Red Flag Magnet is the poly ship between Seong Gi-hun, Cho Sang-woo, Hwang In-ho and The Salesman from the Squid Game fandom.
Canon[]
Season 1[]
The three have seen Gi-hun all at different states in various ways. Sang-woo and The Salesman have both met him outside the games with Sang-woo and In-ho playing the games with him. In-ho, as the Front Man has also watched Gi-hun play in the 33rd and shortly in the 36th game before joining the games as a player. Considering the games can only be joined after being recruited, it is assumed that The Salesman was the one to recruit Sang-woo.
The Salesman approaches Gi-hun by asking him about an opportunity, but Gi-hun feels uncomfortable with this and points his lighter gun at him, causing The Salesman to panic. Then, after Gi-hun shows that it's a lighter, The Salesman quickly composes himself and invites Gi-hun to play Ddakji with him. The winner will receive ₩100,000. Hearing this, Gi-hun reluctantly agrees to play. Gi-hun loses the first round but The Salesman succeeds. The Salesman asks if Gi-hun has any money, but Gi-hun refuses and is slapped in the face as a substitute to pay for the ₩100,000. Gi-hun decides to keep playing but continues to lose, getting slapped in the face multiple times until he finally wins. Gi-hun tries to get revenge by slapping The Salesman, but The Salesman blocks him and hands him the prize money. It's assumed that the Salesman does this to Sang-woo as well.
After that the Salesman asks Gi-hun if he wants to partake in the 33rd Squid Game, doubtful about this offer the Salesman tells Gi-hun all about his debt problems using it as a way to persuade him to agree. Gi-hun asks how he even got this info to which The Salesman just hands him a card telling him to call soon as there isn't to many spots left. Eventually Gi-hun decides to partake in the games. When he joins them, he finds out Sang-woo is also in the games and greets him during Red Light, Green Light. Sang-woo tells him that they'll talk later after the game ends, where he helps Gi-hun survive by telling him to hide behind others. After the game, Gi-hun votes to leave the games while Sang-woo votes to continue the games, with the vote ultimately ending in a win for Gi-hun's choice.
Sometime later he notices Sang-woo his other childhood friend in town again. Gi-hun hands him coffee and the two have a little chat, where he finds out about Sang-woo's debt. After Gi-hun knows of his mothers illness, and rejects Jun-ho's offer to help find his brother, he has chose to come back to the games. Sang-woo also has chosen to come back to the games after he attempted to kill himself.
During the games, Sang-woo and Gi-hun are together as a group when they aren't playing, while in Tug of War they are together in Team Four. The two make it to the final three with Kang Sae-byeok after Glass Stepping Stones, and Gi-hun gets into an argument with Sang-woo because he isn't happy with Sang-woo's choice of killing Player 017. After dinner, Gi-hun comes up to talk to Sae-byeok and is ready to kill Sang-woo but gets interrupted by her when she tells him to not kill him, because in her words he's not that type of person. Sang-woo later on does kill her when Gi-hun tries to get help for her because she got a fatal injury, and that angers Gi-hun. The two play the final game, Squid Game, where the two fight until death. During the fight, Gi-hun gets the upperhand and can end the game, however he choses not to and extends his hand to Sang-woo instead so they both get out. However, Sang-woo choses to stab himself in the neck, which leaves Gi-hun devastated and the sole winner of the 33rd Annual Squid Game.
The Front Man, also known as In-ho, is occasionally seen monitoring Gi-hun and Sang-woo's progress through the games via screens, enjoying jazz music and sipping whisky throughout the events. Finally meeting face-to-face upon the car ride to the mainland, the two have a talk where In-ho compares Gi-hun to a horse and has also shown surprise to his victory. He later drops him off on the streets with a debit card in the player's mouth.

Fanon[]
After 457's rise to popularity, many fans started to bring up Gi-hun's other popular Gi-hun ships. Specifically Sangihun and SalesHun were brought up because the 3 ships share a "toxic" factor to their dynamic and many shippers find all three of these men being interested in Gi-hun to be funny. People also like to imagine how Gi-hun would even end up with such a harem, with most thinking how funny the interactions between the 3 red flags would be. It especially becomes better if the 3 don't even know of each others existance, or they do know about each other anyway, and figure out how to live with Gi-hun being their main focus.
The three are seen to be "red flags" because of their roles and actions towards Gi-hun. Sang-woo is seen as a red flag due to his actions towards other players such as killing them and also because of their argument with Gi-hun, while The Salesman and In-ho work for the Squid Games that Gi-hun is trying to take down. As well as, The Salesman has slapped Gi-hun numerous times while playing Ddakji, which prompted people to think he enjoys his job at recruiting in such questionable matters. He has also mentioned he killed his father with no remorse and has been working at the Squid Games for a long time, which would make people see him as a red flag. In-ho is the Front Man and has not stopped the games while seeing several hundreds of people die. He has also snapped the neck of a player during Mingle, showing how easy it is for him to get to violence if needed. Due to these reasons they are seen to be bad for Gi-hun as they have all interacted with him either on good or bad terms, hence the name "Red Flag Magnet". However, that's one of the main aspects as to why people ship the three with him because they want to imagine how Gi-hun would react to have attracted such people to him.
Just like with Gihun's Harem many shippers love it for the jealous/possessive suitors aspect of it, especially added by the fact that in here it's only toxic men or "red flags" with Gi-hun. Kim Jeong-rae is usually brought up as an honor mention in this category for the ship.
Animation videos like this are a good example of what the ship's content is usually like. It's extremely popular with fanart and memes commonly found on Twitter and TikTok. There are also works on AO3 about the ship, however you have to search for all the three ships individually in order to find fanfiction of it. Most of them include A/B/O dynamics and AU's where the Squid Games either don't exist or Canon Divergence.
It's often believed that Sang-woo prefers Gi-hun's fluffy longer hair and In-ho prefers Gi-hun's shorter hair, while the Salesman prefers Gi-hun's red hair. As well as, that they just all prefer his long hair where occasionally In-ho is the only one to prefer his shorter hair. This became a popular idea with the ship because the three have seen Gi-hun in all 3 different states, with Sang-woo being the only exception. This is because In-ho and the Salesman have seen Gi-hun with all three hairstyles. The Salesman has met him with his long and red hairstyles at metro stations and has seen his short hair when they were in the Pink Motel. In-ho has watched him play with fluffy hair as the Front Man, has put on a tracker on him when he had red and played with him when he had short hair as a player. Occasionally, people like to imagine how Sang-woo would react to Gi-hun with his short hair.
The name for the ship mainly stems from fans addressing the ship as "Gi-hun being a magnet to psychos", "Gi-hun got all these Red Flags all over him" or “Gi-Hun is a magnet for red flags” where words like red flag, magnet and toxic, for example, get thrown around a lot.
It's only real rival could be the solo versions of the ships or Gihun's Harem but even then that's debatable as it's pretty common for most Gihun's Harem fancontent to actually just be Red Flag Magnet fancontent.
