Reinhtar is the het ship between Ishtar and Reinhardt from the Fire Emblem fandom.
Canon[]
Early life[]
Ishtar is the daughter of the duke of Friege. Reinhardt is a knight of Friege. Ishtar was a descendant of the crusader Thrud and inherits his holy blood and the ability to use the magic tome Mjölnir. She was nicknamed the goddess of thunder. Reinhardt was considered to look like Thrud due to his skill. Reinhardt has been Ishtar's personal guardian since their childhood. One day, Ishtar gave Reinhardt a Blessed Sword (which became his most prized weapon).
Thracia 776 and Genealogy of the Holy War[]
In chapter 17A of Thracia 776, Reinhardt first appears escorting Ishtar. She asks the bishop Saias to aid Prince Julius (who is her lover), who has fallen ill. She reappears at the end if chapter 21x. Julius says to her that he don't like how Reinhardt looks at her and that he don't want to see him near them. Ishtar first protests saying that she relies on Reinhardt every day. But when Julius threatened to pluck Reinhardt's eyes, she asks to send him back to Friege. Julius agrees. In the next chapter Reinhardt is fought by Leif's army, he will be either killed or captured and released ( it's determined by the player). In the final chapter of Genealogy of the Holy War, Ishtar insists on fighting Seliph's army to avenge her family. She died in the battle.
Fire Emblem Heroes[]
In Fire Emblem Heroes they are both summonable by the player. They're are both fought in the bound heroes battle. They both had an alt from the event "A Splendid Soiree". In this event they dance together at a ball. In the paralogue that correspond to this event they are both fought. In the part two of this paralogue, Rinea revealed that she believed that Ishtar and Reinhardt were a couple. Ishtar answers that Reinhardt has been at her side since childhood and that he is very important to her. Rinea tell her that the bond between the two is strong even from a distance. In one of his quotes Reinhardt say that his duty is to protect Ishtar.
Fanon[]
Reinhtar is the most popular ship for Reinhardt and the second most popular for Ishtar after Ishtar x Julius. The ship popularity is mainly due to Fire Emblem Heroes where Reinhardt garnered popularity among fans due to his power and received a number of scenes with Ishtar following her introduction into the game. A small part of the Fire Emblem fandom complain about how Reinhardt and Ishtar relationship are portrayed in Heroes. The complain is that Heroes implies that at least one of them has feeling for the other while in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 it was just Julius that was jealous of Reinhardt and possessive of Ishtar. A part of the fandom would have liked to be able to recruit Ishtar and Reinhardt in FE4 and FE5 respectively. The Reinhtar shippers generally believe that Reinhardt deserves Ishtar more than Julius, who was made irredeemably evil after being possession by the dragon Loptyr at a young age. Many memes show Julius being pissed because Ishtar and Reinhardt spend time together. Most fanfiction show Ishtar and Reinhardt reunited in Heroes. Some others show Reinhardt having one-sided romantic feelings for Ishtar.
