Rekiya is the slash and friendship between Miya Chinen and Reki Kyan from the SK8 the Infinity fandom.

Canon

At first the two had a very rocky start, with lots of mutual hostility at first. Miya refers to Reki as a 'Slime', displaying his obvious scorn and deeming him an unworthy opponent. After the loss against Langa, Reki and Langa decide to befriend him, assuring him that they won't abandon him like Miya's old friends did. Reki jumps to his defense against Adam; when he was disparaging him.

Reki challenges Adam to a beef as he tries to protect his new friends' pride, despite others telling him it would be impossible to win. He was quick to offer tips to Reki on ways to go against Adam, and gives him advice on how to improve his lifestyle. But in Episode 5, after Reki's loss, Miya starts calling him 'Golem' as an upgrade, subtly showing that his respect for Reki had expanded and he's starting to warm up to him. In episode 7, Miya shows concern for Reki after his actions became 'UnReki-like' and questioned where he was to Langa. He teases Reki often but equally cares for him as Reki cares for Miya.

The two have a close friend ship and soon after the loss against Langa, Miya starts to hang out with him and Langa as often as he can and they start to form a brotherly like bond. With Reki and Langa making a silent agreement to never abandon Miya so that he never feels betrayed again.

When Reki doesn't show up Miya is visibly upset and seems heartbroken that Reki couldn't keep his promise but he later forgives him when he understands why.

Fanon

The ship sailed as a result of Reki finally managing to become Miya's first friend in a long time and the fact that Miya starts to warm up to him and upgrade him to a Golem shows that he truly does think highly of Reki.

The ship however received mixed feedback from fans. A lot of fans prefer to see this as a friendship or family ship due to Miya being 12 (About to turn 13) and Reki being 16 and in High School. However some fans would argue saying that they have no one else to ship Miya with so they ship him with Reki romantically. Sometimes involving a poly ship with Langa involved for fans who truly can't decide, creating Rengiya.

Regardless of how fans precept it there's no denying that the two have an extremely cute brotherly like bond. The ship only currently has about over 300 works on AO3, mostly under the friendship or familyship tag however there are a few fanfictions dedicated to them romantically.
