Rainbowpaint is the femslash ship between Rainbow Assortment and Oils Paint from the Animatic Battle fandom.
Canon[]
During team forming, Rainbow Assortment tells Do that she and her friend Oils Paint will gladly team up with them. The three all later follow B Block on joining Meatball's team, filling all eight spots for their newly formed team. As the contestants wait for Animatic to start the challenge, Rainbow Assortment calls Oils Paint quite the fastpoke after Oils Paint refers to Animatic as a slowpoke. Oils Paint enjoys being called so, feeling that she is indeed fast herself. In the challenge, the two demand Meatball to help out with removing the M they were tasked to get rid of. They join the rest of the Happy Meatball team in taking Meatball's stretchable limbs and using it to pop the M. This ends up working, although the two are unfazed when Meatball sobs over losing the M.
For the second challenge, Rainbow Assortment and Oils Paint join Happy Meatball in a hole to hide from Animatic. After some time in the hole, the two, along with most of the rest of the team, grow concerned for B Block when she starts developing the temptation to tell Animatic where they're hiding. After B Block escapes the hole to do so, the two and Meatball leave the hole to chase after her. As Meatball demands B Block to return to the hole, Oils Paint calls for B Block to stop acting so mischievous and Rainbow Assortment agrees with her. The four end up getting captured by Animatic shortly afterwards.
As Rainbow Assortment checks in on Flashlight and Squirt Gun who are still in the hole from the previous challenge, Oils Paint tells her that it's rude to interrupt their business. Rainbow Assortment defends herself and mentions that she's only checking up on them since it's been a while. During the challenge, Oils Paint and Rainbow Assortment check up on their sunflower after it has fully grown. Oils Paint is confident that their flower has fully grown and Animatic marks their team safe to the two's content.
Behind the Scenes[]
Both the respective recommenders (character creators) of Oils Paint and Rainbow Assortment have expressed approval for the ship.[1][2] This led shippers through the fandom to believe that the ship is canon within the show itself, although writer Sacri clarified that recommenders don't necessarily have control over this.
Fanon[]
Rainbowpaint is highly respected among shippers of the show. This is mainly due to the fact that the ship is supported by the two creators of the characters, leading many to see the ship as confirmed or in a canon manner. Alongside this, the two's friendly banter through the series so far led yuri shippers in particular to enjoy their dynamic. Inspiring romantic art of the two, several parody accounts of the show also like to portray the two as dating. It is one of the most popular ships for both Rainbow Assortment and Oils Paint.
