Quadruple Duck Date is the friendship between Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Huey Duck, April Duck, Dewey Duck, May Duck, Louie Duck, and June Duck from the Mickey Mouse and Friends fandom.
Canon[]
Donald Duck was introduced in 1934 in the animated short "The Wise Little Hen." Sources differ on the exact origin of his girlfriend Daisy Duck, with a prototype version named Donna Duck first appearing in 1937 while Daisy proper appeared in 1940. Huey, Dewey, and Louie Duck debuted in 1937 in comics, before making their way into animation in 1938. April, May, and June first appeared in comics in 1953, and it wasn't until 2001 that they made their first appearance in animation.
Donald is the guardian of Huey, Dewey, and Louie, having assumed full time care responsibilities for them after the disappearance of their parents. Daisy's situation with her nieces varies: some works depict her as their full-time caregiver, while others only have them visiting her on occasion. In either case, Donald and Daisy's ongoing romance often brings Donald's nephews into contact with Daisy's nieces. The eight ducks have been known to all go on outings together, with the nephews and nieces pairing off in company with Donald and Daisy.
The dynamics of the group can often be tempestuous, as both Donald and Daisy are known for being temperamental, and their nephews and nieces at times have similar temperaments. Donald and the boys are at times intimidated by their female counterparts, who rarely if ever take any nonsense. In general, however, their interactions are at least civil and more often than not cordial. Daisy and the girls are often invited to events with Donald and the boys, even when they have no other known connection to the individuals gathering.
Were Donald and Daisy to marry, Donald would become the girls' uncle and Daisy would become the boys' aunt. In some works, Donald and Daisy's connection is such that the boys already refer to her as Aunt Daisy. Daisy's nieces are also fond of Donald, often helping him out in difficulties. What is less clear is how the two sets of triplets might feel about sharing a home with each other in the event of Donald and Daisy's marriage, or about the ensuing change to the dynamics between them.
Fanon[]
While Donald, the nephews, and Daisy have all appeared fairly prominently in comics and animation in the years since their introduction, Daisy's nieces have not fared as well. It wasn't until the twenty-first century that the trio made their way into animation, and even then, their appearances have been limited. Their popularity in comics is also largely found outside the United States, where they are among the more obscure characters in the Donald Duck cast. Few fan works featuring the trio, and thus their dynamic with Donald, his nephews, and their aunt, are to be found.
