!" Virgil "ducks out" and is not present in Thomas. This causes Thomas to be care free and the other sides are worried aside from Roman, who claims Virgil isn't necessary and says he doesn't like Virgil. The sides and Thomas then go to Virgil's corner of Thomas's mind. Roman and Virgil along with the other sides argue for a while and Roman calls Virgil a "creepy cookie," and an oatmeal raisin cookie and tells Virgil no one wants him. Roman then tells Virgil that he makes him and the other sides better, Virgil smiles. The sides leave Virgil's corner and Roman tells Virgil that he saved him. Virgil then tells the sides his name and Roman laughs at a joke Patton made, saying Virgil should be called Virgan instead. Roman then tells Virgil that it took a lot to trust them with his name.

In another episode, "Fitting In (Hogwarts Houses!)" the sides are arguing over the color of Thomas's hair when they start fitting into Hogwarts houses. Roman assigns all the sides to a house without a second thought and says Virgil is Slytherin because he's 'the dark and sinister one.' Roman and Virgil argue throughout the episode. When Roman changes his appearance, Virgil looks him up and down and is the only one who doesn't say anything. Then when Virgil gets an outfit change and Roman says it's magnificent that he 'managed to become even angstier.' Roman then rushes to say that if that's how Virgil wants to look then that's how he should look and he's unique. Roman says this in an awkward manner, his words abruptly fitting together. This could be a reference to "Alone on VALENTINE'S DAY!" when Virgil said that if you just wing it when talking to someone you like, you could get "all tongue-tied, jumbled, confused."

In "Reacting to Sanders Sides COSPLAY!" Thomas mentions that Virgil and Roman have an "off-and-on relationship".

In a later episode, "The Sanders Sides 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS!", after singing "my true love", Roman glances at Virgil, then smiles and sighs to himself happily. Later, when Logan asks who the true love was Roman quickly says it doesn't matter.

In, "Learning New Things About Ourselves" they all sing a song together to work through their issues. In Virgil's verse, he says, "When you lo-CARE for someone, not much hurts more than their scorn." almost saying that he loves the other sides(but specifically Roman, who made fun of him the most).

In the episode, "Are There Healthy Distractions?" Logan wonders why Roman is the one making fun of the move they're watching, when Roman is also the one who rigged the vote so they'd watch what he wanted. Roman replies with, "Look, this is how I show my love." Roman also made fun of Virgil a lot in earlier episodes.

In "Flirting With Social Anxiety" Thomas says he needs to act on his feelings when practicing what he's going to say to Nico. Virgil seems to realize something when he says this. Later, as Thomas, Roman, and Virgil watch Nico walk away, Roman says, "One more chance at happiness squandered. It's probably for the best..." he then looks down sadly. Virgil looks over at him, then Nico, then Roman again. He then starts to breathe heavily, panicking, then pushes Thomas towards Nico. The entire episode, Virgil didn't want Thomas to talk to Nico at all, but when he saw how heartbroken Roman was, he literally pushed Thomas to talk to him. Later in the episode, Roman and Virgil are talking while they watch Thomas and Nico. Roman thanks Virgil for pushing Thomas to talk to Nico, and Virgil says he doesn't know why he did that, or what he even did. Roman says he was brave, and Virgil blushes and becomes flustered. He tries to deny that he was brave, and Roman affectionately says, "Shut up, emo." He then turns away with small hearts coming off of him, though these could be because of Nico. At the end of "Flirting with Social Anxiety", Virgil said, "Thomas, do you need to pee? I think you need to pee." Thomas then agreed and left the room(presumably going to the bathroom), leaving Virgil and Roman alone. A few seconds later Thomas comes back and says, "I did not need to pee." Virgil snaps his head around to look at him in a slightly annoyed way. Later on, he again asks Thomas if he has to pee, most likely wanting him to leave the room so he can tell Roman something in private.

In "Return of the Jam" Patton draws Virgil and Roman holding hands.

In a q+a Joan said they wanted Virgil's name to go with Roman's.

People began shipping the two quickly after the first episode Virgil was introduced in. Thomas (who plays Roman and Virgil) is aware of the ship's existence and he and his friends have made jokes and references to the ship in videos and tweets. They are one of the most popular ships in the fandom. Roman and Virgil's relationship is a complicated one, they are usually at odds with each other but are sometimes on good terms. Roman occasionally gives Virgil positive nicknames rather than insulting him for being edgy and sometimes compliments Virgil. Roman sometimes is shown having a small amount of respect for Virgil, Virgil also is shown with respect of Roman.
