- We can find a purpose outside the roles we were destined to play!
- —Quincy to TJ in Icyridge Castle right before they battle
Quilt is the slash ship between TJ and Quincy from the Doodle World fandom.
Canon[]
The two are rivals that the player could encounter and get to know better during the events of the Key Hunt.
Quincy and TJ first meet in the Von Sweetsville help center; where the two of them, along with Suzie, devise a plan in order to get into the factory. Quincy opposes TJ's plan of stealing one of the factory worker's clothes in order to get into the factory, asking if it was the best TJ could come up with. TJ goes along with his plan anyways, and successfully manages to give to group access to the factory. However, he has to stay behind to be with the secretary as Quincy and Suzie thank the 'mysterious employee' that is TJ.
Upon getting the Candy Key, the player goes outside to meet up with TJ once again, and he asks you to gather Quincy and Suzie into the front of the factory. The three of them talks about the next key location; the Academy. Quincy says he'd just threaten the Key Holder with expulsion unless they give him the key, which TJ remarks that it would be unlikely to work. Because of the Qilintel situation unleashed by Zavier; Quincy, TJ, and the player forms a meeting with the student president to know more about Qilintel, DoodleCo, and the history of the school. Quincy starts to finally open up to TJ when TJ casually introduces Quincy as one of his friends; to which Quincy is shocked about, as Quincy has never been considered a friend to many due to his behavior.
When TJ gets revealed as a timeline anomaly, Quincy shows the most concern about his wellbeing out of anyone else. His concern for TJ grows the more antagonistic TJ becomes, refusing to give up on him even when TJ pushes him and the friend group away.
When TJ attempts to challenge the player for the Frigid Key, Quincy decides to battle in the player's stead, hoping that his battle with TJ would help him come back to them. Quincy tells TJ that they aren't defined by their fate; and that he understands the feeling of trying to live up to a certain role, as he was the child of DoodleCo's CEO. Despite TJ's lack of words, Suzie notices TJ wavering at Quincy's efforts.
During the Bridge scene, Quincy personally reaches out to TJ. Saying that the Key Hunt shouldn't impede on their friendship. TJ thanks him wholeheartedly.
Fanon[]
Quilt is the earliestband most popular ship in the Doodle World fandom due to their chemistry and importance to each other's character development.
Shippers often jokingly remark about Quincy's longing "yearning" for TJ with how much Quincy attempts to reconcile with him and how much he mentions him compared to the rest, especially during the later arcs of the story.
Quincy is often portrayed as easily flustered with TJ being the more direct one due to Quincy's (initially) closed off and snobby personality making him not used to such affections.
