Before the final race, Greaseball brags that any car would be honored to rid with him. Rusty buts in to say that Pearl wouldn't, but Greaseball says that she would. He tells Pearl to make a choice between him and Electra, as she skates in front of Rusty. Control announces that anyone can switch partners before the last race, and Rusty is about to ask Pearl, but Greaseball beats him to it.

Rusty and Greaseball are about to get into a fight, when Control announces that they got a new coach named Pearl. Pearl then arrives, and asks not to be pushed and pulled. Greaseball makes fun of her talking back, but Rusty buts in and tells her to leave Pearl alone. Greaseball says that Pearl can't race on her own, and Rusty says that he can handle one more. Greaseball says that Pearl is all his, and the two shyly say hi to each other. Greaseball and Golden Eagle then start pushing Pearl around, and Rusty tries to stop them, but is pushed away.
After Electra insults Greaseball's choice of partner, Greaseball says that any car would be proud to ride with her. Rusty says that doesn't include Pearl, which offends Pearl. Greaseball says that Pearl knows she's fast, and for her to chose to either go with Greaseball, or lose with Electra.
After Rusty crashes in the finals, Pearl goes to check on him. Both are sad over the circumstances, when Greaseball comes in with Slick. They make fun of Rusty's injury and Pearl realizes that Greaseball caused Rusty to get hurt. Greaseball says it's what he gets for taking her on, and Pearl plans to tell the marshalls. However, Greaseball says that Pearl will just get suspended, and speeds off. Pearl is upset that this is what it's come to and says so to Rusty before skating off.
