Rariblood is the het ship between Rarity and Prince Blueblood from the My Little Pony fandom.
Canon[]
Rarity was aware of Blueblood prior to the events of “The Ticket Master”, and considered him to be “the most handsome, eligible unicorn stallion in Canterlot.” Rarity had fantasized being introduced to him at the Grand Galloping Gala, and the two of them falling in love at first sight. She anticipated that he would soon propose to her, and that their marriage would see her become a princess. Rarity was thus greatly dismayed to learn that Twilight, who had an extra ticket to the gala, seemingly intended to invite Pinkie Pie instead.
In “The Best Night Ever”, Rarity finally gets the chance to meet Blueblood at the Gala, and found him just as attractive as she’d imagined-at least, physically speaking. However, she is soon disappointed by his character, which she gets her first hint of when he picks a rose and wears it himself rather than offering it to her. Later, instead of offering her a cushion to sit on in the garden, Blueblood claims it for himself. Still, Rarity is determined to give Blueblood a chance.
Rarity is initially pleased when he prevents her from stepping into a puddle on the dance floor. Unfortunately, Blueblood then uses Rarity’s cloak to cover the puddle so that he doesn’t slip, much to Rarity’s disgust. Later, both come to a closed door, only to discover that each of them expects the other to open it for them. After a brief stare down in which neither concedes, Blueblood turns and walks in another direction, forcing Rarity to follow.
Blueblood’s utter lack of chivalry is further showcased when the pair visit a snack stand that Applejack has set up. Rarity orders for the two of them but expects Blueblood to offer to pay, while he clearly expects her to pay for him. Just as Rarity is about to cave in, Applejack kindly fills her friend’s order without charging her. Grateful for this act, Rarity makes a cutting remark about how it contrasts to what she’s observed of Blueblood’s behavior. Upon realizing that he’s eating common apple-based food, however, Blueblood behaves even more horribly in response to Applejack’s generosity, further souring Rarity’s perception of him.
Rarity finally has her fill of Blueblood when he uses her to shield himself from a flying cake. Enraged, she tells Blueblood exactly what she thinks of him, though the prissy Blueblood is more concerned by the close proximity of her now cake-covered form. Further disgusted by his vanity and cowardice, Rarity deliberately shakes herself and sprays him with cake. As Rarity and her friends are fleeing the now disaster of a gala, Rarity loses one of her glass slippers. When Pinkie Pie comments that this will allow Blueblood to find her again, Rarity reacts with such horror and disgust to the very concept that she smashes the slipper underhoof rather than simply retrieving it.
Despite these mishaps, Blueblood later proves quite amiable to Rarity when they meet again in “Sweet and Elite.” Rarity, a figure of recent popularity with other members of Canterlot high society, also manages to behave civilly in close proximity to Blueblood. The two take part in the launching of a new airship, with Blueblood allowing Rarity the honor of releasing a bottle to smash against its hull. In “Magical Mystery Cure”, Rarity briefly flashes back to her first encounter with Blueblood.
In the IDW comics story My Little Pony: Deviations, an alternate reality’s Blueblood is briefly smitten upon first encountering Rarity during a crisis in Ponyville. Though temporarily gallant, sharing a scarf with Rarity, he soon proved just as despicable-if not more so-than his cartoon series counterpart. When Rarity shares a plan to use magic-repelling fabric against the villainous Nightmare Moon, Blueblood promptly confiscates the fabric and reclaims his scarf. This brings an end to Rarity’s own short-lived feelings for Blueblood. After Blueblood’s behavior has the unexpected benefit of helping Nightmare Moon turn from her evil ways-out of sheer horror at being compared to Blueblood-Rarity apparently joins the denizens of Ponyville in supporting the suggestion that the repentant villainess do everyone a favor and send Blueblood to occupy her own former place of exile: the moon.

Incredibly, in spite of Blueblood’s beastly behavior in his interactions with Rarity after they first met, the pairing still enjoys some support among fans. It is possible that some fans believe Blueblood has the capacity to change for the better, a recurring theme in the Friendship is Magic series. The fact that he showed a pleasanter side in later material also works in his favor. However, the ship remains rather low in the rankings of pairings involving Rarity, losing out to the likes of RariPants or, especially, Sparity. As for Blueblood, he interacts with so few characters over the course of the series that virtually any ship involving him has less going for it than pairing him with Rarity
There are only 3 works featuring the pairing on AO3.
